Happy Friday!! Today I'm sharing a layout I created with the November 2017 Kit (now available for a la carte purchase in our shop). I just love the colors oft his kit and all the adorable little elements. When I pulled out this photo of my two pups I took the other week, I KNEW I had to showcase it using this kit. 

I am never really good at journaling on 12 x 12 layouts. I'm much better in a travelers notebook. But I really try to express the photo in few words or let the photo speak.

For this layout I did just that. My dogs are pretty independent, they don't sit next to each other often with out being a little "crabby" with one another. So when I walked into the family room to see them sitting so close with out fighting, I had to capture the moment.

​All in all, these two are best friends. They spend a lot of time together when my husband and I are not home. They are sad if one needs to leave for the groomer or a vet and the other has to stay home.

In this picture it also looks like they are making a heart. Like I stated above, the picture tells the story.

Gia here to share some of my Traveler's notebook layouts using the beautiful November TN kit: Cornucopia. 

My traveler's notebooks are filled with snapshots of our daily life. Using this format is so much easier for me than trying to do a whole project life spread or even full size layouts. Having a kit makes it even easier to grab supplies ad go whether taking a trip or just having a picnic in the park.

Yes, you read my title right. Simple is sometimes best. I think we put so much pressure on ourselves that a layout needs to be complicated, it needs to take an hour for it to look good. Not true. 

I do a lot of my documenting in my Travelers Notebook these days. I have found the space perfect for my lifestyle. Not only as a time saver (because not all spreads come together in a short span of time), but because my subjects seem limited. I have 2 dogs and a husband. We own a business and there isn't a lot of time for hay rides, water parks, or even vacations. So I document small things that happen daily or a cute picture of my pups. It's us and our life.

So today I want to share two Travelers Notebook spreads using the October 2017 Kit.

Okay, Lets start with a NEW book. My old book was packed. I couldn't even finish the last few pages because it was hard to open, you will see in a picture below.

With my new book I want to focus on flat elements. And remind myself that simple is sometimes best. I attached one of the ADORABLE cards from the kit to the inside of the notebook. Simple, but it's oh so cute!

My first spread uses the kit as well. I thought a great way to start this Travelers Notebook was to just state this is my life, my story. 

As you see, this spread is very simple. I really didn't want to add a lot of "fluff" to this spread.

• I loved the words happy life from the Pretty Little Studio word pack and combined the two. 
• Under my photo I used strips of paper and washi from the Travelers Notebook kit.
• On the opposing page, I used the 12x12 bottom paper strips to add those vertical papers and then felt it needed something more and I added the tag from the Main Kit ephemera and the Pretty Little Studio Sticker.

And that's it! Easy Peasy and I love how it turned out. 

My second spread is actually in my old book. I had to retire this book after it was difficult to keep it open as I was working. I used the October Kit on this spread as well.

The story behind this picture is a day I volunteered at my Alma Mater. I basically live on campus, my house is across the street from it. So I walked to my early morning volunteer job on move in day. I was SO excited about this and talked about it for weeks. My husband was confused why I was so excited. I'm not exactly sure why myself, but I was just excited to be on campus and volunteering to help the new class move in. That is pretty awesome I think.

Again, I kept this spread simple. I love the gold paper with the icons. I felt it was a good "school" representation. I added a few other embellishments and wrote what the picture is from. Simple!

So remember, keep it simple. Don't stress to make something complicated each time you scrapbook.

Aloha!!! Its Hannah with you today!! I am using the October Girl Tribe Traveler's Notebook Kit today. I am loving all the bright and bold colors this kit has to offer.  This is by far my favorite Traveler's Notebook kit to date. There are some really fun pieces like the roll stamps and the Glitter Girl clips that really just brings it over the top. 
   I am working in this month's Traveler's Notebook that came in the Traveler's Notebook Kit. I remember the cover paper from when I guest designed last March. It's so much fun!!
   This month I am going to be trying something new, I am going to build my pages outside my notebook on white card stock and then add them when I am finished with the spread.
   I am hoping to do some special things on my pages that building them separate or outside my TN will give me a bit more freedom, like hand stitching. 
Let's take a look at what I did for this spread!!

I started out by taking a look at the 6x6 pad and choosing a few of my favorite papers.  As soon as I seen the circle paper I knew I needed to punch out those circles and use it for my background. This is a great way to get more out of the smaller paper too. By punching the circles and adding them by hand to the white page you can decide how much white space you want and make a 6x6 paper useable for both sides of the TN. 
  After I added the punched circles across the page I remade holes around all the circles to hand stitch. This process is always a labor of love. It takes time to make holes and go back and stitch. This time I did a basic back stitch, even though it takes a bit more time, it really looks cool . The time is well worth it. Also this type of work can be easily done while catching up on Youtube videos too. Win-Win in my book!!
Here is a close up of some of my stitched circles.

For my title I used the patterned paper with the alphabet on it in blocks. I really love this combo of circles with blocks and angles. The different sizes of blocks are really fun as the title too. To help the title stand out I added foam dimensional adhesive. By popping up a couple of the letters they don't all lay flat and get lost on the background. 
On some of the squares I also made faux stitching with a white jelly roll pen. This will help coordinate with all the hand stitching I did. I also had to turn a V into an A by using a paint pen in Aqua because there is only one letter of each. If you want to use these for a title you may want to keep that in mind. Changing the letter was easy but some letters are so much easier to adjust than others.

By adding the tile stickers from the Shimelle sticker pack, helped keep my title cohesive and matching without much thought. I love when my kit as a variety so I don't have to go searching through tons of alphas to match the page I am making. The alpha tile sheet has tons of letters to make multiple titles. 
I also added another sticker from the booklet to add to the title. I love when titles are long and pieced together. Can I just say I am in love with the amount of stickers in this kit!! I definitely will not run out of stickers this month. 

I layered a couple of pieces of patterned paper behind my photo and I decided to use dimensional tape on the photo as well. I wanted to have a bit of a shadow under the photo, and hopefully show off a bit more of the hand stitched circles peeking out from under the photo. 
There are so many pieces in this kit to use as embellishments. I pulled some of the flower stickers, some of the Pretty Little Studio phrase stickers and one of the Pretty Little Studio Hello Heather die cut words. I added two clusters on either side of the photo, as well as a small cluster on the top page for interest. 
By keeping the clusters simple it adds a little extra color but still brings your eye to the main focus, the photo and the stitching. 

I used lots of the bright pink enamel dots all over my spread. I used then in the flowers, I used them near the title and on the dots too. They are so much fun. They are the perfect finishing touch to my spread. 
I am also using the Shimelle paper clip shapes to mark my page. I love how well it works with the colors on my page too. There is something satisfying about a color cohesive spread.
