Aloha!! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. I was busy hanging out with my family and scrapping. I am working hard trying to work on my December Daily from last year. I want to have most of it finished before I start this year's album. One way that I am doing is sticking to one kit as much as possible and using printables. Lacey has designed some really amazing exclusive printables for the Clique Into the Holidays workshop. These really help add to my album pages and I love that I can add them into Photoshop and type my journalling right on the card or edit them to fit my album. Let's take a look at a few simple things I did to my Day 10 and using the printables. My Day 10 consists of One 6x6 sized photo on a piece of 6x8 patterned paper and 2 6x8 page protectors that have 2 3x4 at the top and 1 6x4 photo at the bottom. I had a total of 4 photos for my day. I wanted to make sure I included journaling and filler day card. I took one of the exclusive printable cards and added it to Photoshop. I loved the coffee cup and the color scheme, but i wanted to change the bottom line of words to match my spread. In Photoshop it was really easy to highlight the bottom line of text and cover it in another layer with the same color as the background. I then added a new text block back over the same spot and added the wording I wanted. I color matched the original text and changed the text color to match. Bingo, it looks like it matches and by adding layers in Photoshop I can easily go back to the original version when I want to use that. Before changing the coffee cup card I printed off all the exclusive printables on a cover stock paper on my at home printer. By batch printing them, I have a bunch of cards all ready to go to add to my spreads as I need them. I love the way my day card turned out by trimming down the December Card and backing it on a striking red patterned paper. I added silver glitter washi tape to the middle of the card then layered on top of that a circle of patterned papered a lab tag punched out from the printable sheet. By adding a sticker and a handmade bow with bakers twine, I had the perfect little spot to add number tile stickers that look like they came from a game. It matched the pictures from my day too. To help tie in the the big picture with the pockets I added another cluster of layered washi tape, patterned paper and a label from the same printable paper. I added more numbers to the die cut just in case I needed it. This penguin from the Sweater Wether Collection is so cute and matches the penguin on my holiday mug. I also added some red sequins for some extra pops of color. ![]() I love this heart pattern from the printables, it works so well with my photo too. The one thing about game or get together's are that the photos tend to have so may different colors in them. I could have made the photo black and white and then it would match any color scheme I use. So using this pattern really keeps the page alive and joyous. by adding a christmasy patterned paper behind the hearts it gives a nod to the holiday season but doesn't scream Christmas. This get together with our friends is a something that we plan monthly so it isn't necessarily a christmas story but a story of our lives even when it is the holidays. I think it's important in my holiday albums to note and journal about he relationships we have and what that means to us. I kept the card simple and added a tag and a label sticker. By adding ribbon to the tag I am bringing more red in to the spread. ![]() My drink photo was very festive so I embellished that a bit more. By adding silver washi tape, a sticker, gold alpha's and more red sequins. I tried to get the cluster to mimic the drinks. It makes it fun and fills that need for things to match.
I had a whole 3x4 card for journalling which was plenty. If I had needed more space to journal I would have close one of the printables and added it to Photoshop and added a text black on the card and added journalling that way. By printing out journaling you can make the words smaller and get more on the card. also it can look really nice and neat especially if you use a really cool font. Thanks for joining me today!! By on the look out this week on the Clique Kits Youtube Channel for the Process video for this spread. I will share the video in the Clique Facebook when it is live.
