This post is a story about using a main and junior kit together which truly worked in perfect harmony! It is also a story about moving out of my mixed media comfort zone into the totally new (for me) zone of using cut files and absolutely no paint- not a drop! Here is the cut file I used! It could be an actual quilt pattern...and it gave me a new appreciation of the talent (and patience) that quilters have! Backing this file with patterned papers took me through about 3 consecutive episodes of watching my shows on Amazon Prime...but it was totally relaxing! This cut file is exclusively available in the Changing Seasons kit right now but will be for sale a la carte at My Crafty Corner on Etsy when the class is no longer available. I'm not gonna lie- it did occur to me that I could machine or hand stitch the entire quilt pattern. As you can see, I decided against it. I am not sure that my sanity would have been able to withstand that endeavor. The die cut embellishments (you get 3 packs!) in the Changing Seasons Junior kit are so cute and the colors work so well with the papers in either kit! My favorite is the pack of vellum leaves! Here are more close ups! Of course- there are things I learned in the process of backing this file that I would do better next time and I will share them with you so you can think about your design in a smarter way than I did! 1. Choose 3-4 patterned papers and vary the scale of the pattern also. I talked to my friend who is a quilter and she says that when choosing fabric she likes to do this and also to choose at least one fabric in a color that has strong contrast against the other patterns. So applying this to the paper patterns sounds good! 2. Be symmetrical: In this "quilt" there is a pattern in each of the 3 rows and columns. Try to back each one of those rows and columns in a way that is congruent or mirror images on each side. I was symmetrical by rows (horizontally) but by columns (vertically) not so much. 3. Once you have backed your cut file, most of the layout is done! Do not overdo the embellishments because the quilted pattern will move the viewers eye all around the page with lots of interest minimizing the need for more stuff! For finishing touches, I varied the height of the embellishment clusters with foam tape and added some random copper metallic thread messy knots to the page! I had printed my photo in black and white but used an iOS app called Color Pop to recolor just the boys' pumpkins to emphasize the memory in the photo. This app is available for Android also. I hope you enjoyed this post and layout! I'll see you again soon!

Hey friends! It's Marsha here with you today, and I'm sharing a traveler's notebook layout I created for my travel album. I used both the December Main kit and December Traveler's Notebook kit to complete my spread. These kits are perfect for any type of travel documenting. I chose to use the exclusive Clique Kits map paper as the background for one of the pages. I love the colors and design of this paper! I used the stamp set from the Traveler's Notebook kit to stamp the Wanderlust sentiment on vellum and stapled it to the page. I used another stamp from the set to stamp a geotag symbol to add to the layout. Next, I used the Fancy Pants On Our Way Ephemera Pack from the Main kit to embellish the page. There are so many fun travel elements included in this pack. For the opposite page, I chose to use two photos from our travel day. I layered the Adventure ephemera piece over the photos to serve as my title. Next, I added more die cut pieces from the On Our Way ephemera pack and a sticker from the Clique Kits exclusive sticker sheet from the Main kit. For the journaling, I used a tag from the Fancy Pants On Our Way Tags & Labels, and tucked it behind the photos. It was perfect for documenting our exciting plane ride from the first portion of our trip. Here's another look at the completed spread. Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you will visit the Clique Kits shop to check out the beautiful December Rainbow Kits!
