Hi friends! Dana here today sharing a scrapbook layout filled with happy rainbows for our new blog category On Repeat. Whether it is color, pattern, texture, or shape, the idea behind these posts is to find something that inspires you and use it in a repetitive way. I think it is pretty obvious that I chose to repeat rainbows! I used colorful cardstock and a My Favorite Things Happy Rainbow Die to create my own base patterned paper. I topped that with rainbow vellum, a shaker embellishment filled with rainbow shaker elements, and a photo of a double rainbow. A double rainbow is considered a symbol of transformation and is a sign of good fortune. The first arc represents the material world, and the second arc signifies the spiritual realm. Double rainbows are also thought to be a sign of future success. Furthermore, anuenue means "rainbow" in Hawaiian and is a common theme in many Clique kits. If you're a fan of rainbows, you'll easily find what you need to make a similar layout in the Clique Shop. I have a confession to make; cardstock scares me! I try all the time to use it as the base for my layouts, but the lack of a print really challenges my patterned paper loving brain. To finally cut in to my beautiful colored cardstock stash I decided to create my own patterned cardstock. It took some time and a lot of work with my Cuttlebug (120 2.5 x 3 inch rectangles) to cut enough rainbows to fill a piece of cardstock, but I'm absolutely thrilled with the result and the fabulous texture! I saved all the extra rainbow pieces, so I can create 4 more 12x12 designs, plus create something fun with all the rainbow negatives. Once my base cardstock was complete, I added another rainbow using the Pretty Little Studio Rainbow Connection Vellum from the Color Me Happy Clique Sampler Kit. I used the arcs as a guide for my title letters. This vellum sheet worked perfectly for a smooth journaling spot. ![]() My Sister-in-Law captured this gorgeous double rainbow while vacationing in the Virgin Islands several years ago. I marked the end of each rainbow in the photo with Waffleflower Enamel Dots. Finally, I assembled a cardstock cloud shaker embellishment and filled it with Dress My Craft Rainbow Shaker Elements.

Hello Lovelies! Theresa here today and I am so excited to share a layout I did with the Love Stories kit, a special release from the shop for Valentine's Day! Have a look. This kit came with some fantastic goodies from Crate Paper La La Love and Pebbles Loves Me, and I just wanted to use them all! It also included two sheets of really cool vellum. I love working with translucent elements and adding fun layers, so I punched as many hearts as I could from the vellums. Then I punched just as many from all of the patterned papers in the kit. My goal was to add as many of those punched hearts as I could, and I figured the best way to do that was via a radiating circle from the center of the layout. So I adhered the paper hearts and then added the vellum on top with my sewing machine to keep everybody in place. The photo of course is the focal point, and I adhered that slightly to the left of center. This photo was an accidental capture of me and my husband Alan trying to figure out the timer setting on my phone. Our expressions crack me up and that is the inspiration for my title, Are We Doing This Right?! I added the title in keeping with the circle theme around the photo, and then tied that into my journaling. The journaling is all about how sometimes this is how life feels. Sometimes it feels like we don't know what we are doing, and lots of days we really don't know what we are doing (!!!) but we are figuring it out together and I can't imagine doing this life with anyone except him. I also really wanted to include this adorable little sloth, so he is tucked in with the heart doily and heart die cuts. Also notice how I cut the photo to fit inside one of the adorable couple photos from the La La Love collection! I am loving the pop of blue! This was so much fun to create! Thank you so much for joining me today! Have you been playing with your Love Stories kit? We would love to see, so be sure to share and tag us! Hi friends! I have a project life spread today in my 6x8 album, and I have a couple of things going on in this week's spread. You might notice that the week I'm documenting is from earlier this year. It was a tough week for my family and I knew I wanted to document it, but the time hasn't been right until now to go ahead and do that. The other thing is that I love adding inserts into my 6x8 album, I feel like they make an album more interactive if that makes sense? I used my favourite Clique Kits cut file as an insert this week, but I'll talk about that a bit later. My supplies are from the May 2018 Riga Kit, with lots of beautiful pastels and that gorgeous specialty paper, the rose gold foil vellum. I used one of the ephemera tags for my title card, and printed my week in one font and the dates in another. Here's a bit of an insight into what happened that week. While our daughter and her partner were visiting us, their home which is about 800km away, caught fire. Thankfully no-one was hurt and the fire was put out, but I can't even imagine what a helpless feeling it would be to be so far away. The photo in the insert is a screenshot that one of our daughter's emergency services friends sent her. Sometimes a picture tells a thousand words, and I really feel like this one does, so I wanted to make sure it was included for the week. I've actually used two inserts in this spread, the 3x8 page plus my cut file. You can just see the cut file peeking out further than the 3x8 and it's almost asking you to turn the page ha! This is the centre of the spread once you turn the 3x8. This week was actually when I found that I had been accepted as an Ambassador for my first term with Clique Kits and OMGosh, I can't tell you how excited I was!! I used my sewing machine to stitch along some of the lines on the coffee cup in the insert for extra dimension, and let the threads hang loose. The Lacy Mandala cut file that you can find here in the Clique shop, is my absolute favourite cut file! It's just stunning and reminds me of a crochet doily. Since this pattern is symmetrical you can easily fold it in half, matching the edges and patterns, to create a semi-circle as an album insert. First up I checked my measurements to make sure it would fit vertically in my album. I needed to make it a little bit smaller, so I resized it in my Silhouette software before sending it to cut. I backed some sections with patterned paper and left some unbacked. I also sandwiched a semi circle of plain vellum as I was adhering the two halves together. Love the semi-transparent look! To hold it in my album I've used some old (ancient!) Basic Grey tabs from my stash, but you could easily make your own tabs by cutting a strip of cardstock, adhering it to each side of the insert and then punching a hole to slip over the binder rings. And that's my spread for the week! Thanks for stopping by today and I hope I've inspired you to try out a cut file as an insert.
