Hey everyone! Suzanne here to share a mixed-media layout featuring the "Hey Santa" Christmas kit. This kit is jammed packed with goodies from Crate Paper. We are all crafters here, and have all gotten cardboard in our packages to keep our pretty papers straight right? Well, I've used a piece of that old trusty cardboard to create the stars on this layout. Using the Dimensional Star Die Set from Mintopia and a cut down piece of cardstock, I cut the cardboard with a manual die-cut machine. Don't let the size and thinness of these dies fool ya! They are a workhorse! They cut through the thick cardboard with absolutely no trouble! Once I had the stars cut, I grabbed some gold wax paste and a make-up sponge and covered the stars until they were fully coated. The wax is lightfast, so as soon as I finished, I applied some glue randomly to the stars to prep it for even more gold! While the glue was still tacky, I applied gold flakes to the stars-not to completely cover the stars but to give them a bit of distressed appearance. After I rubbed off the excess flakes, these stars were ready to go! Here are some close-ups of the finished layout! How fun and perfect is that gold frame!? Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope this layout has inspired you to waste not, want not! Please come back for more inspiration from our design team!
