Hey everyone! Suzanne here with you today to share a VERY quick and EASY mixed-media layout. This page features the "September Song" kit that boasts loads of American Crafts goodies inclusive of Amy Tan and Paige Evans. This kit is so versatile that it started off as a Fall layout, but then I quickly gravitated to the bright and colorful side! I absolutely love the background paper, but I needed to tone down the pattern a bit so that focus isn't lost. I simply spritzed the background with a white, opaque spray ink-letting it drip in places and varying concentration of the ink in certain areas. If you don't own an opaque spray ink, this technique works very well with thinned white gesso. Remember when I said this was a quick and easy mixed-media layout? If you can't tell, I am a huge fan of funky layers on my pages. It's the perfect way to add pops of color to any photo! I also added some Paige Evans ephemera die-cut flowers to the page. They are not included with this kit, but you can purchase them in the Clique Kit store. I grabbed this title from a much older Clique Kit just because it works perfectly with the look on my daughter's face. She was staring up in a tree asking me all kinds of questions about the bark, leaves, and birds. I thought that little inquisitive face was just too cute to not photograph! I am also a fan of adding tulle between my layers and sewing on my pages. The tulle just adds that extra bit of visual dimension without taking away from the design of the page. Thank you so much for allowing me to share this easy layout with you today! I do hope you come back for more inspiration to come from the rest of the team!
