CK: First of all, please share the places our readers and fans can find you on the web and social media!
Tania: Instagram : https://www.instagram.com/bemmequercolorido/ Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/BemMeQuerColorido/ About your process… CK: Clique Kits is obviously in love with your work. Can you tell us a little about your inspiration and your creative process? Tania: Everything is good for inspiration, a good movie, a walk at the beach, my backyard, flowers… Most of the times it just flows and when it doesn’t usually I go through by my old projects, check some inspirational Instagram feeds or simply I seat down, relax and wait for the sun comes up next day. CK: What are your ideal surroundings when you are designing? Tania: Location: My craft room Listening to: Different types of music however rock makes me think better Snacking on: Tea in Winter, coffee and chocolate all year around (Lol) Tools within arm’s reach: Glue, Big Shot, washi tapes and punches People/things nearby: Front of me I have a window to my backyard and on my right side have some shelves with inspirational stuffs and a flower Other: have my favorite projects displayed just not to forget the things that I can make CK: What is the hardest thing for paper crafters in your country? What is the best thing? Tania: the hardest thing I think is to make a place and be recognized for what you make. The best thing at least for me is all my crafty friends that I made at this time. CK: Do you have a “go to” … Tania: Color palette? I like to think that no but most of the time browns, earth tans and vintage palettes are around my projects. Embellishment? Flowers. Brand you love? Just one? :D Can´t pick have too many. Tool you use all the time? Dies and Corner chomper About your history… CK: What was your earliest success as an artist? Tania: Teaching classes/workshops and being on my first design team. CK: How did you start as a paper-crafter and designer? Tania: Started when went to the coolest store that existed nearby (“Branco às Cores” was the name). They had several scrapbooking workshops and one day I decided to give it a go and loved it. CK: What was your very first paper crafting memory? Tania: Made a scrapbooking album from scratch for my best friend with photos since she was a child till that time. Decide to use O-Wire but went to a shop to bind my album. They did great with the inner pages and ruin all my covers. Had to do it again (not before crying, crying and crying) Made it, and after that bought my bind machine. That time decide for o-wire because I didn´t knew how to make a spine binding, crazy me for thinking it was the only cool way to bind an album. Now I know how to make it but guess what? I don´t like to use it! No patience at all and there is much more cooler ways to bind an album. LoL About you currently… CK: What have you been doing lately? Tania: Watching on TV: I don´t have Netflix, the cable tv is just fine for now, so without over thinking, I like to watch NCIS, NCIS - New Orleans, Bull, and Criminal Minds. And my romantic side likes the few Hallmark movies that some channels display. Buying: Books, paints and new dies Visiting: Every month I go with my senior students on a field trip. I've already visited almost all Porto museums and important sites, for example. But before this quarantine, I went to Creative World - Frankfurt and Tui (a Spanish city.) Using in artwork: stencils and stamps Wishing for: making projects for Clique Kits About your country… CK: What are some must see cities, landmarks, or locations in your country? Tania: Porto (obviously), Douro Region, Braga, Évora, Sintra and since we are a small country, all cities are close enough to go and know them all. CK: Are there any national or cultural traditions unique to where you live you can share? Tania: We have a few national holidays but will pick just two: “25 de Abril” (April 25th) – Freedom Day - and “10 de Junho” (June 10th) – Portugal and all Portuguese communities around the world day. At Porto, the most known holiday is “Dia de São João” (St. John´s Day) on June 24th . At the night of 23rd to 24th city streets are full of people, music is every where and sardines are a must eat that night. Must say that that night is the longest and most festive night of the city. Thanks so much for allowing The Clique to get to know you better!

