I have three teenagers and for quite a while now I watch them take photos, selfies and more photos but they never get printed or saved (phone lost or broke and all those photos/memories all lost!). So I decided to encourage my teenagers to actually print them off and preserve those memories. I have started with my daughter, creating this fun photo box (because are they really going to be bothered putting them into an album, no!) my hope that she will print some of those memories and put them in this suitcase box and having it looking pretty on a shelf. If you don't have a cutting machine you can find any box that opens up. Cover each panel with paper. Add the old fashion 'leather' straps and a handle. I added eyelets before attaching to the top of the box. I also added machine stitching to each paper piece before attaching. I added corners and you can do this by punching a circle, cutting in half and fold over the corner of the box. I have used Dear Lizzy Here & Now collection with is available in the shop cliquekits.com I made my own tassel to decorate my suitcase, these are super easy to make. Cut a 1 1/2 inch paper strips[, fringe cut all the way along leaving a 1/2 inch at the top. Now add a thin layer of glue and roll. I used embroidery thread, looped and tied a knot, I then I threaded the loop and put my needle up the centre, the knot will stop it coming all the way through. You can then thread some beads and attach to your suitcase handles. Lastly I made some mini envelopes and tags just in case they may want to add some memorabilia or add written details/dates. And there you have it, one handmade (and made with love) photo box that will hopefully encourage my teenage daughter to print some of those photos off her phone and add them here as a permanent keepsake! Have a wonderful and safe week and see you again soon. Any questions on this project please leave them in the comments and I will respond.