Aloha!! It's Hannah with you today!! How is week going? Are you like me, I start my year strong, focused and taking a ton of photos. Determined to fully document our day to day lives. Then routine sets in, and I kinda get tired of seeing the same types of photos. How do you switch it up, so you don't stop telling your stories? This year I have decided to use some of my Traveler's Notebooks as a way of documenting those stories from our normal day to day lives. the things we think we will remember because we literally do them everyday. But what about those little changes that over time? Those moments that after a few years your routine really has changed. I have been thinking about this a lot lately. Just 2 to 3 years ago we lived in Hawaii, my kids were really little, in their early school years. we had a routine, and things seemed so easy. This year as I pour my and more time planning our homeschool lessons and grading, I am realizing just how much my life really has changed. Not just in scenery because we moved to a whole new state. Not just because we no longer spend hours and hours in doctor appts throughout the month. The amount of words my girls can read per minute, the number of worksheets my kids finish each day, and the fact that they can actually help with the chores around the house. By using my TN to write a little blurp each day about the comings and goings is a big help with helping me remember these little moments. I plan to use a lot of these journals for PL, but I often like to add pictures when I am document certain moments. I use my words from IG, I add things my kids say that is goofy, I am the weather, I even like to mention things that are happening around me. The TN are perfect for spilling my thoughts of a normal day. Here is a spread I made that is what I like to do when I am documenting things about my day. I used the Girl Tribe Traveler's Notebook Kit. In Photoshop I added one of the PNG files from the printables for the Main Kit. This unicorn was so cute, I thought it would add a fun element to my spread. Plus I was thinking about the fact that unicorns embody this being able to overcome whatever and believing in something impossible, just because you need to be in something. This was the feel I wanted for my spread. Overcoming the day to day grind!! I changed the color with the paint bucket tool. I sized my page size 4 x 8.25 so when I dropped my png in I could size it to the page size easily. This really helps with printing and cutting to add to my Traveler's Notebook. I then dropped my photo into this page in Photoshop and sized it to my liking. I wanted some space at the top for journalling. I wanted to write my journaling, but you could definitely add journaling with the text feature in Photoshop. This would be especially helpful if you had a lot to say and wanted it to know that it would fit in the space. I like my hand writing in my journals, so I just printed my page on cover stock. It's a bit different than photo paper and yardstick. It is a bit thinner, which I like in my Traveler Notebook. I added a few stickers to embellish, I even added embroidery floss in the top of the tag. I am loving the sticker sheet we had in the kit. There is so many stickers with tons of different uses. For the opposite side, I knew I didn't want to add anymore journaling. I used the speciality vellum from the Girl Tribe Main Kit. It has all these symboling, it kind of reminded of all the things that you have planned to do during a day, like a to do list. Having vellum fill a page it would create the illusion of a lots of embellishing on the page without really having to add all the layers. I stapled the vellum to the top. This way if I did want to change my mind later about journaling I could still add some without losing the page. Adding a die cut word, gave me a really easy title. I just had to add this coffee cup to a cluster at the bottom of the vellum. I added stars around my cluster to highlight it. I am using this blue Shimelle paper clip to mark my page, because I intend to journal straight up on the next page. Maybe add a small cluster of stickers, to make the page more appealing. I really love the idea of having tons of journaling about our days. Seeing this writing later makes my heart smile. Here is the final look of my spread. Thanks for joining me today. I hope I have given you some fresh ideas and ways to use your Traveler's Notebooks. Keep an eye out on the Clique Kits Youtube Channel for the process video for this later this week.
