Happy Monday! Do you ever experiment with different sizes of layouts to go in your albums? I know that I am not always a 12x12 girl myself. I love to add different sizes, pocket pages, and even interactive elements to my pages to increase the interest and keep things fresh. Today, I'm creating an 8.5x11 layout and I am grabbing one of my favorite go-to tools: my hexagon punch! I started with all of the beautiful paper and ephemera from the main kit. There were so many useable patterned and shapes to choose from that I just grabbed a little of everything. I used my hexagon punch to create a whole bunch of punched shapes and then laid them out on my page. One of my favorite little tips for a layout like this is to choose a couple of places to reverse your punch. Instead of laying the punched out shape on top of the layout, I used my punch to removed a piece of the background paper, added a little dimension foam, and placed the patterned paper behind it. Not only does this create some extra interest and dimension, but its a great home for some ephemera--in this case--flair badges. Then, it was just a matter of adding some layers behind my photo and my title which I grabbed from my personal stash of Good Vibes goodies. This was a simple layout but I just love the result. Here is the video that goes along with it if you are interested in checking that out. Pull out those punches today and see what fun things you can create! I would love to see what you come up with so make sure to tag me in any project you make.
