Hello my Sweets! Here is Réka again. Today I would like to share my super sweet layout with you featuring the cute heart cut file from the Clique Kits Shop.  
The first step was to resized the heart cut file from the February collection to fit for my layout’s size. After I cut it out from white cardstock. It was painted with my Prima Marketing ‘The classics’ watercolor palette mixed pink, red and white colors. I just love how the new color of the heart looks. 

​From this cute heart I created a big shaker element that I filled some sequences, pearls with and also put some cute butterfly mini chipboards.

​When it was ready I put the heart to the middle of the page and drew it around with pencil. Then I removed the heart from the layout and added lots of splashes following the line drawn using red, pink and white watercolors. This lovely splashes perfectly represent that happy moment.

​After I adhered the heart to the layout and I arranged my photo to the center of the hearts and started to layer bits from the Crate Paper – Good Vibes collection ephemera pack. 

​I also painted this fancy pink flower which was placed at the bottom. The last step for my layout was to add the Love you title, which is from the November Main Kit. Shine gold is one of my favorite colors in 2018. 

​I really love how this cute sweet lovely layout turned out.

Hello my Sweets! Here is Réka again. Today I am sharing my latest layout with you. For this layout I have used the fancy February 2018 Main Kit featuring the Crate Paper – Good Vibes collection.   
This time the fantastic geometrical February cut file was used designed by Maryám. I have cut it out form the Hashtag paper.  This paper’s B side contains pink lines. It is very interesting and perfect for my photo. 
My mother’s new hobby is crochet. On the photo you can see some cute threads which was given her.
I have decided to add machine stitching to fill the gap of the line. ​

​The next step was to add some gold splashes. After I arranged my photo to the center of the page and started to layer bits from the Crate Paper – Good Vibes collection.

​I fussy cut some black hand-drawn flowers and leaves form the Flourish paper and adhered them around the photo. This paper is one of my favorites from this kit.

​For my layout’ s title I have used the shine gold glitter letters which are another ones of my favorites from this kit. I love that the letters are different in size and I could add more playfulness for the layout. 

​Some enamels added the finishing touches for my layout.

Aloha!! It's Hannah with you here today!! If you are like me and in the United States you may be happy about the extra day off of school for the kids, these are the perfect day to lounge around the house and scrap. I fully take advantage of these days. I hope you are able to enjoy your Monday no matter what you have planned. 
Today I thought I would chit chat a bit on some tips of things you can do if you don't have a digital die cutter. Digital die cutting is all the rage right now, and you know I do own one, but sometimes I just don't turn it on for many reasons. I also think back to the days when I didn't own one in my early scrapbooking days. There are so many ways around not having one, that I really want to talk about ways you can bump up your pages with little things that can mimic that die cutting look without buying a machine. 

I will also be sharing a layout I made using the February Sketch that our designer Maryam made. I love so many elements of this sketch. It was so much fun to play with. For this layout I used mostly the February Atacama Traveler's Notebook Kit that features Maryam's Collection The Sweet Life from Pretty Little Studio. 
My first tip for obtaining a layout or elements that look die cut, is to cut shapes out of patterned paper, like circles or triangles. I like to use dishes or small bowls for cutting out the circle shape. For shapes like triangles or banners and flags I like them to look more rustic and homemade. I will even doodle some faux stitching around the shape. 
​In this layout I cut out multiple circles in different sizes to place around the layout like in the sketch. 

Another tip I have is to use your patterned paper to it's fullest. There are so many patterns out there now that have flowers, hearts, or other items that you can fussy cut out. Use that pattern to your advantage and fussy cut them out of the whole page and add them on top of a piece of white card stock. If you add media to the card stock and then layer the fussy cut elements it looks like a brand new piece of patterned paper and really close to something that was die cut. 
For this layout instead of splatters I painted with a thick bristle brush acrylic paint. I also added it on top of the black and white floral patterned aper from the Main Kit from February. I really love the contrast between the black and white and the bright acrylic paint. It really stands out and will draw your eye to the circles in those areas with paint. 

Another tip I would suggest is to try and practice brush script and use that with alpha stickers for a title. Often the dic cut titles I use have that brush script or calligraphy look. Where those look really uniform and perfect, I find it fun try to create that brush script look with watercolors and a paint brush. You can do this right on the layout background or use scrap white card stock and fussy cut around it. 
I had fun layering all the die cuts from the Traveler's notebook kit with my circles and other stickers from a dimensional look. 

