Hello everyone!! It's Isa today on the blog and I am here today with a new layout inspired by...my love for copta books! Since I discovered them and mastered how to make them I haven't stopped making them! I feel soooooooo relaxed when I make them! You cannot imagine that! It's like my creative yoga. That is why I felt inspired by the picture of the layout to create it. It is a picture that a good friend of mine took after a whole day teaching coptic binding in her scrapbooking store in Barcelona. For this layout I have used the wonderful collection Imagine by Wilma Rodriguez for Mintopia Studio. You can find all the products of this collection and more from this brand here. I have used ripped stripes of paper from the collection which I sewed with my sewing machine. I also did some fussy cutting for the flowers that I have used to decorate the project. For decorating the picture I have used a dolly and some die cuts from the Imagine collection. For the title I have used the puffy alphabet that comes with the Imagine collection. To add some finishing touches to the layout I have added some puffy stickers to decorate and also I have glued some sequins from the Imagine collection itself. They add some elegance and shiny to the project, although I have to confess that it was hard to glue them, LOL!
I hope you liked this project and that scrapbook and your creations inspire you to document these wonderful creative moments. See you soon with new projects! Take care. Love, Isa

Hello friends, Emma here again sharing my passport designer layout 'Escape'. I don't know about you but I always find large print patterned papers a bit tricky to use, so I was determined to find a way to make it work for my layout. I'm super pleased with the results & I hope you like it too. I began my layout by adding hand-stitched details to the big blue floral patterned paper from the Cocoloko Souvenir collection in 3 strands of DMC pink thread. I then selected sections of the paper to cut out so that I could create shaker windows, backing them with clear acetate. Next I used foam tape around the cut out sections to create the depth needed for the sequins to move around. Using a pink patterned paper from the same collection as my background I carefully position my sequins in place by peering through the windows before adhering the 2 pages together. I then mounted my photo on many layers of patterned paper from the same collection & created a couple of tags to add to the layers. Using red-line tape I adhered my acrylic 'Escape' title to the bottom of my photo. To finish I added lots of the cute sentiments from the Souvenir collection & Elle's Studio Tiny Everyday Label stickers, some enamel dots & a sprinkling of Nuvo Vintage Drops. Hope this layout inspires you to use those patterned papers you might find a bit tricky & don't forget to share it with us at Clique Kits. Products used in this layout:
Hi guys! Jodie here with you today with a classic black, white and gold card set. One thing I love about a scrapbooking kit is the ability to pull different elements from it to create a totally different mood in your projects for the month. This card set is completely different to the bright and fun travellers notebook layout and the sweet mixed media style travellers notebook spread that I've created with the November Seneca Falls Main Kit already. The main elements I've pulled from the kit for these cards are the Amy Tangerine Hustle & Heart gold foil die cut specialty paper, the black and white floral paper, and the die cut wreath ephemera piece. I also pulled some essentials from my stash, some white cardstock, black cardstock and a couple of dies. For both cards I used the leafy circle cut file that is the special edition free cut file from the Clique Kits collaboration with Spiegelmom Scraps this week as part of my background. For this card I cut the file in white cardstock on my Silhouette, then trimmed it to the same size as my card. Then I backed each of the leaves with the specialty paper, and adhered it to my card. The November Clique Kits Colour Kit includes the absolutely gorgeous 'Grateful' stamp set from Avery Elle. To create my sentiment I've stamped the Grateful stamp on white cardstock, curving it a little bit so that it fits into the space left by the wreath once it is layered over the top of it. I've also created a shaker pocket with some foam tape and sequins from my stash and some packaging from the kit, and layered the wreath from the ephemera pack (which I've turned upside down so it matches my theme for this project) over the top of that. Then I die cut a bow from the specialty paper and adhered it to the top of the wreath with some gold thread, and called this card done! My second card is really clean and simple, but I love the contrast to it. This time I used the same leafy circle cut file cut from white cardstock, and trimmed it down to half the card size, on the diagonal. I trimmed the black and white paper to be the other half of that diagonal, and edged it with some scalloped black cardstock. I stamped the Thankful sentiment from the Avery Elle stamps onto a die cut circle that I popped up on foam tape, and added a few black splatters. I adore these scripty font sentiment stamps from Avery Elle and I can see me using them a lot in my projects. I was really impressed with how crisply they stamp on the page. I die cut another bow from the specialty gold foil paper, slipped a paper clip over the die cut circle and adhered the bow.
