Hello friends! I have a fun sketch to share with you today! It's super fun and I think you will be inspired! Lately, I've been into strips of papers or stickers... I see this style all over Instagram. Here is what I came up with for this month's sketch. I added watercolor inks to the background. Super fun! To create the background, I added a few drops of ink onto leftover packaging and smeared it all over the white cardstock. I made sure to let the first color dry first before applying the other color. Once the ink was completely dry, I cut the patterned paper to measure 8 1/2x11. Then, I cut the cardstock to measure 7 1/2x10 and mounted them together. I cut the paper strips from patterned paper from Pinkfresh Studio. I actually mixed kits to create this layout. The patterned paper strips is from the Happy Blooms Sampler Kit and the embellishments are from the Some Days Kit. Initially, I was not going to include the stenciled stars, but I felt like I needed to add another color... therefore, I decided to splash some black watercolor ink all over the layout and then I used The Crafter's Workshop's Sparkle Slimline Stencil to add the stars. I love the smiley face chipboard! I had to find a way to add it to this layout. :) It makes me happy. And I like the little blue house, too. What do you think? Are you ready to give this sketch a try? If you're not comfortable with the mixed media part of it, you can still create a beautiful layout using parts of the sketch as inspiration. Hello friends! I've been going through my stash, putting beautiful papers and stickers to good use! I'm determined to use up my stash before buying more papers and embellishments, but it's so hard! Today I'm sharing a simple layout I created using some fun papers and stickers from PhotoPlay. To begin, I cut the blue patterned paper to measure 8 1/2x11 and then the printed paper to measure 7 1/2x10. Next, I mounted them together using adhesives. I cut a variety of mats from Cocoa Vanilla Studio's Fun and Games patterned paper to frame the photo. I created the tag using a metal tag die and added the ribbon. I used foam squares for a few of the stickers to add dimension to the layout. I cut the wild sentiment from the cut-apart journaling card paper. I was going to color it in with markers, but decided I wanted to leave it black and white since I already had lots of colors on this layout. Th puffy stickers are from my stash. Isn't Henry to the cutest with his blond hair. I just love him to pieces. The papers really show his personality on this layout! They are so perfect for boy layouts! Thank you for visiting today!
Happy Friday! I love it when I can use a color photo that looks great on the layout...especially with a lot of color! I love the photo with the hand mural...and I really did not want to change it to black and white to make it work for my layout. Sometimes, it can't be helped... but I happened to have some papers from Vick Boutin and it's perfect! I used papers and embellishments from Vicki's Color Study Collection to complete this fun, colorful and lively layout. The products were given to me from Clique International and there may be a few embellishments left in the shop... click here to grab it! This gorgeous collection flew off the shelf. It's that pretty and awesome... I love the color wheel paper, but I had to cut it down to make it work for me since this layout isn't 12x12. I decided to cut it in half and use it as a fun border. I created the tag using Elle's Studio's metal Nesting Tag Die! Metal dies come in handy for when you are looking for a particular embellishment you do not have... simply make it using some patterned paper. Elle's Studio has some really great metal dies. Check them out here! Seriously, these embellishments!! And those gorgeous flowers! I added the gems to the flowers to make them sparkle. I used foam squares to mount down some of the stickers to add dimension. I do not like my layouts looking "flat." So when I'm using a lot of die cuts and stickers, I use foam squares and they work great! I layered the flowers onto a floral die cut using foam squares. I could use a few more of these babies! They were hard to use because I love them so much. I used some die cut labels at the bottom to help tell my story along with a tiny bit of journaling. I added some black watercolor ink platters and scribbled some ink here and there just for fun. What do you think? What collections have you been using lately? I want to hear... leave a comment! Thanks for visiting today! Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Happy weekend everybody. I hope you had a great week! I've managed to find some time here and there to scrap this week and I really needed it... it really helps me relax and de-stress! Today I'm sharing this layout I created using the beautiful Happy Blooms Sampler Kit and the Happy Blooms Floral Die Cuts. The patterned paper in this kit is sooooo pretty! I love the color scheme so much. It's so serene and I thought it matched the photo perfectly. I tucked some die cuts slightly behind the photo and journaling tag. I love the simplicity of this layout and how feminine it looks. So pretty! I used a piece of lace ribbon from my stash to die through the tag to make it more pretty. The left-side seemed too flat so I used a metal floral border die to create the pink floral strip. I think it adds just the right touch to the layout! What do you think? I'm sure this beautiful kit is going to fly off the shelves so grab it today before it does! It's a beauty for sure. Thank you so much for visiting today!
Good morning! Nicole here with a layout I created using a mixture of Amy Tangerine papers and Heidi Swapp from the shop! Who would have thought the two would work so well together. To begin, I cut the colorful floral print paper to measure 8 1/2x11. Then I cut the cream floral paper to measure 7 1/2x10 and matted them together with the smaller rectangle placed in the center of the layout. I placed several die cuts across the middle of the layout to create a frame for the photo. Once I was satisfied with the placement, I tucked a few embellishments here and there using foam squares to add dimension. I fussy cut the leaves and flower from a scrap pieces of paper and mounted them at the top of the page, tucking them behind the frame to add more layers. Love how pretty the cluster of flowers and leaves look together. What do you think? Do you normally mix patterns together? It's one of my favorite things to do! Thanks so much for visiting today!
