Hello, Friends! Maryám here to share with you another layout using the October 2017 "Girl Tribe" Kit. This kit features the Glitter Girl collection from Shimelle, and some other things from Amy Tangerine and Studio Calico. For today's project, I decided to use a big photo, so I opened Photoshop, changed the size of the photo to 8 1/2 x 11 and then I sent it to print. After that, I did the funniest part, embellishing. I added some ephemera pieces, stickers, and also the journaling. Here is the result: Here are some close-ups: I hope you liked my layout. And don't forget to try to make a layout with a big photo. This layout was the first one I made and I really liked the result.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!

Aloha!! It's Hannah with you today!! How is week going? Are you like me, I start my year strong, focused and taking a ton of photos. Determined to fully document our day to day lives. Then routine sets in, and I kinda get tired of seeing the same types of photos. How do you switch it up, so you don't stop telling your stories? This year I have decided to use some of my Traveler's Notebooks as a way of documenting those stories from our normal day to day lives. the things we think we will remember because we literally do them everyday. But what about those little changes that over time? Those moments that after a few years your routine really has changed. I have been thinking about this a lot lately. Just 2 to 3 years ago we lived in Hawaii, my kids were really little, in their early school years. we had a routine, and things seemed so easy. This year as I pour my and more time planning our homeschool lessons and grading, I am realizing just how much my life really has changed. Not just in scenery because we moved to a whole new state. Not just because we no longer spend hours and hours in doctor appts throughout the month. The amount of words my girls can read per minute, the number of worksheets my kids finish each day, and the fact that they can actually help with the chores around the house. By using my TN to write a little blurp each day about the comings and goings is a big help with helping me remember these little moments. I plan to use a lot of these journals for PL, but I often like to add pictures when I am document certain moments. I use my words from IG, I add things my kids say that is goofy, I am the weather, I even like to mention things that are happening around me. The TN are perfect for spilling my thoughts of a normal day. Here is a spread I made that is what I like to do when I am documenting things about my day. I used the Girl Tribe Traveler's Notebook Kit. In Photoshop I added one of the PNG files from the printables for the Main Kit. This unicorn was so cute, I thought it would add a fun element to my spread. Plus I was thinking about the fact that unicorns embody this being able to overcome whatever and believing in something impossible, just because you need to be in something. This was the feel I wanted for my spread. Overcoming the day to day grind!! I changed the color with the paint bucket tool. I sized my page size 4 x 8.25 so when I dropped my png in I could size it to the page size easily. This really helps with printing and cutting to add to my Traveler's Notebook. I then dropped my photo into this page in Photoshop and sized it to my liking. I wanted some space at the top for journalling. I wanted to write my journaling, but you could definitely add journaling with the text feature in Photoshop. This would be especially helpful if you had a lot to say and wanted it to know that it would fit in the space. I like my hand writing in my journals, so I just printed my page on cover stock. It's a bit different than photo paper and yardstick. It is a bit thinner, which I like in my Traveler Notebook. I added a few stickers to embellish, I even added embroidery floss in the top of the tag. I am loving the sticker sheet we had in the kit. There is so many stickers with tons of different uses. For the opposite side, I knew I didn't want to add anymore journaling. I used the speciality vellum from the Girl Tribe Main Kit. It has all these symboling, it kind of reminded of all the things that you have planned to do during a day, like a to do list. Having vellum fill a page it would create the illusion of a lots of embellishing on the page without really having to add all the layers. I stapled the vellum to the top. This way if I did want to change my mind later about journaling I could still add some without losing the page. Adding a die cut word, gave me a really easy title. I just had to add this coffee cup to a cluster at the bottom of the vellum. I added stars around my cluster to highlight it. I am using this blue Shimelle paper clip to mark my page, because I intend to journal straight up on the next page. Maybe add a small cluster of stickers, to make the page more appealing. I really love the idea of having tons of journaling about our days. Seeing this writing later makes my heart smile. Here is the final look of my spread. Thanks for joining me today. I hope I have given you some fresh ideas and ways to use your Traveler's Notebooks. Keep an eye out on the Clique Kits Youtube Channel for the process video for this later this week.