My last tip for creating a digital die cut look with actually using a digital die cutter is to pull out those maple die cutting machines you have tucked away. I had bought an Evolution from We R Memory Keepers and since I have lived in Washington, I have only pulled it out a few times. I have so many dies and embossing folders, that it's a shame. Pull the out, bulk cut a bunch of shapes and pieces from your scraps and now you have some really cute pieces that you can use on your layouts. 
One thing I also have found is making use with the items and things I do have in my scrap room. We can't all have every single piece of cool craft equipment, so finding uses for the pieces we do have in our rooms really helps us be better scrapbookers and more thrifty in our projects.

For this layout I used tons of dimensional adhesive for my circles and other elements on my layout. I really love how the circles layered when they were different heights. 
For this layout I also used a small photo so that the main focus is actually the paint and the circles since they are a huge focus in the sketch. I choose to use the die cuts as the text elements throughout the layout helping your eye travel around the space. 

Often I will let my elements lay off my layout let this one. I kinda like that my canvas doesn't just have to be on the 12x12 piece of patterned paper.

Hello my Sweets! Here is Réka again. Today I am sharing my latest layout with you using the lovely February 2018 Main Kit featuring the Crate Paper – Good Vibes collection.  
This collection’s colors are just amazing. One of my favorite colors is the mint green from the Perfection paper. This color gave me the idea to paint my layout’s background with the same color. 
I have used my Prima Marketing –Pastel Dreams watercolor palette to mix this color and I also added some gold shine from the Heidi Swapp Color Shine. My flat brush was the perfect tool for this purpose. I have bought this flat brush at the local crafty store and it is the first time I have used it and I have totally fallen in love with it. It is easy to use and the result is just stunning.  I can’t wait to make more painting project. I also love this background’s brightness and shine.

When I saw this cute pink bird from the ephemera pack I knew I would have liked to use it for a layout and the time has just come. I added it to the lower middle part of the layout and put my photo above. 

​Some fussy cut cactus also went on the layout together with this hexagon #1 fun tag. It was a funny moment and this tag represents this feeling.

​The truth is, I am always in trouble with using the labels. I like them and I would like to use them, but somehow they never fit in my project.  The ephemera pack contains this huge label with pink and red frame and I have decided to use it now as the base for my layout’ s title.

​‘Együtt’ (together) was created with shine gold glitter letters which are another ones of my favorites from this kit. I love that the letter are different size and I could add more playfulness for the layout. 

​I would like to use more die cut but finally I have decided to create a simple but cute layout.

This Month we got these super adorable Pom Poms in the February Atacama Main Kit!!

I knew immediately that I wanted to use these pompoms for something differently. For a while now I have been toying with the idea of using fabric on my scrapbooking projects. When I got thinking about the many ways to use these pompoms I finally decided on something a bit different. 
I thought it would be fun to make a cover for my Traveler's Notebooks. I generally have about three TN's that I am using at one time. A Traveler's Notebook that is meant for mixed media, so it has thicker paper that takes to all the media I want to throw at it. I also have a TN from Midori that has teal paper, this is my all time favorite Traveler's Notebook. I think it's my favorite cause it's teal and super fun. I got it from an Amy Tan class I took in Hawaii. I also keep the current Traveler's Notebook from my Clique Kits TN kit's I am currently using. Some months I fill up my TN and some month's I only add a few spreads. 
I also don't mind if they get bulky, but that's where the covers come in handy. They really need to live up to all the stuff I end up sticking in my notebooks. 

For the cover I added some thin chipboard on the front and back sides on the inside of the fabric. Each side is about five and a half inches wide so that it leaves room for different size notebooks.  It is nine and a half inches tall.   I left one and a half inch of plain fabric for the spine. I added elastic bands to hold my notebooks. 

This notebook cover is really simple, since I don't really sew often. It was a great thing to make to move into  something crafty and into the sewing arena. I didn't do any fancy stitching but to add flare, I stitched the pompom fringe to the edges on both the top and bottom of the cover. 

The top of the cover needed something to on it so it wasn't so bare. I thought it would be really cute if I tried some of the ephemera from the Atacama Main Kit from the Crate Paper Good Vibes collection. I also added a few tidbits from the Crate Paper Main Squeeze embellishments that I had, like the die cut pack and the heart tassels. This also matches the pompom tassels on the side. 

This fringe frame is perfect to house some die cuts and washi. I stapled the frame on to make it more sturdy but the rest of the ephemera I used red line tape to adhere them. This way I could change them out if I feel the need too. The redline tape would keep the card stock die cuts from falling off. I am loving al the bright colors in this kit. 

I hope today I inspired you to try something a little different with your kits. You don't have to just use them on paper, and when you mix paper crafting with other hobbies you love you have much chances to show off your creations!!