Hello everyone! It’s Isa today and I am glad to be back here to present you a new project. Today’s project is a very colorful layout that I have created with acrylic paints. I love playing with acrylic paints and my own hands. Rarely will you see me using brushes! I have used the Unforgettable Kit of Clique Kits with the collection of Cocoa Vanilla Studio, which I think it is fabulous. This kit has sold out! But you can still purchase the 6x8 paper pad of this collection in the Clique Kits shop. For this project, I have used a white cardstock as the base of the project. I have painted with my fingers to make the background using different colors of acrylic paints that combine with the papers of the collection and the picture I have used. Before adding more complements, I added a spray paint in white to add more drops of paint. In the same background, I have added some transparent stickers that are included in the Unforgettable Kit. For adding volume to the picture, it has some layers made with scraps of papers from the collection, and some die cuts to give more colors and fun. Below the picture, I have added some stickers from the Unforgettable Kit with some words. As decorative elements for the project, I put some enamel dots that belong to the same Cocoa Vanilla Studio collection. Finally, as the title of the project I have used the black thicker words that are included in the
Kit, with the words “The Good Life”. As you can see, it is very easy to create great backgrounds with just four colors of acrylic paints. The possibilities are endless. LAYOUT CAPTURED Hey there! It’s Isa again. I am thrilled to be back in the CliqueKits blog with a new layout for today featuring the Unforgettable Kit. Today’s project is a new layout. I had some pictures of my summer holidays and I could not find the perfect papers for the pictures until I received the kit. All the paper combine perfectly with my pictures. As the base of the layout, I have used a white cardstock paper and I have added a stripe of decorative black paper that is sewed that is included in the Unforgettable Kit. I have used it to match a patterned paper with the white cardstock. The patterned paper is wood like and is included in the Kit. I wanted to use colors that are not predominant in the papers of the Kit, so I went for browns and blacks. I used also the word “captured” from the thickers that are included in the Kit. In the superior part of the layout, I have decorated it with some butterflies that are included in the die cuts from the Unforgettable collection, but before adding them in the layout, I have sewed them to make them more visible in the project. I have added also some drops of distress oxide in mint and pink. As the base of the layout, I have used a white cardstock paper and I have added a stripe of decorative paper For the picture, I have added some die cuts as layers and some scraps of paper to give it more volume. As final touches for the project, I have added some enamel dots. I think they are a wonderful complement for any scrapbooking project. I hope you liked my layout and I hope to be back very soon with new things to show you! Lots of love! Isa Products used in Isa's layout:
Isa is an amazing scrapbooking layout designer as well as coptic book creator and mixed media artist. She lives near the famous city of Barcelona in Spain. We interviewed Isa so that we could learn more about our favorite hobby in her country. Read on... CK: How did you first learn about paper crafting hobbies and how did you get started? Isa: Well, I have to confess that since I was a child I have seen my mum and my dad with crafts in general. My mum used to be a teacher and she was paper crafting 24/7 and my father is quite handy so they are the best example for me to follow and I always did things with them. With scrapbook, it was about 10 years ago when my mum decided to take me to a paper crafts festival here in Barcelona. I went with her and a colleague from her school and she already knew what scrapbook was. My mum, following her advice, started buying me all kinds of complements, papers, washi tapes that she could find to get me started. The rest is history. I started searching online, going to workshops and just let my imagination fly and my time. I have to say that scrapbook is my particular yoga and my way of relaxing. It is the best hobby and therapy I could have found. CK: Are you on any design teams? Isa: Yes! Right now I am part of the DT of MissMamamint and Studio Forty. I am really really proud of being part of these wonderful teams. I hope to be a Clique Kits designer for a very long time creating beautiful things! Before I used to work with Cocoloko Scrap also which was a great experience. CK: What are some traditional arts and crafts where you are from or unique to your culture? Do any of these influence your style? Isa: Well, I am not very much into art and traditional stuff from my culture. I am more of an States culture fan LOL! But I have to confess that there are some people from Spain that do scrapbook that have influenced my style since I started. There is a scrapbooker called Mireia Carbonell and she has been my inspiration when it comes to create mix media projects. Everything that I know relating to this issue is thanks to her and I think that my style is quite defined from what I learnt from her. CK: Exciting things to see and do in your city.... Isa: Barcelona is full of great places, if I had to choose only one thing and my favourite one to do is to go for a walk in La Boqueria, which is a traditional market. Its colors, smells, food and all the mix of cultures that you can find there really inspire you. CK: What are some of your favorite manufacturers or businesses for papercrafters in Spain? Isa: My favorites here in Spain are MissMamamint, because their collections are perfect for all the occasions in one’s life. If I have to choose more I’d go with Lora Bailora, Mintopia, Sweet Moma or Cocoloko Scrap. I am really really proud of seeing that the Spanish scrapbook industry is growing successfully and more and more we have more manufacturers here. I also believe that all manufacturers even the smallest ones deserve the opportunity to have market in this wonderful world of scrapbooking. CK: Tell us about your style and your favorite projects to make: Isa: I’d say that my style is a bit a mixture. I like to create projects full of colors, full of paint and watercolors and sometimes I just go for the most clean and simple things. So I like to try a little bit of everything, always with bright and happy colors. My favorite projects to make are layouts. I think they are the best representation of the essence of scrapbooking. Lately I am also into Coptic binding books. They are really addictive! Favorites right now... Food or drink: I love a good Chai Tea Latte and everything my mum is cooking :P Music/musician or group: I am Backstreet Boys fan. The biggest one you can find hahahhaha TV show: My favorite shows are One Tree Hill and Arrow Sport/team: I love the NBA! I watch all the matches I can with my boyfriend and we are starting with the NFL. Fashion Must haves: My converse shoes are a must always and dresses!! Cannot live without them and they are the perfect combination for my casual outfits for working! CK: What are your must have in arms reach supplies or tools? Isa: My watercolors, my acrylic paints, my book binding and crop a dile! CK: Top three on your bucket list.. Isa: 1. Swim with sharks 2. Write a book 3. Going to Disneyland dressed as a princess CK: Where can we find you online? Isa: I used to be active in all kinds of social networks but due to the fact that some social networks look like they are losing popularity or audience, right now I am only active on my Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/_isa_ng_/ and my Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCu2jOhpt_B_LRupAh0ybIg We agree with Isa that Spanish brands contribute amazing products for papercrafters and we share her love for all of the brands she mentioned. Links are provided for shoppers in the U.S as Clique Kits offers a convenient way to try out these amazing brands! Do not let the bilingual language stop you- there are many words and phrases in English and of course the patterns and visual elements speak our universal language...art!