I love the contrast of the black and white with the texture of the cut file and pops of gold in these cards. Even if you didn't get a chance to check out the collaboration with Clique Kits and Spiegelmom Scraps this week, you can still pop by the Clique Facebook Group and grab this gorgeous free leafy cut file. Thanks so much for dropping by today! So, I had a dilemma this month. I have 5 beautiful girls to scrapbook, including pictures I took with them wearing pink and black. Study Abroad is definitely NOT pink lol!! What's a girl to do right?! Well, I decided to scrapbook out of order..... again. I actually do this all the time because lets face it, not all my current pictures will coordinate with what Clique Kit I'm working with right now. So, I created a quick pocket page layout with a couple photos of Sari from Kindergarten that I hadn't done. (It had to be quick this week my friends... all three of my little girls have yucky bronchitis right now!! BLA!!) These two pictures were outtakes and ones I didn't scrap. No reason really, other than Sari was making some silly faces. I guess that made these photos perfect for this month! I created my layout with my Project Life page protectors. I added a few of our Clique Kits exclusive printables, along with filling a big pocket with some fabulous Clique Kit Study Abroad sequins and Pink Fresh Studio color block wood veneers. Short and sweet today CK friends!! Thank you for spending your time with us today!! Click.Create.Connect. The Clique Kits Girls Hello all! Jody here today with two orders of scrappy, fun business!! First up our winners from our last Pep Rally!! This month's Pep Rally challenge was "Captured on Film" where we were challenged to use a viewfinder, film stripe or document something with that overall 'feel'. This month was especially difficult to choose our winner, because our subbies were totally rocking this challenge!! After much deliberation, this month's challenge winner is Danielle de Konink. You can check out her fabulous layout and blog Pics and Cheesecake. Congrats Danielle!!!! Next up, our comment winner is Lynn Darda with the lovely blog From My Bungalow!!! Thanks so much of hanging out with us Clique Kits girls Lynn! We appreciate the support of our followers and appreciate all your sweet comments on our blogs! You'll each get a $10 credit to our Clique Kits store to start shopping or save it for something bigger! Just email us at cliquekits@yahoo.com. Plus our 25% off sale is going on through Sunday, August 3rd at midnight!! It's a perfect time to scoop up some goodies with product credit + a sale!! The sale code is AUGUST25. Next, I'm sharing some fun pocket-style pages using my Project Life page protectors and Simple Stories SN@P cards! These SN@P cards make it so super easy to put a fast layout together. For these layouts I used Simple Stories HER SN@P Cards and added sequins, punched shapes, cork elements (from Clique Into Summer), Simple Stories DIY Clear Photo Stickers and some lovely Studio Calico Alphas (pink, lower right photo). The HER SN@P cards complimented our June Kit, Show and Tell perfectly! If you're interested in picking up Show & Tell, now is the time!! There's only one left in stock! GO HERE :) You probably recognize the 12x12 layout on the left from this post in June. I had several more photos I wanted to incorporate so I decided to use a pocket page on the opposite side, which worked out perfectly. I love it when a two page spread comes together like this! I feel like I haven't done a two page spread in awhile! Here are some close ups! One thing I love to do, besides add lots of layers, is to add alpha and phrase stickers right onto my photos! This is a perfect way to utilize that 'white space' in a photo. By white space I'm talking about an area of your photo not occupied by the subject of your photo. For a good example of this, take a look at the photo of my Abby and Hannah in the lower right corner of the pocket page. Aren't these pocket pages fun! They're very easy also, just add a SN@P Card, layer some punched shapes and you're good to go! If you'd like to learn more about adding more fun things to your pocket pages, like sequins and memorabilia, I'd encourage your to take our Clique Into Summer workshop! It may say "Summer" in the title, but the techniques are good year-round. It's an awesome 12 week, self-paced workshop that covers a wide variety of topics including pocket pages, photography, meaningful journaling, watercolors and more! The workshop itself is actually FREE to our fabulous subscribers and only $15.00 to everyone else. That's jam packed full of creative fun just for YOU! Here's the link ~ CLIQUE INTO SUMMER so you can check it out. (Note, the actual kit is sold out but you can use your stash to work through the entire workshop!) I have one more quick pocket page to share with you. I created it with all my scraps from my April Kit, Debutante. I had some papers, printables, exclusive Clique kits flair and foam Amy Tangerine Thickers left, so I decided to create a pocket page with them. Here's what I came up with by adding some Studio Calico wood veneers, stickers from my stash and additional sequins. Thanks so much for spending your time with us today!! I hope my pocket pages inspired you to grab some Simple Stories SN@P cards while they're on sale! That's in addition to our extra 25% off discount with code AUGUST25. The extra 25% off sale only runs through Sunday, August 3rd at midnight friends, so be sure to go grab some goodies. The Simple Stories SN@P cards won't be restocked!! Also, don't forget about our fabulous Design Team call going on now! All the details are HERE!
