Happy September! It is Ali here with you today being inspired by Vicki Boutin's new collection, Color Study. If you haven't purchased it yet, I advise you to rush to the shop and buy whatever is left. You will want two of everything if you are like me! This picture was taken of me in Las Vegas at the Seven Magic Mountains. I went there with two friends to run the Rock and Roll Half Marathon. We made a little detour to check out these bright fun boulders and love how bright the colors are in this photo. You can also notice the shadows of the other people checking out the exhibit. I was holding on to this picture for the last couple years because I was waiting for the perfect paper and embellishments to match these boulders. Well it was worth the wait! I am in love and inspired with Vicki's new collection. I used two of her packaging inserts to create that rainbow burst coming out of the photo. I glued one of them flat to the mixed media background and cut the other package insert apart. I used foam tape to pop some of the colors off the page. I also used white stitching rub ons to add a little more texture to the rainbow burst. I love how all that color is radiating right off this page. I completed the layout with stickers and ephemera from this collection. I hope this inspires you to add some color to your layouts.
Dont forget to check out the Add-On Kit | Vicki Boutin Color Study Embellishment Kit | American Crafts (cliquekits.com) in the shop. Live colorfully! Love, Ali xoxo

"Hello Clique Friends! It's Isa today on the blog and I want to present you a new layout that I have made experimenting with tons of things that I had at home and wonderful products from the Clique Kits shop. First of all, for this layout I used as a base 12x12 precision white paper that you can find on the shop here. And then I played with the collection of my friend Mima Molina "Love on Top". What I have done first for this layout is to create the background. I love splatters so I have in my scraproom prepared several pots of acrylic paint (mostly black) mixed with water so I can start playing with the background of my layouts. As the base paper that I used is very thick I did not add any gesso before putting the paint in the first place. Once I have the black base of paint, what I do then is to add some drops of paint of different colors that are included in the colors of the papers of the collection I am going to use. I always try to combine these elements so everything is in good tune. Once prepared the first splatters, I decided to play also with other elements. I used a stencil that you can find in the "Find me" kit here with some modelling paste to give more volumen to the elements of the background. I also added the stamp that is included int his kit to add diferent elemetns. I stamped the rainbow in black and grey with eome amazing inks you can find on the shop too. As you can see here, creating a background has different phases, but it is so fun to dirty your hands and play with different elements! I really recommend you to do it without thinking and enjoying the process. The result will be amazing for sure!! Once everything is dry I added more pink to the background as I consider that it is a bit dark and the papers are quite colorful to have such a blackish background. The procedure I have followed is the same as with the black acrylic paint. I have mixed it with water and then I have splattered without thinking on the paper. And I have enjoyed it so much! Then to add more details to the background I have taken a black pen and I have added some details in one corner of the layout and some dots where I included all the paint in the first place. Meanwhile this is getting dry I have prepared a cluster of layers with cloth, papers, tags and my sewing machine! I added also some butterfiles that are in the papers, flowers, black thread (as it appears also on the papers) and buttons. I hope you like it! As a title I have used some thickers that I had from past kits, you can take profit of everything! And I have included some words that are included in the papers of collection Love on Top. Here you can see the complete layout. I hope you like it! The picture was taken after I made a photoshoot to change my images in social networks, it was such a beautiful day that I wanted to take thousands of pics! I hope you like it! I hope to be back soon with new inspirations with all the new things coming to the scrapbook universe! Take care!
Lots of love, Isa Hello everyone! It's Isa today on the blog and I am excited to share with you a new project. Today I want to present you a layout I have made creating my own sketch. You can make your own interpretation of this sketch in our Facebook Group, it will be fun! And I hope you like it! For this layout I have created the bakground using acrylic paing mixed with water to make the splatters of the background. I have to admit that I love this technique. I also used some enamel dots taht combine with the colors of the papers. All the papers that I have used for making this layout are from American Crafts and you can find them on the shop at a very reduced price. Here you have the list of papers I have used: All the Colors (http://cliquekits.com/all-the-colors-amy-tangerine-picnic-in-the-park-american-crafts/); Aloha Leilani (http://cliquekits.com/aloha-leilani-amy-tangerine-picnic-in-the-park-american-crafts/); You are My Happy (http://cliquekits.com/you-are-my-happy-amy-tangerine-picnic-in-the-park-american-crafts/); Bright Lines (http://cliquekits.com/bright-lines-amy-tangerine-picnic-in-the-park-american-crafts/); Whole Lotta Love (http://cliquekits.com/whole-lotta-love-amy-tangerine-picnic-in-the-park-american-crafts/); Mindful (http://cliquekits.com/mindful-12-x-12-patterned-paper-dear-lizzy-new-day-american-crafts/) I have torn the papers of the layers so that I can give more volumen behind the picture. I have combined also with the black splatters lots of stitching that I have made with my sewing maching. Iit is something that I always like to include in my projects. I used also flower die cuts from a set from Pinkfresh Studio and the title is a word that was included in the Black and White Kit from Pretty Little Studio.