I can't wait to chat with you later next week!! Hello! Donna here sharing my first project this term in the CK Design Team. I love this month's kit "Girl Tribe" featuring Shimelle's Glitter Girl collection. It's full of vibrant colors and fun embellishments! I knew I wanted to use these Snapchat photos of my daughter when I saw this kit. Her reactions were priceless and I wanted her to remember this moment. ![]() I splattered watercolors first on the background and cut an inch to the top and left edges of the white cardstock I used. Then I adhered it on one of the patterned papers. ![]() I edited my photos a bit brighter since these were taken at night. I also love fussy cutting and this paper (Seek Rainbows) from the Glitter Girl collection is fussy-cut heaven! I used the strip (product detail strip) here as well, it's too pretty to throw away. I adhered some with foam tape to add dimension. I just love all the pretty and fun embellishments in this kit! And let's not forget the glitters! Super love! That's all from me today! I would love to know your thoughts on my project, love reading your comments!
Thanks for dropping by and happy crafting! Aloha!! It's Hannah here with you today! I am using the Main October Girl Tribe Kit. I love Geek Lab days. I love this thinking outside of the box to use my kit. I don't know about you but if I don't change things up I get bored. I can have amazing products with all my favorite color combos and cute little embellishments, but in the end if I don't challenge myself I find myself sitting at my desk just staring at all these pretty products. And then that makes me guilty and irritated because I love scrapping, it's time for me to be me. So how do we challenge ourselves without losing our own style and self as scrap? I try to think outside the box, how can I tell the stories I have pictures for in a fun and colorful way. I was thinking about how I could use this month's cut files. The designers at the Clique are amazingly talented and these files get added to my download folder each month, I really don't want them just sitting there taking up precious computer space. Unless I use them. This month we have some coffee cups and a unicorn. They match the kit so well, but I how do I mesh that with my pictures? In the end if I can't make them work with the pictures I have or the stories I could tell they sit on my computer. Well I will be honest I have no idea how I will use the unicorn. It would make an awesome mini album shape, but that really wasn't screaming at me to run to my desk and scrap right away. The coffee cups though, are my style. I love coffee. How can I make this cup file work in a way to tell a story or use a photo I have in a different way. Because let's face it, I don't really need 50 layouts of my love for coffee. I could do it, because it's my albums but I really don't want to do that. I decided to do something different with the cut file and drop a photo into the cut file in the silhouette software. To do this, you open your cut file in the silhouette software. Then you go to your file of photo and grab your desired photo with your mouse and move it over your silhouette software with the cut file open. You will need to have kept your silhouette software program open in order to do this. Drop the image over the cut file and it should fit into the cut file. It sizes the image to fit your cut file. This is so helpful because if you use the print and cut feature in the silhouette software you can then add this cut file with the image in it on the page with the registration marks and print your photo first then add it to your silhouette mat and feed it into your machine and the silhouette will recognize the cuts and cut your file. I used the coffee cup cut file and added a picture of a screen shot from one of my scrappy friends group chat. I didn't really need the whole image to really be showing I just wanted the cup file to have something in it, that wasn't patterned paper but added interest. What better than our own words chatting to each other?! Here is how it looks all down. It's really subtle but gives the effect I was looking for. This same technique would have looked really cool using the unicorn cut file and printing off pictures in the unicorn shape and adding papers in that shape too. I did back the cut file with the chat bubble patterned paper from the kit. I used wet glue to make sure all the little lines from the cut file were adhered. Also, one piece of advice, use a really sharp blade when cutting this file. I found with the file not expanded to the 12x12 size and on thinner cover stock, it did not want to come off my silhouette mat and was really thin in some areas. Overall though I love how this looks. To help tie in the conversation aspect of my layout, I printed off some of the screen shots I had saved from previous conservations we have had in the past. I cut out more of the speech bubbles and found some of them in the die cut pack. I popped some of them on pop dots and spread them around with white card stock as a background. I even added one of the star shaker speech bubbles. The holographic stars are so much fun, I scattered them around too. I actually felt like I didn't need to add much embellishing. I was fully prepared to add those fuzzy pom poms or the little hearts. As I added the speech bubbles and the stars I listened to my gut and let the bubbles do the talking. I used the main kit printables that Gia designed. I loved this #tribe, and really it was one of the things that sparked this layout or at least the direction I wanted to go. I have been wanting to tell the story of my tribe. I have been wanting to document