Happy scrappin' my friends! ~ Jody Happy Easter friends! This bright pink watercolor look paper with the big white brush stroke "Love" is such a versatile paper- I love that Debutante does not have a 'theme' and it leaves the creative possibilities wide open! For example, Plus One is in no way an "Easter" collection, but I was able to use it as one. In order to make this an "Easter" page, I followed Jody's tutorial from the other day to die cut some cute felt bunnies. If you missed it, it is here. If I am going to invest in a collection, I want to know that it will work with any number of themes, and most of all, the everyday stuff! The Clique Kits philosophy is to design kits with this in mind. I also used my Amy Tangerine/American Crafts "Duplicate" embossing folder with some vellum to create a unique looking layer. First, I embossed the vellum while at the same time printing with gold letterpress ink right in the embossing folder! This technique does not give a perfect "letterpress" design but does give a random, somewhat distressed looking print. I then went over some of the cameras with my watercolors to add more pops of the colors in my patterned papers. I have also been getting tons of mileage from the added printables and die cuts in this kit. It still blows my mind how much more I am using Debutante than any other kit I have ever bought! We wanted Clique Kits to help us move from our old habits of hoarding more supplies than we use, to being efficient, productive, and doing so much scrapping we use our favorite products up! Judging from Debutante so far- I think we are off to an excellent start! Stay tuned for the Pep Rally when the Clique Kits Gals and the Honor Society will be showing you even more ways to use your kit. It's taking place Wednesday, April 23rd starting here on the blog. Join us ! -x Gia It's a 'howdy' kind of day today! I think it's because I pulled out my cowgirl boots for the first time in awhile. Love them! In case you didn't figure it out yet, it's Jody here today! Speaking of pulling things out that I haven't used in awhile ..... I finally printed my Christmas photos, finally! Yup, I'm scrapbooking Christmas in April. Why not! There really shouldn't be any rules about this type of thing in scrapbooking, at least not in my text book. There's a time and place for chronological order, but not here my friends. Not when you're photos and papers inspire you to create with them, no matter what your subject or season happen to be. On the note of breaking some rules today, I've created something for Christmas with our Spring kit, Debutante... What?! Yup, rule breaker alert! It's totally OK to use 'non-Christmas' papers to create a holiday project, in fact we highly encourage it!! I know some of my friends need a permission slip to do this sometimes, which is completely understand. I've been stuck in the "I have to scrapbook in order" rut, but no more. Case in point >>>> look below! Does this black and white paper look familiar? It's the 'B' side to this Amy Tangerine paper, Soul Mate, which is in our Debutante Kit!! A few weeks back, I did a post about whether you were an 'A' or 'B' and shared that I'm mostly a B........side scrapper that is. So, which would you choose of the Soul Mate paper? Here's my Christmas layout using the Soul Mate paper. You'll notice a difference in the color of the two images. This is just due to one being a digitized image from the website and the other is an actual photo. So, there's nothing wrong with your eye, at least today. I love that our kits are colorful, but also have a great balance of neutrals. This is the beautiful thing about our kits peeps! All it took to get this layout into the holiday spirit were a few red elements. Easy peasy. My 'go-to' red string is by May Arts, which I also carry in my Etsy Shop here. It's a perfect 1/32 of an inch thick and adds just the right pop of color and texture on any project I'm working on. Next, I added some red metallic sequins, a bingo chip and a heart from Freckled Fawn (thank you again Gia!). I also added lots of die cuts from the exclusive cut files which came with the kit subscription. Speaking of those cut files & printables, they should be our Clique's email boxes right now! Here are a few close ups too :) I love how the May Arts burlap string looks like it's floating across my layout. If you're wondering how in the world I attached the May Arts burlap string, it's pretty simple. I used a few daps of Aileen's Tacky Glue in several sections and let it dry for a bit. This is seriously one of my favorite glues everyone. It's great because it dries clear, not expensive at all and is thick so it really holds onto your embellishments such as wood veneers, sequins and ribbon! You can find it at any hobby store and use your coupon. I hope you were inspired today! Go look at your Debutante kit, or through your stash, at those non-holiday papers. Now, really take a good look at them and I'm willing to bet that you can see them in a different light. I know you all have papers that you can totally use for those holiday photos even though your paper isn't specifically holiday themed!

Happy Scrapppin'! ~Jody Welcome back to the blog for another day of Debutante Week ! Today you are here in the Art Studio with me, Gia! Do you love color? I do !! We live in such a colorful world, and the fact that there are so many possible hues makes me giddy just thinking about it! Not only can color make me giddy, it can make me feel a lot of different things! Warm or cool, tranquil or energetic, hopeful or sad, whatever the mood-there's a color palette that "speaks" its language visually. Thanks to the internet and websites like Pinterest, it is so easy for creative types to find visual inspiration nowadays, and scrapbookers are no exception. I decided to show you how I used a mood board to create a layout. What could be more fun than a little girl twirling in a twirly dress in Springtime? How about two little girls! Here are the three adjectives I used to guide me in my search for an inspiring visual. 1. carefree 2. vibrant 3. sweet And here is what I came up with: Even though the dominant color in this layout is my current favorite neutral (grey) with lots of black and white, the colors from the "Pool Party" palette were easy to pull from my kit as they are found throughout Amy Tangerine's Plus One collection and really add that "pop" of color.
