I love making mini albums and am always looking for different ways to do this. Today I have created a waterfall album but I added a half box so I could add more photos, journalling and memorabilia. I have used the Garden Party kit and paper pack available in the Clique shop cliquekits.com/shop-all/
I created a book spine to be able to fit a box pocket inside. My album size is 7x5 inches.I added machine stitching to create a border and create texture. I then added two of the gorgeous ribbon charms to the spine and then created an embellishment cluster on the front of my album which I added with foam tape to add dimension.
I cut each paper strip 4 inches wide. The trick to waterfall pages is simply increase each paper strip by 1/2 an inch and remembering to score the top of each strip by 1/4 of an inch. Start adhering your longest paper strip and then add each one until you reach the smallest paper strip. The 1/4 inch score is where you glue (wet glue is the best) . I added two holes in the 1/4 inch strip and threaded through some ribbon and tied a bow for visual effect. Sine this is where I will add my feature photos I have added sentiment phrases and words.
On the other side I added a 3D pocket and embellished from the ephemera from the kit. I added some lace to add to a modern vintage feel. I used my Silhouette Cameo to create the 3D pocket.
As you can see from the picture above there is plenty of room to add a substantial amount to the box pocket.
If you would like to use a cut file to get the basic shape of this album you cab find it in the Silhouette Design Store ID 44653 and it is called 3D Stationary Holder.
I love how this turned out, cut files to me are a great place to start but I always end up making it mine by adding to it in some way. The papers, and ephemera in this kit are perfect to create albums. Thank you for stopping by today and if you male your own version please # @cliquekits and @rachellowe____ we would love to see your creations!