Good morning! Nicole here. It's been awhile since I shared a layout on the blog. I have been creating lots of projects, but needed to take photos etc. I finally found some time to play catch up! And I'm excited to share this layout with you today! Have you seen the Limited Edition Book Club Kit? I just love it so much!! I especially love the patterned papers in this beautiful collection. It's super cute and it's still available in the shop. Grab it now... before it sells out. I did a bit of fussy cutting for this layout... the books, pots, journaling card and greenery were all cut from the papers. I used foam squares to pop them on the paper for added dimension. I glued the wood veneer "Book Lover" embellishment onto the photo and then used a black pen and ruler to hand doodle the frame. To complete the layout, I cut the book image from a sheet of patterned paper and then added the stamp along with the chair and plants to fill in the white space at the bottom. What do you think? Isn't this kit adorable? I just love everything about it! Thank you for visiting today!
Good morning. Nicole here! For those who may not know me, I am a recycler. I recycle whatever I can in my house. I have two trash cans in my kitchen. One for trash and the other for recycled goods. Whenever I receive a nice box, I keep it! There are so many things you can do with boxes. You can keep them for the next time you need to ship something out or alter them! Let me show you how I altered my Heidi Swapp boxes. I think they turned out fun! To begin, I painted the top, bottom and sides of the box with white gesso from The Crafter's Workshop using a paint brush. I let the gesso dry for about an hour. Then, I grabbed my stencil from the Orchid Stencil Butter Kit along with the stencil butters to create a floral pattern on the box. You will want to use a palette knife for this and clean it with a wipe in between colors. If you prefer to use acrylic paint, you can use a sponge to dab all over the stencil with the paint! Move the palette knife from top to bottom slowly, while being careful not to move the stencil. Carefully, lift the stencil from the bottom and lift it up to avoid smearing your stencil butters. Isn't it pretty!? I used stamps and black ink to stamp around the box. Then I rubbed some black ink around the edges of the box to grunge it up a bit. The next time you are about to throw out those boxes, think twice! Who wouldn't like to receive a box like this? Totally fun! Don't forget to grab a few stencil butters from the shop! Thank you so much for visiting today!
Hello everyone!! I don't spend much time on Pinterest these days, but when I do...man am I inspired! I could look at all the pretty images for hours. This month, I drew inspiration from a few different images. The colors are so beautiful and they are all so delightful! I was really drawn towards the fuchsia. The color is sooo pretty! What do you think of these images? Aren't they beautiful! To create the background I used the Fuchsia Stencil Butter and the Peruvian Lily Stencil to add some gorgeous flowers! When applying the Stencil Butter through the stencil, it is a good idea to tape down the stencil using washi tape to prevent the stencil from slipping. If you chose not to tape down the edges, be sure to hold the stencil at the top and gently pull the butter through the stencil. I've done this technique a lot so I did not use anything to hold it down. :) I inked the edges using the black ink to make the colors pop. I really like the contrast between the bright colors with the black. Before I placed the embellishments down, I splashed some black gesso onto the flowers to grunge it up a bit. I cut the flowers out from the A.B. Studio papers. LOVE their papers...seriously, they are so much fun to work with. I especially love their abstract designs. Thanks so much for visiting today!
Good morning! Nicole here with a fun layout I created using the Phoenix Add-on Kit that's available in the shop!! Loving all of the "Quarantined" stickers in this kit. They are perfect for documenting Quarantined life... This month, we have a fun sketch for you! Turn it side ways or upside down...any direction you want and see what you come up with! There are so many possibilities with this sketch! Most importantly, just have fun with it! One of my favorite things to do is play with patterned paper and stickers... They are great for fussy cutting, layering and adding interest to any project. I used a few foam squares here and there to pop the stickers up off the page for added dimension. To add a bit of color to my journaling card, I used alcohol markers. I love how it looks!! I drew the exact same colors from the rainbow journaling card. :) I cut a piece of ribbon to tie through the die cut tag to make the tag pop. Then I used a pen to add some journaling. And, I couldn't help myself... I had to find a way to include the toilet paper roll!! Seriously, it's so great! To complete the layout, I scattered a variety of stickers and die cuts across the bottom of the layout. I had so much fun with this...There are lots of cute elements in this adorable kit! Don't miss out... grab it today. Thank you so much for visiting today! Grab your kit today and start sharing your "Quarantined" stories in our FaceBook Group!
Hello everyone! Nicole here with a pet layout I created using Bella Blvd.'s adorable Chloe collection! This collection has the cutest ephemera and patterns. I just love it all! And it is perfect for sharing those precious memories of your fur-babies. To begin, I placed four 6x6 patterned papers from the paper pad onto an 8 1/2x11 white cardstock sheet. I placed them all at angles, hanging off the edge of the page and then cut the excess paper off. I like using this technique because it is such a fun design! Once I was satisfied with the background, I added the journaling cards and photos and then I used embellishments to fill in the white space. :) To complete the layout, I added some stamps and journaling within the label and grid card. I used a few foam squares to make the embellishments pop up from the page. I just love how cute this turned out.
