Hi everybody! Happy Thanksgiving! Nicole here with a variety of art journal spreads I created using my gel plate, acrylic paint and Art Journal! I created these spreads during the month at different times. Whenever I felt the need to get messy, I grabbed a page and started playing! I recommend playing with paint whenever you're feeling stressed or overwhelmed with life. It really does help!
When playing with gel plates, a tiny drop of acrylic paint goes a long way. Grab some paper and just play... Don't worry if the images aren't as clear...just play and add layers of colors and patterns or whatever you want to do!
Use a brayer to help apply pressure over the art journal page.
You can play with your stencils too... to create a fun background!
Here are a variety of pages I created using paints and stencils and anything else I could find. :) If you're looking to try something new, try playing with gel plates! We have some available in the shop and I believe we have a few Gelli Printing Kits and art journals as well! Grab them while you can.
For this page, I used the gel plate and pulled the green, pink and purple colors onto the journaling page. Then I used the Light and Fluffy Modeling Paste from The Crafter's Workshop over the 6x6 stencil to create the patterns. Once the paste was completely dry, I used a gel medium to glue down the embellishments. Super simple and fun to make!
I used a blending tool to blend in the wheat stalks using a small drop of paint. The circle was created using light blue paint on the gel plate stamped on the page. The Gelli Printing Explore & Learn Kit is on sale in the shop!
I used the Limited Kit, Bliss to create these fun mixed media pages. That lace trim is sooooo beautiful I didn't want to cut it... We still have a few acrylic paints from the Bliss Limited Edition as well.
Are you ready to play with gel plates yet? Don't forget to wear an apron before you start or you'll end up with paint on your favorite hoodie...just saying! Thanks so much for visiting today!

Hi. Tânia here! How are you all? Hope you are all fine and creative. Today I decided to share with you this junk journal made essentially with Vintage Vibe Ephemera Pack and a few scrapbooking papers.
Made it from zero and guess what? It´s so easy because you already have a lot of things in this vintage kit so you just have to put all together in one piece 😊 I could have used plain papers or even all the cards that came in the kit as my major pages but Alexandra Renke papers were calling for me since I saw them, so… had to used them!
This kit came with 2 hard paper board covers so to keep it simple, I decided to painted both using Grunge colour from Bad Girls Couture art journal kit. But not before using some gesso on it, just because press paper board soaks a bit paint and this way I avoid that. You can see better in my process video.
After selecting all my supplies, I had to decide how I would bind them all together. I chose something simple (you know… easy & less measurements.) Folding in half (twice) all dictionary pages and gluing them in my papers would be enough to make a kind of fake accordion structure.
Junk Journals are the best. You can collect several little things (vintage/old papers, scrapbooking leftovers, embellishments, vintage ephemera etc.) you name it. Then you just need to put all things into to one. You can use old books or create your own, as I did with this kit.
You can use it to only to write down your thoughts or you can really put down some photos and do some journaling or just to simple display beautiful things you have collected. Isn´t it awesome!
Now, if you want to create your own junk journal from zero and need some inspiration you can check the videos I´ve made for you.

Hi crafty friends! Tânia Here.
Couldn’t be happier to be here on the blog with this project. Made a page using some awesome products available on Clique Kits website (listed below for you).
Obviously, I had to start with this Bad Girls Couture Art Journal. Art journaling is something I love so much because my creativity can be free! Free of barriers, free to fly without judgements or rules.
Sometimes I tend to make art journal pages a little bit different. Maybe they are a mix of art journaling with junk journaling with layouts. Hope you like it anyway despite I can´t label it.
Whatever you are making a scrapbook album or a mixed media project you never should be worried about what you are making is right or wrong. It´s always right because is your creativity is taken place. So, don’t be afraid to take the step to create something even if that it’s not in ”the catalogue”😊
If back in the days I was a little scared about a plain/white piece of paper now this is my favourite base to start. It is easy!! Just splash some paint over it and ta..dah.. you have a background to build on.
Or you can do as I did, use a roller to apply the paint or use just a brush. After the paint, as you can see in the video, I used some gesso over it. Did that just to light up my background a little bit. I wanted the image to be the central piece and since it was a B&W image a darker background would pop-up more than the picture and I didn’t want that. But this is my personal taste working here!
And you? Do you like making mixed media projects/pages?
