Hello there! It’s Heather Doolittle here with a traveler’s notebook spread that I created using this month’s Meadow kit!
When I received this kit, my mind got to working thinking of how I was going to use all of the awesome items in the kit!
I wanted to do something different with the wooden butterflies. I thought of painting them (I love that look!), but I had decided on making a traveler’s notebook spread for my story focus and I like keeping those pages pretty flat. So, I decided to use the butterflies as stamps! All I did was use my ATG to glue them temporarily to a clear stamp block, ink them up, stamp on my page, and then took the shapes off when I was complete! The butterflies were colored yellow when I was done stamping, so that would be fun to use on a future project!
To add some more interest, I fussycut some butterflies out of one of the patterned papers and added a few to the stamped area of the spread. I think the yellow-on-yellow looks beautiful! I also added some gold mist splatters to the page. I need some shine! :)
After finishing the focal point of the page (the butterflies), I added my photo, journaling, and a couple of embellishments and called it done! I love that I have this story about my beautiful peonies documented now!
Thanks for stopping by today! See you next time! :)
