Hi there, it is Piroska here today and this is my very first post at Clique International. I am very grateful to Gia who invited me to join this team of amazingly talented crafters! I hope to be able to inspire you with my works. For the first time I got an interesting task to fulfill: I had to scraplift a layout of one of the followers of Clique International. I chose Kim Allen and her layout made for the challenge of Marcia Dehn-Nix last month. Kim's layout is bright and colourful, and I really loved the idea of the triangle composition. But before I show you my scraplift, let me introduce you Kim who was ready to answer some questions: Q: Kim, I've just seen in the Clique International Facebook Group that you make many layouts. Why do you love scrapbooking? A: I started scrapbooking when attending a creative memories show done by a friend. I started just because I wanted to support her. Fast forward 20 + years later, I have fallen in love with this hobby. I love that there are NO rules for scrapbooking. I can create whatever makes my heart happy and that is OK. I have just started to dabble in mixed media pages and I am really loving the effects of all the different mediums on my pages. Q: Why do you love Clique International? A: I found Clique Kits a few months after it started and I have been a fan since day 1. I love that the kits are such a variety of different companies put into the most amazing kits. I have been introduced some of the most amazing manufactures and independent companies. I LOVE that there are kits to introduce me to new techniques or different holiday kits. I really LOVE that there are so many choices at Clique kits and you can mix and match to your hearts content. - Thank you, Kim, I am so happy to get to know you a little better :-) Here is Kim's layout: And here is my scraplift: As I have mentioned before, I was inspired by the triangle design of Kim’s layout. I chose the Design Team announcement photo and paired it with the beautiful So Romantic Base Kit which you can now pre-order in the shop. It has so beautiful colours, and I love the floral paper so much, I had to fussy-cut some of the flowers. I cut the Floral Heart Frame 1 cut file of CUT to YOU from smooth white cardstock - I didn't want to paint a rainbow, but wanted to keep the heart from Kim's layout as an element. I got my Prima Marketing Watercolor Confections Pastel Dream watercolours and painted a background for the photo, the cut heart and my title as well. As a base I used Florence Watercolor paper so I didn't need to use gesso. I backed my photo with patterned papers of the collection, and started to arrange the fussy cut flowers. I only glued them on one side so that they can be lifted up from the background paper. I also added adhesive foam to some of them, and used the stickers of the collection to get dimensions. Finally I added some more stickers, chipboards to the layout. It was so fun to scraplift Kim's layout! I'm rarely paint on my layouts but it was so good to get out of my controll zone. Thanks, Kim! :-)
