I was born in the UK and raised in a Royalist family and when we later moved to New Zealand it remained the same NZ being a. part of the Commonwealth. Whether you are a Royalist or not you have to admire Queen Elizabeths devotion to duty and service. I wanted to document her passing and the now famous picture of her and Paddington Bear inspired my layout. I have used the wonderful cliquekits.com/base-kit-eurydice/ Eurydice kit which has been restocked in the Clique shop. The heart and crown cut file is from Bella BLVD, perfect for my theme. I printed off my photo (I downloaded a copy from Google images) sizing it as 3.5x4 inches. I decided to cut two hearts using the off set function if you are using a Silhouette Cameo, this prevents a 'flat' looking heart'. I next created my heart using three colours for visual interest. I added a floral bunch from the die cuts included in the kit and tucked it under my heart and so it would cascade out of the crown. I added a bow which is not a part of the cut file, I used one of the colours from the crown to tie all this together. I added my photo with foam tape and before adhering to my page I added another floral bunch die cut to the left of my photo. I added a journal block so I could document regarding this significant moment in history and made it an embellishment cluster by adding more die cuts. Lastly I added some journalling which I typed, I love this quote that was doing the rounds of social media regarding her passing and just had to add it to my layout. You can see I added thread through this button die cut which is a perfect way to add texture. And there you have it, a perfect example of memory keeping. This kit has so many wonderful papers in it, it is so easy to create numerous layouts that look so very different. As always thank you for stopping by today and see you again soon.
