![]() My name is Giorgia Rossini. I'm a Radiation Technologist with a huge passion for arts and crafts: I work in Radiation Therapy, so I really need my "happy place" in my craft room. It helps me to feel better after a day in the hospital. I've been married for 5 years, and I have a little baby girl, Isabella. I started scrapbooking about 10 years ago to preserve my memories, and since then I can't stop! I love the preserving memories part of it but also the creative part of it: playing with papers and all the cute embellishments make me happy! I love making layouts, mini album and cards. My style is certainly colorful: I love to mix patterned papers! CK: First of all, please share the places our readers and fans can find you on the web and social
media! Giorgia: Instagram : https://www.instagram.com/giorgiarossiniscrap/ Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/giorgia.rossini.82 Blog: http://www.giorgiarossini.com/ About your process… CK: Clique Kits is obviously in love with your work. Can you tell us a little about your inspiration and your creative process? Giorgia: I am in love with patterned papers, they are my obsession! I also never throw away even the tiniest piece of paper scrap, I preserve them for future projects. My projects are almost all made with a mix of papers. I also love to machine sew on my projects. CK: What are your ideal surroundings when you are designing? Giorgia: Location: my craft room Listening to: I love all kind of music (if you want to try listening some Italian songs I can suggest Subsonica and Marco Mengoni, two of my favorites!) Snacking on: I don’t eat while crafting. Sometimes I drink tea. Tools within arm’s reach: trimmer, fussy cutting scissors, sewing machine People/things nearby: nobody, I am so lucky to have a whole floor in my house only for me! Other: I scrap standing, I almost never sit while scrapping. CK: What is the hardest thing for paper crafters in your country? What is the best thing? Giorgia: Till some years ago we didn’t have many stores to buy scrapbooking products but now they are opening, but still it is hard to find all the products you have in the US. The best thing is an association, called ASI (Associazione Scrappers Italia), that organizes crops and events all over the country to promote scrapbooking and have fun together. It is always a pleasure to go to these meetings, learning new techniques and scrap! CK: Do you have a “go to” … color palette? Nope, I love to mix colors! embellishment? Chipboard stickers and puffy stickers brand you love? Pebbles, Pink Paislee, Crate Paper Tool you use all the time? Sewing machine About your history… CK: What was your earliest success as an artist? Giorgia: In 2014 I was chosen for the very first time for a company Design Team, an important American brand, Paper House Production! It was a big satisfaction and I will forever be thankful to those guys for choosing me and made me grow as scrapper. CK: How did you start as a paper-crafter and designer? Giorgia: I always had a great passion for arts and crafts: I experimented a lot before falling in love with scrapbooking (I paint, I made jewelry, I created with felt…) Then more than 10 years ago, I don’t remember how, I started scrapbooking: at that time scrapbooking wasn’t popular in my country and I remember reading a lot of international blogs, because here in Italy there were only few scrappers. CK: What was your very first paper crafting memory? Giorgia: I created an album for a friend after our trip to Cuba and I made another one for my fiancé (now my husband). They were both quite ugly, made mainly with recycled items (there weren’t physical shops near me and also online shops were a rarity then) but I enjoyed the process so much and since then I never stopped! About you currently… CK: What have you been doing lately? Giorgia: Watching on TV: I watch a lot of TV series. The last one was Better call Saul. Buying: clothes for my daughter Isabella who is 15 months. Visiting: the last place I visited was Tokyo, more than 2 years ago. Then I was pregnant, then the baby, then the quarantine… I hope to be able to start travelling again soon, because me and hubby love to travel, we visited many countries and we want to visit many more! Using in artwork: sewing machine on almost every project Wishing for: coronavirus stopping (I am a radiation technologist and I am having really tough days lately…) CK: Something that most people do not know about you… Giorgia: I am afraid of horses. About your country… CK: What are some must see cities, landmarks, or locations in your country? Giorgia: Italy is full of beautiful cities and places to visit. Of course every one knows Rome, Venice, Florence, Naples but I want to invite you discover my beautiful region, Le Marche, where you can find medieval little cities, beautiful beaches (I live by Conero Riviera, a dream place!), lovely countryside… I could write for days about my beautiful country! Italy is a gem and I hope you can visit it soon safely. CK: Are there any national or cultural traditions unique to where you live you can share? Giorgia: Here we have a culinary specialty: Moscioli. They are selvatic mussels from Portonovo. If you come here try Spaghetti with Moscioli and you will thank me! Thanks so much for allowing The Clique to get to know you better!