just how special it is to me and what it means to me, I really feel it is so important to me to document these things for my family, my girls. How important it is to find and keep friends close to you and how important they are to having a healthy life. I want my girls to know I loved not just them but others too. What it look like to have real friendships that are positive. If we as women don't tell our story how will those after us now what real friendships and positive relationships and fun looks like. To finish my layout I doodled with a black journaling pen around the outside of the white card stock. I added my journalling under my title. I used the word foam glitter Thickers to finish the title. I love the way a patchwork title looks. I finished with my trusty date stamp in just the year. I did this because many of the images were from different dates, and really it didn't matter to me the date as long as I can remember what year it was. Here is one last look at my finished layout. Don't forget to check out the store for all the cut files and printables I used one this layout, as well as quite a few more. There are tons of other cool add ons in the Store as well, use my code Hannah10 and you will get 10% off your order. Until next week I hope you stay inspired and let your supplies help guide you to tell your stories and show off those pictures you love!! Aloha!!! Its Hannah with you today!! I am using the October Girl Tribe Traveler's Notebook Kit today. I am loving all the bright and bold colors this kit has to offer. This is by far my favorite Traveler's Notebook kit to date. There are some really fun pieces like the roll stamps and the Glitter Girl clips that really just brings it over the top. I am working in this month's Traveler's Notebook that came in the Traveler's Notebook Kit. I remember the cover paper from when I guest designed last March. It's so much fun!! This month I am going to be trying something new, I am going to build my pages outside my notebook on white card stock and then add them when I am finished with the spread. I am hoping to do some special things on my pages that building them separate or outside my TN will give me a bit more freedom, like hand stitching. Let's take a look at what I did for this spread!! I started out by taking a look at the 6x6 pad and choosing a few of my favorite papers. As soon as I seen the circle paper I knew I needed to punch out those circles and use it for my background. This is a great way to get more out of the smaller paper too. By punching the circles and adding them by hand to the white page you can decide how much white space you want and make a 6x6 paper useable for both sides of the TN. After I added the punched circles across the page I remade holes around all the circles to hand stitch. This process is always a labor of love. It takes time to make holes and go back and stitch. This time I did a basic back stitch, even though it takes a bit more time, it really looks cool . The time is well worth it. Also this type of work can be easily done while catching up on Youtube videos too. Win-Win in my book!! Here is a close up of some of my stitched circles. For my title I used the patterned paper with the alphabet on it in blocks. I really love this combo of circles with blocks and angles. The different sizes of blocks are really fun as the title too. To help the title stand out I added foam dimensional adhesive. By popping up a couple of the letters they don't all lay flat and get lost on the background. On some of the squares I also made faux stitching with a white jelly roll pen. This will help coordinate with all the hand stitching I did. I also had to turn a V into an A by using a paint pen in Aqua because there is only one letter of each. If you want to use these for a title you may want to keep that in mind. Changing the letter was easy but some letters are so much easier to adjust than others. By adding the tile stickers from the Shimelle sticker pack, helped keep my title cohesive and matching without much thought. I love when my kit as a variety so I don't have to go searching through tons of alphas to match the page I am making. The alpha tile sheet has tons of letters to make multiple titles. I also added another sticker from the booklet to add to the title. I love when titles are long and pieced together. Can I just say I am in love with the amount of stickers in this kit!! I definitely will not run out of stickers this month. I layered a couple of pieces of patterned paper behind my photo and I decided to use dimensional tape on the photo as well. I wanted to have a bit of a shadow under the photo, and hopefully show off a bit more of the hand stitched circles peeking out from under the photo. There are so many pieces in this kit to use as embellishments. I pulled some of the flower stickers, some of the Pretty Little Studio phrase stickers and one of the Pretty Little Studio Hello Heather die cut words. I added two clusters on either side of the photo, as well as a small cluster on the top page for interest. By keeping the clusters simple it adds a little extra color but still brings your eye to the main focus, the photo and the stitching. I used lots of the bright pink enamel dots all over my spread. I used then in the flowers, I used them near the title and on the dots too. They are so much fun. They are the perfect finishing touch to my spread. I am also using the Shimelle paper clip shapes to mark my page. I love how well it works with the colors on my page too. There is something satisfying about a color cohesive spread. Thank you for joining me today. Don't forget to check out the Clique Kits Holiday kits.
