Today I have a fun Christmas layout to share using the CP Hey Santa base kit. I love this photo of my daughter holding our very non compliant cat which may have been something to do with us decorating her! I knew when I started this layout I wanted to use a coloured base paper and create a window with a scene behind it. I worked on the window first, adding stitching around the frame to add texture. I chose the Santa paper to back the frame. I next added a Christmas Tree which is a cut file from the Silhouette Design store. I added glitter to the edges of the tree and finished off adding some tree embellishments and a Christmas parcel. I also added a puffy sticker wreath to the window. I then attached the window frame as a whole to my base paper with foam tape. I next added my photo (my daughter and a very grumpy cat being forced to dress up lol!), matting it on a black/white paper piece to contrast against the red polka dot paper. I added with foam tape to create dimension and tucked under a phrase sticker and a cute mouse puffy sticker finished off with a Santa and his reindeer sticker. I created a large title using gold glitter flocked paper so it contrasted nicely against the red polka dot paper. Don't be afraid to use a bright or patterned background, with contrasting other papers and embellishments it can work! I added some messy stitching in the form of a border to finish off. I love how this turned out and the fact that I put my white cardstock away and went out of my comfort zone.
I do hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with those you love! See you in 2021!