I have to say that I had lots of fun creating my own sketch and then representing it. I hope you like it and that you participate creating your own layout of it!! See you soon with new inspirations! Lots of love, take care! Isa Hello everyone!! It's Isa today on the blog and I am here today with a new layout inspired by...my love for copta books! Since I discovered them and mastered how to make them I haven't stopped making them! I feel soooooooo relaxed when I make them! You cannot imagine that! It's like my creative yoga. That is why I felt inspired by the picture of the layout to create it. It is a picture that a good friend of mine took after a whole day teaching coptic binding in her scrapbooking store in Barcelona. For this layout I have used the wonderful collection Imagine by Wilma Rodriguez for Mintopia Studio. You can find all the products of this collection and more from this brand here. I have used ripped stripes of paper from the collection which I sewed with my sewing machine. I also did some fussy cutting for the flowers that I have used to decorate the project. For decorating the picture I have used a dolly and some die cuts from the Imagine collection. For the title I have used the puffy alphabet that comes with the Imagine collection. To add some finishing touches to the layout I have added some puffy stickers to decorate and also I have glued some sequins from the Imagine collection itself. They add some elegance and shiny to the project, although I have to confess that it was hard to glue them, LOL!
I hope you liked this project and that scrapbook and your creations inspire you to document these wonderful creative moments. See you soon with new projects! Take care. Love, Isa Hello everybody! It's Isa today on the blog and I am thrilled to present you a new project made by one of the collections of the moment: Imagine, designed by Wilma Rodriguez for Mintopia Studio. It is one of my favorite Spanish brands and for me it's such an honor to work with them for international sites!! On today's post I will show you a layout I've made with papers of the collection and die cuts, playing with watercolors and the layers of papers. You can find the collection and other products from Mintopia here. To start with the project, I made a background with different colors and sets of watercolors. I love them and I love using them for creating backgrounds. I made different drops of paint of different sizes. It is very easy to make once you have it under control, it's just learning how to play with the brush and water and let the magic begin! I used the colors that appear on the papers and die cuts that I use. What I like about this collection is that it has endless combinations of colors. For the layering of the project I have used scraps of paper that I had once I finished a mini album that you will see very soon with this collection. I didn't think much about cutting or measuring them. I always take the picture as my reference and then I start building the cluster of papers behind it. I put some vellum too, thread of different colors (yellow, pink and white) and then to decorate some die cuts and puffy stickers from the collection. For the title of the layout I have used the alphabet of the Imagine collection itself. It's puffy and all the letters have different colors so it combines with mostly everything! I hope you liked this new layout and I hope that you create beautiful things with such beautiful collection. See you real soon with new projects! Take care. Love,
Isa Hello everyone! It's Isa today on the blog and I am very happy to be back here on The Clique blog with a new project. Today's topic of the project is Let's Go and I have prepared a layout using the Serendipia collection by Cocoloko scrap that you can find in the Serendipia kit on the link here. I wanted to make a layout with these pictures because they belong to a holiday I took with my sister, my aunt and my uncle to a small village in the region of Castellon, Valencia, Spain. It was back in 2013 and it was a great summer. I remember specially this trip because we were in a tiny village with only three named streets (YES THREE) and in the morning when I woke up and I opened my windows all I could see were the mountains and pure nature. They were the mountains that I am in in those pictures. I really liked the peace and the beautiful landscapes that we enjoyed there. So it was worth making a beautiful layout with these beautiful pictures that my aunt took of me. To create the background of this layout, I used some pastel color gelatos from Faber Castell. I extended the pigmet with the help of a baby wipe (yes, believe it or not, they are VERY useful in scrapbooking techniques LOL). I cut with different dies in the shape of a circle the papers that I had left from the 12x12 stack of papers from Serendipia and I combined them with some flowers from the die cut set. As a title of the layout I used the word Slow from the die cuts set also from Serendipia from Cocoloko. The word really suits the layout because I can promise all of you that those days were really slow life for me in the good sense. That peace and that environment is something that somebody needs at some point in life just to stop, breathe and think. I really recommend it, especially after the hard times that we are living worldwide. I add some tags on a corner of the layout with a little of journaling. It is something that I don't like adding on my projects, but I am really starting to realize that it is really necessary on layouts to remember good times. I add just some few words to remember where these pics come from. I hope you liked the layout and that you keep beautiful layouts of really beautiful memories. See you soon! Take care. Love. Isa
