Hello Lovelies! Theresa here today and I am so excited to share a layout I did with the Love Stories kit, a special release from the shop for Valentine's Day! Have a look. This kit came with some fantastic goodies from Crate Paper La La Love and Pebbles Loves Me, and I just wanted to use them all! It also included two sheets of really cool vellum. I love working with translucent elements and adding fun layers, so I punched as many hearts as I could from the vellums. Then I punched just as many from all of the patterned papers in the kit. My goal was to add as many of those punched hearts as I could, and I figured the best way to do that was via a radiating circle from the center of the layout. So I adhered the paper hearts and then added the vellum on top with my sewing machine to keep everybody in place. The photo of course is the focal point, and I adhered that slightly to the left of center. This photo was an accidental capture of me and my husband Alan trying to figure out the timer setting on my phone. Our expressions crack me up and that is the inspiration for my title, Are We Doing This Right?! I added the title in keeping with the circle theme around the photo, and then tied that into my journaling. The journaling is all about how sometimes this is how life feels. Sometimes it feels like we don't know what we are doing, and lots of days we really don't know what we are doing (!!!) but we are figuring it out together and I can't imagine doing this life with anyone except him. I also really wanted to include this adorable little sloth, so he is tucked in with the heart doily and heart die cuts. Also notice how I cut the photo to fit inside one of the adorable couple photos from the La La Love collection! I am loving the pop of blue! This was so much fun to create! Thank you so much for joining me today! Have you been playing with your Love Stories kit? We would love to see, so be sure to share and tag us!

Hello Lovelies, Theresa Moxley here today with a fun travel themed layout to share with you! I am working with December's Rainbow kit, which is filled with amazing products from Fancy Pants, so let's have a look. I was inspired by the horizontal strips so I decided to cut that patterned paper partially into strips. I really liked the contrast of the colorful stripes on the A-side, and the black and white on the B-side. So I looped the strips around and created a this vertical element on the left side of the layout. Everything else on the layout is very much horizontal, which creates a unique tension on the layout. I have used the word strips in the die cut pack to introduce text onto the layout and to point towards my photo. My photo is from a trip we took several years ago to Linville Falls in the mountains of North Carolina. This is a great little hike through woods and down a secluded path that opens out onto this beautiful waterfall. Notice how even though the layout doesn't have anything to do with planes, trains, or automobiles, those papers still work because they tell part of the story of our journey. I wanted to play a bit with the other patterns in the kit, so I took a cloud punch and punched clouds. I wanted to balance the vertical element on the left side, so the clouds are arranged vertically and they are joined in a way using the twine. The twine also repeats the black and white. This was such a fun layout and I hope you are inspired to use your Rainbow kits this month! See you again soon! Hello Lovelies, it's Theresa here to share more ideas for our Product Focus. This week we are creating layered embellishments which are just awesome for using supplies and getting layouts completed. I am going to create four assymetrical embellishments using elements from the September Farmhouse kit, plus one layout. To begin with, I chose a photo of our son Addison that I had taken recently for back to school. Addison is our oldest, going into tenth grade this year, and the wood grain, green, and yellow in this kit suit his photo well. I laid down a layer of gesso and some paint splatters onto my page, just to break up the wood grain and lighten my layout a bit. My photo is vertical, so I knew I wanted an assymetrical layout with photo on one side. I grabbed a few extra things from around my desk and started laying some elements around the page, and realized I could do several assymetrical layered embellishments inspired by this one layout. We will come back to the layout, but let's create these embellishments first! These are the items I used to create these strips:
These are the four embellishment strips laid out for you to see. I created each one to be oriented in a different direction and the idea is for the strips to border on the edge of a photo or on the edge of your patterned paper. I love this idea because once they are all done I can create four different layouts! Each strip began with the patterned paper or marketing strip from the papers in the kit. They are the home base for the embellishment cluster and everything else grew from there. For the cluster above, I added the punched starbursts underneath the strips, a leaf and banner die cut, and word art. The word art is adhered using pop dots to add dimension. I also wrapped a bit of twine around my fingers and adhered that underneath all the layers as well. For the next cluster, I again began with the patterned papers and a doily. This one is a vertical orientation, so I added a die cut arrow, a leaf, and some word art. Using the doily on this one gives a great home base for the horizontal word art so it doesn't look out of place. Instead of using chipboard I used one of the flair buttons included in the kit! Again the twine adds more texture to the piece. My third embellishment starts with patterned papers and a doily, and this time I have added a banner, the ribbon, and a chipboard piece. This one has a horizontal orientation and the photo could go above on the layout, or the cluster could go at the top of the page. For my layout, I chose to use a vertical cluster. This one uses two strips of patterned paper and three shaped labels punched from the yellow patterned paper. I also added a leaf, heart, and banner from the die cuts, plus a chipboard embellishment. Notice the banner overlaps the photo a bit, and the arrow on the heart points inward toward the photo. Again twine peaking out from underneath it all adds more dimension and ties all these elements in with the background. Of course my layout also need a title and journaling, which was so easy to add. I used the Pinkfresh Studio alphabet in the kit and repeated the vertical direction on this layout. Everything on this layout leads your eye upwards! Here is another look at the full layout. The best part about having this layout done is knowing that I can easily create three more layouts using these embellishment clusters! How about you? Have you been creating with your Farmhouse kit this month? We would love to see, so be sure to share with us on social media and use #cliquekits. Hello Lovelies, Theresa here to share a layout using the August 2018 Sketch! I am working with all the beautiful papers and embellishments from the August Meadow kit today. Here is a look at the sketch. Working with a sketch is such an awesome way to get a fantastic layout done without having to worry about the design work. No worries, though, you can absolutely make a sketch your own just by making some minor tweaks and changes as you like. This is my layout I have created! Notice how I took the ribbons from one of the patterned papers and turned them on their side to follow the sketch. I still have a central element just as the sketch, but I have made it my own using the papers in the kit. As I was creating this layout, I cut out the ribbons from the paper and considered adding them to a contrasting color cardstock, but in the end a neutral cream background won out. I also looked around to find all the butterfly punches and dies I had in my stash, and used other patterns in the kit to create butterflies. I have layered those on the edges of the ribbons on the page, and once I have lightly adhered them to the page, I sewed them down. This is the layout with the butterflies sewn down. To make the ribbons pop, I used white thread and a smaller stitch, and just ran the seams right over top of each butterfly. I love the vertical element of this sketch and layout, and love that the stitching and butterflies amplify this. The sketch called for an embellishment on the upper right side, so I have added a few of the Heidi Swapp word stickers and my date stamp. My photos are from a trip we took several years ago to St. Simons Island, GA. This is at the pier on a windy, cloudy day. The photos are a bit dramatic, just like the ribbons on my page. I love the moodiness of these photos. I am loving the dimension and the splatters of color in the butterflies. The sketch called for embellishments in the lower left of the layout, so I have added the butterflies and a bit of my journaling here. I also added my title using the Heidi Swapp handwritten words. The upper left side of the layout seemed to float off the page, so I added just the tiniest word stamps to keep us visually connected to this side of the layout. Here is another look at this pretty creation. Have you used the August sketch this month? Let us see! Be sure to share and tag us. Thank you so much for joining me today. See you again soon.