Hello Lovelies! It's Theresa here with a pocket page layout for you, using the November 2018 Seneca Falls kit! This kit was filled with Amy Tangerine goodies and her products always inspire me to use them in my pocket pages. Today I am working in my 2013 album and have created a layout for Week 15. Take a look! Our stories for that week included the bombing at the Boston Marathon, my husband having to take a trip there for a client, and lots of t-ball with the kiddos. I am loving the gold cut apart sheet, so I used that for my date card. The black alphabet set contrasts beautifully against the gold. There were also some fun icons in that alphabet, so I used some of the arrows to embellish a bit. It seems hard to believe the Boston bombing was five years ago. At the time my husband had several clients and technicians who lived and worked there, and he was called up to travel there the day after the bombing. We live in NC, so fairly distant, but felt the impact of that tragedy even here, of course. We took the approach that he should go and support his clients and technicians in any way possible, without fear, and that is what he did. He took photos while he was there, which I am so thankful for. ![]() I don't always add current events to my pocket page layouts, but this one impacted us in a way, and I am glad to include it. I took the Boston Strong logo from Google photos and included it as a tribute to what happened, and layered it very simply using some of the die cut ephemera pieces. We were so happy to have him return home safely. I have also used some of the exclusive designs on my layout, including the 3x4 cards designed by Gia Lau! My second page is all about t-ball. At the time both Nick and Natalie were taking t-ball at our local YMCA, and, well, Natalie has some stories to tell from her experiences. Because of my own schedule I wasn't able to attend all her games and practices, so I represented her time on the team here. I also told the story of how she showed herself quite the temperamental firecracker: she threw temper tantrums and during one of them she threw another kids' helmet! Ah, team sports are great learning experiences, aren't they? I have used the gold cut apart sheet once again on this side, to tie that element in. I also used my circle and hexagon punches to add layering pieces. Notice how on the top photo I punched the hexagon and it cut a portion of the design off, so I added puffy hearts to cover that up. I also repeated the black and white elements on this side by using a bit more of the days of the week strip and the All About It journaling spot. So many fun elements in this layout! Thank you for joining me today! See you again soon! Hello, lovelies! Donna here with a new scrapbook layout using the September "Farmhouse" Main kit. This kit is just beautiful, I so love it. There's still a couple of kits left so hurry and go to the store to grab it! Here is the layout I made for today. It's really simple but I love how it turned out I cut the "thankful" cut file several times and adhered it together so i has depth even without foam tape. I used one of the papers in the kit to mat the stenciled/color splattered white cardstock. I also cut a couple of strips of paper to create vertical edge borders. Embellished the layout with a mixture of fussy cut and ephemera die cuts. I love the combination of colors in this kit, super pretty I hope my project inspired you to create something today!
Thanks for dropping by and happy crafting! Hello everyone! Ksenia here with a first creation using the digital Collection This is Us by Gia Lau. I will share with you my project for story focus. I made 2 layouts in the project life album about the birthday of my eldest daughter. In March 15th she turned 6 years old. On my first page, I talk about the birthday girl's morning with a delicious dessert. On the second page, I captured the celebration with her friend and younger sister. After an hour of jumping on the trampoline, they lay down to rest. Lol I used in my project digital Collection This is Us and CK_Jul17_StoreCuts-Happiness! It was perfect for me to illustrate the story.
This exclusive collection is currently being manufactured in the U.S.A by fellow small businesses we support! It will be available in a Limited Edition kit we anticipate shipping in early April for the Clique Kits Anniversary celebration. The kit will include not only what you see in these sneak peeks, but a full complement of coordinating kit contents to work with the collection. Stay tuned for the full kit reveal.

Now, please let us know what you think of This is Us in the comments! One lucky commenter will win a paper pack ! Hello Friends! Maryám here to share with you a layout using my January 2017 Rhapspdy Kits. For this project I'm also using one of the cut files that I designed for this month. While I was designing the cut file I got the idea to create a layout and use the cut file as a dream catcher so once I had the kit in my hands the first thing I did was to create this layout. When I started this page I cut three times the cut file. The size of them was too small for what I wanted so I decided to cut a big one. Once I had it cut I backed it with a purple 6x6 paper from the Traveler's Notebook Kit and I put it in the center of my page. After that, I traced some lines with a pencil then I punched some holes and I added hand-stitching. The photo I'm using today is a selfie with my sister that we took with the Instax Camera. I love the size of this photos because they are perfect for an 8 1/2 x 11" layout and also for Traveler's Notebooks. Here are some close-ups: I hope you liked this project. Hello Friends! Maryám here with you to share a fall themed layout using our exclusives cut files for this month that are designed by our Creative Director Gia Lau. For today's layout I used a photo I took last fall and I put a bunch of leaves trying to create a diagonal design. For the big leaves, I cut them with my Silhouette Cameo and then I painted them with watercolors. At the end, I added more leaves and a flower cluster. As a final touch, I cut some triangles and I put them on the top and on the bottom corner. Here is the final layout: Here are some close-ups: I hope you liked this layout. Thanks for stopping by today.
