Hello scrappy Friends!
Nicole here and today I'm sharing a peek inside my Document December album using the beautiful Christmas Cheer collection from Pretty Little Studio and also the super cute puffy Bella Blvd alphas from the shop!

I have always documented December in some way. Over the years, I've done it daily in a mini album, used a single 3x4 card in my main project life album to document each day, and many other ways. This year, I've been focusing on my stories more and decided to migrate this project into its own three ring binder.  This isn't a fancy binder, in fact, I picked it up in the school supply section at Walmart. It's been perfect for this project allowing me to let my pages get chunky and this is one of those pages!

I fell in love with the paper that looked like a quilt in this collection and it gave me the idea to sew my own quilt page. I sewed literally every piece of paper to the page and LOVE the texture it adds! Two of the octagons I sewed straight to the page. The other four I made flip ups to add my photos and journaling under neath.  Top right octagon I decorated with a cute house and tree ephemera. The bottom left I used for my page title...Comfort and Joy.

For the flip ups, I decorated those with the tree ephemera from the kit and used the really cute phrase stickers. I love these phrase stickers in this collection.  They are a lot smaller than the normal size and so perfect for smaller photos and layouts!

Under the flip ups, I adhered my photo the the page itself and added my journaling and a couple flags from the same PLS collection to the top.

In my layout, I talk about what comfort has meant for me this year.  Normally, comfort would be nights by the fire, visiting family, large family meals around the table and so much more.  This year, comfort has been so different.  It still has been relaxing by our fires, but its also been about remembering who I am, where I have come from...my family roots.  It's been about laughing and being a kid again...watching cartoons, having popcorn and hot cocoa.  It's been about kindness in other people that put smiles on my face in some of my worst moments.  It's been about finding comfort around me in a time that has been very emotional, painful and yet joyful all at the same time.

This year has be devastating for all of us. I hope that each of you find your peace, comfort and joy in what surrounds you this holiday season!

Hello Lovelies and Merry December to you all! Are you documenting your holidays this month? Theresa here to share a layout with you in my personal December Traveler's Notebook, using the Hipster Holiday kit. This kit featured some delicious goodies from Crate Paper Merry Days, so I am looking for any opportunity to use that  kit!

I am documenting daily in my notebook, as I do each year. One thing that helps me complete my December pages each year is creating foundation pages. Even in a traveler's notebook you can create these, before the month of December begins! I did this in my notebook this year, and this is how those pages looked.

I made my own notebook for this month and included a pocket page inside the first few pages. I took a larger page protector and cut it down, then sealed it with my Fuse tool. As I sewed my pages together, I simply included this one in the layers of patterned papers. I just had to use this lovely pattern from the Merry Days collection, and it sets the tone for the layout here. I placed the small cards inside my page protector and sealed around it, and then added some of the glitter snowflakes that were in the kit as well.

When you turn the page protector, there is a second die cut card inside, and I added a tag to the facing page. My idea here is to have a photo on the left side and journaling here in between the tag. I also added the darling lady with her special gift and a few word sentiments.

When I came to this place in my notebook, it was time for Day 04. We purchased a few new ornaments and the Happy Feet movies this year, so I decided to include a photo of those items and journal about how special they are to me. The left side was so simple to complete: I printed a photo that is slightly smaller than the patterned paper, adhered it, and added a chipboard word strip at the bottom.

For the right hand side, I added my number to the top of the page using some number stickers from my stash. I journaled my story, which is about how my Mom loved penguins before she died. She adored the movie Happy Feet and gave Nick and Natalie several penguin ornaments. Finding penguin ornaments this year was really awesome and now we have the movies to watch any time. This is a special way to remember loved ones and include them in our albums, even if they are no longer with us!

This is such a special project to complete every year, and I am so excited to include these amazing products to help tell these special stories. I especially love how simple it is to document the month in this notebook and just have fun with it.

Aloha!! Happy FriYAY!! It's Hannah with you this fine day. Today I am using the November Cornucopia Traveler's Notebook Kit. I am using it in an unexpected way too. 
I don't know if you are like me at all, but December Scrapbooking is on my mind already. I am thinking of all the products I want to use and the system I want to use to document my December Days. There is so much to think about and prepare especially if you want the project to be successful. 
I wanted to share a few simple tips before the busy holiday season is upon us so you too can be successful and you can create a precious keepsake for your family to enjoy for years to come. 

