Hello My Clique Kit Friends! It is Ali here and I am happy to be back with you and this wonderful design team sharing our creations.
I am so lucky to be working with this wonderful Sampler kit | Farniente, which is currently on sale in the shop. Sampler Kit | Farniente | Mes Ptits Ciseaux (cliquekits.com)
I fell in love with the colors and patterns of this kit and thought it would be perfect to document Father's Day. I love how the colors of the papers match my dad's shirt. I tried to make sure to use all the different pattern papers on my layout.
I did use some yellow and grey cardstock to mat my photos and I punched a scallop circle out of white cardstock to tuck behind one of the photos.
The kit comes with blue letter stickers and banners from Pretty Little Studio. I used the letter stickers to create my title and my typewriter for the journaling strips. I even used the packaging from the sticker sheet to make into a cute heart banner. The colors matched the rest of the layout, and I was happy to add more love into this layout.
Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy the rest of your week.
Love, Ali xo
Hi Everyone, it is Piroska here today with my latest layout for Clique International. Do you like watching stories? I like to start my day to sip my coffee and scrolling through IG stories. I like getting to know the people I follow a little bit better through that, and getting some news from different countries. One of my favourites is @bayourbori, who is Hungarian girl living with her family in Germany. She has posted a photo of a shop-window which inspired me to make this layout.
I love how the shop-windows in Hamburg are installed, and there is always a message regarding to our crazy days of Covid-19. Like @bayourbori captured it here:
The play on words catched my eyes and I decided to make a layout with that as a title. We've just started schoon on the 1st of September, and although the numbers of the infected are raising, we have to go in and teach/learn in a mask. It's a must, I know, but I have to admit, it is very hard to wear it 8 hours long and speak appr. 6 hours in it... It became a must-have accessoire nowadays, an absolute mask-have...
I chose the Let"s Stay Home Sampler Kit for my layout. As my mask is blue I've been looking for a blue background paper. I decided to use the Around our Hood paper, and because I really liked the other side I didn't want to use the whole paper. I cut some strips from it and distressed the edges.
I think the You Are Stronger paper of the Let's Stay Home Sampler Kit has some great messages, so I cut some strips from it and distressed the edges as well. And also fussy cut some scalloped borders and distressed it too.
I wanted to use a white cardstock as a background but found it too plain. So changed it to a watercolour paper and got out my Prima Watercolours. I used some beautiful pastel colours that matched the colours of the Let's Stay Home Sampler Kit. I still found something is missing, so I used a stencil from my stash to create some more stripes with modelling paste.
It backed my photo with some patterned paper, vellum and scalloped border strips. I added my title using both kind of alphabeths of the collection: the big blue alphas are in the Let's Stay Home Sampler Kit, and the smaller colourful ones in the Let's Stay Home Add-On Kit.
I added some other embellishments using both kits: some eohemera of the Journaling Bits, chipboard flairs, fabric bows from the Let's Stay Home Sampler Kit.
Having so many options for embellishing makes it easy to create. I like how it finally turned out, altough I have to admit, I ahd my struggles while creating :-P
We would be very happy if you would show us what you've created with this collection. Tag us so we can see it - maybe your work is going to be shared on the Clique International blog next time? ;-)
Hi there, it's Piroska here today with my latest layout. This time I've chosen a Hungarian hit as an inspiration. The song "Neked írom a dalt..." is a song from 1975(!), and it's always been popular, but in these days of Lockdown it has got a new meaning. The song writer asked famous Hungarian singers to sing a line of the song - and they all did it, in their homes. From these small spots they made a new video clip.
And what is the song about? You can read the translated lyrics, if you are interested in, but briefly the song is written for anybody, who is doing his job, who is studying, "who do your job in the daylight (...) Heal people and teach children, And waiting for your dream in the evening when you are tired". Its new meaning is thanksgiving, a song for all medical workers, teachers, and everybody who is still working at home or at his workplace in the times of pandemic.
You probably all know, that there is a campaign, supporting the community healthcare heroes by displaying a heart on your door or window. I am only a teacher, working from home, teaching online and simultaneously coordinating the homeschooling tasks of my daughter. It is exacting... And I can't listen to this song without getting tears...
So I thought I deserve a heart. ALL OF US deserve a heart. For our work (let it be housework, studying or payed job), for our endurance, for our staying at home and flattening the curve. So this song and this layout is also FOR YOU <3
I cut the Floral Filled Heart 02 cut file of CUT to YOU from white smooth cardstock and backed it with the watercolour patterned paper from the Studio Forty So Beautiful Base Kit.
When I was ready I recognised that I made a mistake: I didn't left a border from that patterned paper, in order to use it as a frame for my layout. So Plan B: I got out my old border punch (thanks for the inspiration, Paige Evans!), and started to make punched stripes from the left overs.
I didn't need 12" long stripes as I was going to put that big cut heart in the middle. I glued cardboard on the back of the heart so it stands out from the background. I love playing with dimensions.
I also backed the photo, made tabs for the stickers and stamped a label for my journalling. It wasn't a 30 minutes layout, but I really like the result.
