Hiya Scrappy peeps! Suzanna here as Ambassador again to share another layout that I created using the oh so gorgeous August Meadow kits! I went a little mixed media "heavy" and added one of the exclusive cut files but just LOVE the way it turned out. I arranged the elements from the digital file (available HERE) into a heart shape and cut it with my Silhouette Cameo. I then removed the "positives" or the shaped leaving with the "negative". I overlayed the negative over a Distress Oxide background that I created, allowing the complimentary color mix to peek through the openings. For some additional movement and dimension to the page, I added a few of the "positives" or shapes. There's something about the effect that makes it seem like the fussy cut butterflies are flying, don't you think? For a little more color and to ground the page a bit, I used a varegated yellow/orange thread and stitched a heart shape around the outer edge of the digital cut file. I also added a thin border around the outside edge of the layout to frame the page and really pop the colors in the mixed media background. You can just see the pops of gold that sparkle from the page. In my last layout that I shared with you, (have you had time to play with the sketch challenge yet?) I used these same fussy cut yellow butterflies. They are just the best!! The pops of bright color from the custom die cuts created by Gia as so whimsical and fun! I love the way you can leave these Heidi Swapp Minc words as they are or add foil for a complimentary color. I ran mine through my Minc with a coppery, orange. You can see how to do that in today's process video if you aren't sure how. I have had a blast designing with Clique Kits' kit this month and look forward to seeing all the goodies y'all create with this kit. It's definitely "not your average" kit and this month is different to work with. It really pushes your creative boundaries, in a good way!
