It's me Valeska here today with a new post: Pinterest Please! Using Pinterest to find something inspiring is not a difficult task, I really love Pinterest and all the beautiful photos and ideas shared in there. But to inspire me in scrapbooking, sometimes is easier to look for something different other than scrapbooking ideas. I rather look for home decor,  mood boards, collages, etc. Those photos are more inspiring for me to make the idea for the layout.
This peach and blue mood board was my inspiration that I found in Pinterest.

In addition to the colors, I was also inspired by the triangular shape of papers, envelopes and pillows, and also by the flowers.

I used Buenos Dias Sampler Kit by Obed Marshall and American Crafts. This kit is so colorful and bright, with amazing elements, like acrylics embellishments, puffy stickers and a lot of beautiful die cuts.

I sewed triangular cutouts from two patterned papers and a white cardstock with yellow thread, and then pasted the white cardstock onto another textured blue cardstock. The triangular cutouts are also glued to the white paper with 3D stickers to add volume to the page.

On the white cardstock, I applied gesso to waterproof the paper and then I used Distress Oxide with water (colors: Mustard Seed, Broken China and Faded Jeans) to give more color to the project.

Arranging the die cuts around the page, is one of my favorite part. I love adding  flowers everywhere, I think you already realize that, right?
Finally, when you think it's done, I always find time and space to use Nuvo drops...

By the way, this city is Guimaraes in Portugal and at the bottom of the photo you can see a piece of the Castle of Guimaraes. I really enjoyed this trip with my family!

Valeska here today sharing a 12x12 layout made for our blog category "Let's go". The idea is to share with you something about a journey or road trip, and some curiosities about the place or event. 
I chose a sweet memory from my son that was when he finished his first young triathlon competition in Daytona Beach in December 2020.
This competition is called Challenge Daytona and takes place once a year in the city of Daytona Beach, Florida. The great thing about it is that the competition takes place at the Daytona International Speedway circuit. Imagine the thrill of running on the track where cars go super fast ... it's amazing!

Now, let's talk a little bit about the project and how I created it.
I used only two patterned papers from the Best Kid Ever Limited Edition kit, I decided to mix only the Cocoa Vanilla Studio papers that you will find in the kit.
On a white cardstock, I made some mixed-media with blue and orange watercolor.
I cut one of the papers into large triangles, used the front and back of the paper, and sewed them on the white cardstock with orange thread to highlight.

I also decided to use Paige Taylor's cut file (BRAVE) and lined it with patterned papers from the  paper card sheet. Besides that I sewed a few times on top of the cut file to give it even more volume and texture, so I glued it  with 3D stickers.

Also you can find in the kit, enamel dots that goes perfectly with the color palete, and I love to use them in my projects. Some elements that I used in this layout I already had in my stash, like phrase stickers and some embellishments. 

I placed the photo practically in the middle of the layout, and added layers of paper behind it and glued it with 3D stickers as well to gain more volume. I like to use this feature so that our eyes fall directly where it is highlighted.