I hope you enjoyed learning more about Isa and that you will leave her some love! -xGia I'm working with the Just A Little Lovely kit featuring the collection of that name by Pink Fresh Studio. Its such a gorgeous kit with lots of florals and so perfect for scrapbooking my girls (I have 3 girls and 1 son). I decided to use one of the cut files that are free from the Pink Fresh Studio Facebook Group. This one with vines was perfect for the photo of my oldest daughter Azaria (aged 10). I took this photo in Arrowtown, which is a town 10 minutes from where I live. It's the most beautiful town in Autumn, when the leaves start to turn, and this photo was from a little photo shoot I did in April with Azaria and Brielle (aged 5). I cut the vines from one of the patterned papers, and backed it on white card stock. I love that the papers in this collection have a watercolour treatment printed on them, its beautiful and saves me the work of mixed media. I had fun layering the acetate flowers, ephemera flowers and puffy flowers behind my photo. I backed another one of the frames with patterned paper and used it for my journaling. ![]() I also made a shaker pocket for the exclusive sequin mix from one of the ephemera frames and some packaging which I machined stitched to turn into a pocket. The layout came together really easily, and one of the puffy words was perfect for my title. I loved making this layout and will be back soon with another. Clique Kits is thrilled to have Amber as one of our monthly guest designers! She has been active in our Facebook group the Clique and we really appreciate her down to Earth keeping it real approach to scrapbooking. Amber chose to design with the Simple Stories Happy Trails Collector's Essentials Kit (now sold out!) This collection was perfect for her summer photos and was a great fit for the activities her family enjoys doing together. Learn more about Amber below in her own words... My name is Amber Prince and I live in hot Tucson Arizona! I have been a nurse for 17 years, and currently work for a fire department. My amazing husband is Dave. He is an amazing step-dad to my two boys Devon (14) and Derek (11) and we have our daughter Adele who is two! We try to make a lot of memories with our kids through activities that meet our kid’s interests, traveling and simpler times like unplugging from the world with camping. I started scrapbooking about 14 years ago when my best friend Crystal introduced me to it. I scrapbook in primarily 12 X 12 layouts and I love to utilize mixed media. I just think it helps make any collection I am working with original to me and the overall layout look complete. I love to scrapbook my family's adventures, travels and milestones; but I especially love to scrap the everyday moments. Just like the belief that a dragonfly is a past loved one coming to say hello… scrapbooking is my way of revisiting and holding on to memories. I scrap the good and bad in life, and utilize my scrapbooking as my journal of the year. -xGia Welcome back for our Clique Kits Student of the Month, Katie Smith's second post this month!! She's back today with some wonderful projects for us. I love how she mixed all the Glam Camp patterns from the My Minds Eye Market Street papers in each of her fun projects. Katie really captured the essence of these beautiful Market Street patterns and combined them beautifully with the earthy textures and glam in Glam Camp. And now for Katie's layouts!! I just adore how she used a pen to accent the elements on her pages and how she added her handwritten journaling. Outlining letter stickers really gives them some more dimension and makes them pop right off your page! Such great details from Katie here. A huge Clique Kits thank you to Katie Smith for playing along with Glam Camp this month and sharing her creative spirit with all of us. You can check out Katie's blog here and see more of her there.