Hello Lovelies! Theresa here with a layout using the Love Stories kit once again, and also this amazing cut file available in the shop, You & Me. I was so inspired by this file and I just had to go create with it! Here is my layout. Don't you just love when you see a product (or a photo, or an embellishment) and you just HAVE to go make something with it?!? For my layout I decided to gesso the light pink paper so the cut file would pop against the background. Gesso is this amazing fun medium that allows bits of the background to show through in the most magical way! I just apply it with a dry brush to give it a bit of texture. The cut file itself I cut using a blue patterned paper from the kit, from Crate Paper La La Love. Once I had it cut out, I backed some of the negative space in the cut file with a light floral patterned paper, and then I colored in the flowers in the cut file using Jane Davenport glitter pens in Red Sea, Indian Ocean, and Pacific Ocean. I also added these fun dots around the cut file in the same color as the cut file, to add movement and fun to the layout. There is so much happy color on this layout, which makes it so fun to look at! Once the background was all set, it was time to add photo, journaling, and fun embellishments to the page. I had a cute photo of my husband and myself on Valentine's Day of this year, and I pulled in all the heart shaped embellishments to tuck in and around the photo. I also used the heart glitter shaker stickers from the kit, they are so fun and cute! For my journaling I simply added a few sentences directly to the background paper and underlined. This was so much fun to create and I hope you are inspired to use this cut file! We would love to see what you create, so be sure to share online and tag us so we can see! Hello crafty friends! Rita here again to share a layout using the „Lovely Phrases“ Digital Cut File. If you follow Clique Kits on Instagram you probably saw my 12x12'' layout for which I've already used one of the „lovely phrases“: „beautiful day“. Since I had two more (and this is the great thing about this Cut File!), I made another layout. This time I chose „memories“ and a smaller size, 8,5x11''. My photo shows probably the prettiest, but most definitely the most famous street of Salzburg in Austria, the Getreidegasse. I still haven't done a mini album for my Salzburg trip, so I thought I start with a layout for my Project Life Album. The layout was done rather quickly. First I put the photo at the top of the paper, glued the Cut File on and handstitched (this of course took most of the time!) the outline of the word, which makes it really stand out. For the right side of the layout I fussycut some pretty flowers from one of the Pinkfresh Studio „Indigo Hills 2“ papers and combined it with die cutted butterflies and vellum. I really like the simplicity of the layout. I hope you do too and most of all, I hope that you feel inspired to use this beautiful and versatile Cut File. We love to see what you create. Don't forget to share your work with us on Instagram or in our „The Clique“ Group on Facebook. And make sure to follow us on Pinterest for more inspiration!
Happy crafting and see you soon! Hello Lovelies! Happy Valentine's Day from all of us at Clique Kits! Theresa here to share a really fun layering page I made, using the Love Stories kit! I was inspired to use the tags included in the ephemera pack and on one of the cut apart sheets, which are from Crate Paper La La Love. Have a look at the layout I created. I have been seeing so many layouts using cascading elements, it is quite the trend these days! And when I saw all the tags in the kit, I knew I wanted to use them all on my layout. Tags + cascading elements is an excellent combination! I started at the bottom when creating the layers, and added one on top of the other. I recommend removable adhesive so you can move things around. I tried to alternate colors and type with patterned cards so the page was balanced. Some of the tags are adhered directly to the card stock, and others are adhered using different dimensional pop dots. Not only are there so many amazing layers, but even among the layers there are different heights that show the fun elements peeking out! My favorite tag might be the glitter tag, because every layout needs a bit of black and glitter. I tied the glitter tag to the red tag beneath it, and then angled the glitter on purpose so it stands out a bit from the norm. That definitely ties in with our photo! The photo is of me and our daughter Natalie, and in it we are being so silly. I wrote in my journaling about how I feel about her these days, as she is coming into greater awareness about the world around her. I love making these layouts special love letters to our children that they will one day look back on and treasure. For my title I chose to use some of the scalloped word strips, because they are a unique shape and stand out against the rigid edges of the tags. This layout was so much fun to create! Thank you for following along with me today, I hope you are inspired to use up your tags in your kits. See you again soon! I everyone, this is Daniela and I'm super exited to show you my first layout as a member of the brand-new Cut Team today. I grabbed the Summer - July 2016 cut file from the shop and used it several times for my page. I created a background with liquid color on white cardstock because I wanted the words "summer" to appear on bright colors. I cut the words from the same kind of cardstock I used as a background, this was the elements go together quite well. I also arranged little drops around the cut words and placed some bits and pieces on top of the word, this way the page becomes more dimension. I backened the cut words with patterned paper and used diffenernt colors and designes in summerly colors. Using cut files gives you the opportunity to create titles in your own style and colors, that's so great about working with these. Who doesn't know the experience about not finding the perfect alphas in your stash. That is a problem that can easily be solved by using cut files along with paper. All in all, I used the word Summer four times on my layout, but each of them is filled differently. I even left one of them blank as a part of my big title, which is "Favorite Summer Outfit". I used different puffy alphas on top of the word summer and I really like the effect. I really like how this page turned out and can't wait to use more files. Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have great day! |
