Hi there! Giorgia here today! How is your summer going? I hope you are having fun! One of my favorite summer activity is to relax on the beach with a good book; I am an avid reader and I also collect bookmarks and I love to make my own too... So this is my last one: I tried something new for me: I cut two pieces of acetate, machine sewed all around the acetate leaving one side open. I filled with sequins and flatback crystals recreating a confetti rainbow! I finished sewing the last side to keep everything in place. On top of it I sew a tassel and I covered the sewing with a die-cut. Sentiment in Italian says something like "reading makes you independent", it is a word joke between independence and addiction, that in Italian are "dipendenza" and "INdipendenza". To create the bookmark I used Color Me Happy by Pretty Little Studio sampler kit die-cuts and sequins (did you spot the unicorn ones? I LOVE them!).
I also made another one to give to a friend on her birthday; they are such a funny gift! Do you love to create your own bookmarks? Let me know if you will give this kind of bookmark a try!
Ciao, alla prossima.