Have a wonderdul day! Hello! Donna here sharing another fun scrapbook layout using the October kit "Girl Tribe" featuring Glitter Girl by Shimelle I had fun again creating my layout for today's post using this kit. I used one of the exclusive cut files this month as my title. I adjusted the dimension and made it a bit bigger meaning I've offset the original cut file. I wanted to retain the original image and still use the background where I cut it from. See the image below. ![]() Then I used watercolors on both the title and background. I spread the watercolors with a piece of plastic I went ahead and started embellishing my layout once the water-colored background and title dried. I can't help but play around the photo using this cute pink eyeglasses sticker. My daughter was sitting beside me while I was making this layout and she would point to all the shapes she recognize. When she saw I put eyeglasses to her photo, she said it's so funny! I love these gold foiled flowers in the kit, so pretty! TIP: Reinforce the stickers with craft glue to keep it from falling out of place Adding elements like stars and flowers to the title helps making it stand out a bit more That's all from me today. I hope you liked my project!
Take care and thanks for dropping by! Happy crafting, Aloha!! It's Hannah with you today!! How is week going? Are you like me, I start my year strong, focused and taking a ton of photos. Determined to fully document our day to day lives. Then routine sets in, and I kinda get tired of seeing the same types of photos. How do you switch it up, so you don't stop telling your stories? This year I have decided to use some of my Traveler's Notebooks as a way of documenting those stories from our normal day to day lives. the things we think we will remember because we literally do them everyday. But what about those little changes that over time? Those moments that after a few years your routine really has changed. I have been thinking about this a lot lately. Just 2 to 3 years ago we lived in Hawaii, my kids were really little, in their early school years. we had a routine, and things seemed so easy. This year as I pour my and more time planning our homeschool lessons and grading, I am realizing just how much my life really has changed. Not just in scenery because we moved to a whole new state. Not just because we no longer spend hours and hours in doctor appts throughout the month. The amount of words my girls can read per minute, the number of worksheets my kids finish each day, and the fact that they can actually help with the chores around the house. By using my TN to write a little blurp each day about the comings and goings is a big help with helping me remember these little moments. I plan to use a lot of these journals for PL, but I often like to add pictures when I am document certain moments. I use my words from IG, I add things my kids say that is goofy, I am the weather, I even like to mention things that are happening around me. The TN are perfect for spilling my thoughts of a normal day. Here is a spread I made that is what I like to do when I am documenting things about my day. I used the Girl Tribe Traveler's Notebook Kit. In Photoshop I added one of the PNG files from the printables for the Main Kit. This unicorn was so cute, I thought it would add a fun element to my spread. Plus I was thinking about the fact that unicorns embody this being able to overcome whatever and believing in something impossible, just because you need to be in something. This was the feel I wanted for my spread. Overcoming the day to day grind!! I changed the color with the paint bucket tool. I sized my page size 4 x 8.25 so when I dropped my png in I could size it to the page size easily. This really helps with printing and cutting to add to my Traveler's Notebook. I then dropped my photo into this page in Photoshop and sized it to my liking. I wanted some space at the top for journalling. I wanted to write my journaling, but you could definitely add journaling with the text feature in Photoshop. This would be especially helpful if you had a lot to say and wanted it to know that it would fit in the space. I like my hand writing in my journals, so I just printed my page on cover stock. It's a bit different than photo paper and yardstick. It is a bit thinner, which I like in my Traveler Notebook. I added a few stickers to embellish, I even added embroidery floss in the top of the tag. I am loving the sticker sheet we had in the kit. There is so many stickers with tons of different uses. For the opposite side, I knew I didn't want to add anymore journaling. I used the speciality vellum from the Girl Tribe Main Kit. It has all these symboling, it kind of reminded of all the things that you have planned to do during a day, like a to do list. Having vellum fill a page it would create the illusion of a lots of embellishing on the page without really having to add all the layers. I stapled the vellum to the top. This way if I did want to change my mind later about journaling I could still add some without losing the page. Adding a die cut word, gave me a really easy title. I just had to add this coffee cup to a cluster at the bottom of the vellum. I added stars around my cluster to highlight it. I am using this blue Shimelle paper clip to mark my page, because I intend to journal straight up on the next page. Maybe add a small cluster of stickers, to make the page more appealing. I really love the idea of having tons of journaling about our days. Seeing this writing later makes my heart smile. Here is the final look of my spread. Thanks for joining me today. I hope I have given you some fresh ideas and ways to use your Traveler's Notebooks. Keep an eye out on the Clique Kits Youtube Channel for the process video for this later this week.