Here is my supply list for this page: From Debutante kit: Amy Tangerine Plus One patterned papers, Freckled Fawn acrylic arrow, Freckled Fawn glitter star pick, Clique Kits yellow "Play" flair, black triangle/arrow washi tape (which I sliced in thirds to give it a 'lighter' feel), Amy Tangerine Thicker words, yellow sequins, and Pinkfresh Studio yellow color block heart wood veneer. And a few extras: Handmade crochet heart gifted to me by Lacey Igo Gasper (if we all beg maybe she will make these available to the Clique all the time!) Additional washi tape by Papyrus. Acrylic camera embellishment (exclusive Amy Tangerine embellishment from a class kit.) Pink camera paper clip and transparency 3 x 4 cards from Freckled Fawn. Silver striped vellum from Stampin Up and resin bird from Close to My Heart. Yesterday, Lacey showed us some ideas for using sketches for inspiration for pocket page cards. I absolutely love making my own cards, don't you? So in case you missed it, check it out here. And now you have seen another easy way to kick it up a notch in no time flat on your layouts by using a mood/palette board with your Clique Kit! -xGia Hellloooo everyone! Jody here today with a boy layout! Seriously!! I scrapbooked about this little blue-eyed charmer, our nephew Wyatt. Not only did I create a boy layout {for once, lol} I challenged myself to get it done~fast! My nights are super busy these days and sometimes all I get is 15-30 minutes to create. So, on Sunday night I did this entire layout in 28 minutes. The key... I didn't fuss over it. Oh, and don't you just want to squeeze Wyatt's cheeks!!! Here's the play-by-play for todays 30 minute dash ~ I started with a 12x12 Amy Tangerine paper from her Cut & Paste line. This paper design has the upper 3/4 of the paper being an off-white and the bottom 1/4 being pink, red and yellow striped. I wanted to cover up the pink stripe on the background paper completely, so I used the nifty blue edge stripes on ends of 12x12 papers no-a-days. Such a clever thing the paper companies did to create less waste! No more pink, just like that. Next, I laid out Wyatt's photo closer to the bottom quarter of the page and trimmed the red and white dot paper to 6.5" by 4.5". I placed it behind the photo and tilted it. Then, I surrounded Wyatt with fun arrows, a glassine envelope filled with blue metallic sequins and gold stars, some fun word elements cut from the papers and a handmade journaling card by Lacey!! I didn't putz with these elements, I placed them and left them alone. I know that's tough for many of us to do, but give it a tray! Our clever Clique Kits girl, Lacey, sewed some fabric scraps right onto a 3x4 lined journaling card for sweet handmade look. It works perfectly to add some texture and interest to Wyatt's layout. You'll also see some ink splatter in areas. I used some Studio Calio Mr. Huey's in Pinstripe, which is a medium grey. I really like this color when I want just a little ink and nothing too dramatic. Don't overthink it when you splatter your ink. Just unscrew the spray nozzle and give it a little shake over the general area. If you've never used ink before I'd encourage you give it try! If you don't want ink in a certain spot, like your photo, just place a piece of scrap paper over it. Then, just let the ink fall where is may! Here's a closer look at the sewed journaling card by Lacey, who also sent us CK girls some awesome crochet hearts. You also saw the crochet hearts in Gia's Art Studio post, which you can find HERE, just in case you missed it :) Below , check out all the strips of papers and words. The "Moments Documented" strip and the blue grid just above it are those edge pieces I mentioned earlier. If you haven't been using them, look at the ends of your patterned papers and give it a try. Sometimes one side has the actual barcode on it, but then the other side is very usable! The yellow strip with the days of the week is another edge strip, which I popped up using some foam adhesive. This has been another Locker Room play-by-play from me. As Lacey shared yesterday, we'd love to see your Clique Kits inspired projects on our Facebook page!
As we've said before, our kits are being designed so they can be used for boys and girls. Often times, one side of a 12x12 paper is girly with the opposite side being neutral or more boyish. Our goal is to make our kits usable for everyone, regardless if you have 5 girls like me, all boys & a both like many scrapbookers out there! Clique Kits is designed by us, for you. There are still a few subscriptions available so get yours before we sell out! Go HERE to check out the subscription nitty gritty. You can subscribe by going HERE, which is our Clique Kits Store Front. You'll also see new Simple Stories collection packs and SN@P Sets for sale! If you're still on the fence and have questions, please ask us! Keep you your mobile devices handy this Friday, February 21st for another Clique Kits blog share, featuring Amy Tangerine!! See ya then! ~ Jody |