My first biggest and most important tip I have is to have a journal handy throughout the whole month. I am not sure if I can state how crucial this tip is. Many of us have many more tasks, plans and things that place in December. I wish I could say you will remember every little detail, but you probably won't. By keeping a journal handy and nearby, you can jot down the moments and memories you want to remember. Then later when you are working on your album you will have those moments already documented and at your finger tips. It will help cut down the time you need to actually get your album completed. 
I am going to use a TN this year. This insert that I am using is the TN that came with the Autumn cover from the Store.  Besides being gorgeous and so soft. The cover comes with two inserts. One insert is a calendar and the other insert is a simple grid design. This makes it perfect for just journaling. I will be stamping the date with my roller date stamp on each page and using one to two pages to just brain dump the things from that day that I want to remember later. 
When I go to make my album I can then decide what stories I want to add to the album and which ones aren't that important. Either way it's documented, because I will add this insert with the album. That way if my family wants to read all the details they can.
I have started using this system for my Project Life and it has been a life saver. 
For the cover I added a fun stamp from Melo Milo that has tons of holiday themed images. I used a simple black dye ink from One Canoe Two, which is my favorite black ink for stamping right now.  I mixed the stamp with the block tile alphas from the TN kit. 

In Photoshop I resized one of the 3x4 exclusive printable journalling cards.  This is one of my favorite parts to getting these exclusive printable pieces, is that they come in PNG format. They can easily be modified to fit the project I am doing. Resizing in photo shop is so simple. I even added font to the image for my title page. Then it is all ready be to saved and printed right at home on thicker cover stock. 
My next tip is to change things up, add non christmas or holiday themed pieces to your December projects. This will help when you are in the middle of the season and slowly getting bored of all the holiday themed papers and pieces. It will add a bit of breathing room on your projects. When you are done with your album you can easily add those items back into your stash. 
Using non traditional and holiday themed products can help you use up some things form your stash in your album and maybe even help you not over buy things you might not use. You can spend your money on the special holiday themed items you really want. 

Tip number three... Prep as much as you can ahead of time. Make a homemade kit or buy a kit premade. Pick the album type and start getting all the pages you need ready before December comes. I actually suggest doing it at the beginning of November before all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season even starts. That way you have time to buy more products if you need too. This also gets you in the mood to take on a big project like documenting the month of December.  Being prepared ahead of time will allow you to spend less time putting the album together at the end. Especially if you are trying to do it in December. 
This is my cover page. I wanted to journal to myself a bit, and what better than to use a gold gel pen. So fun and festive. 
I repeated the stamping as the cover on a white doily. I also stamped some acorns on the doily from another stamp set I have in my stash. 
By layering journalling cards, tags, doilies, glassine bags and a paper strip, I have created a focal point. I wanted to have a place where I had a lot of texture going on to balance the busy and strong colors of the opposite side. I kept the layers pretty simple with lots of white space. 

I love how this journaling card from Pretty Little Studio Tales and Dreams is peaking out from the glassine bag. I love these colors too. They aren't your traditional colors of December but they are loud and a break from all the holiday inspired colors. I think this will be perfect for me to want to grab this TN to record and jot down memories at the end of the day. 
I also fussy cut a flower from the patterned paper in the TN kit. I added it on the tag with a label and a 2x2 square from the Tales and Dreams Collection that is in the kit. Because the tag is tucked in the bag it really helps keep the patterns muted. 

The last tip I want to leave with you today is to also remember you don't have to document each day either, you are in charge of what and how you do a project like this. You do it how it makes you happy. There are so may examples of how you can document December and your holiday season. Have fun with it, enjoy the process. 

I added some simple embellishments and stickers to some of my pages. This will help break up the journaling and make this TN a little bit more than just plain. Though that would definitely fine, I know I get more inspired to write when I have some thing cute on the pages. 
The exclusive November TN printables are a fun touch. By adding a sticker to the printable, it makes the embellishment more complex without adding to many layers. I really want to try not to add to much bulk to this TN journal since it is going to go with my December album.
