Hi friends, it's Theresa here! I've been thinking about the New Year lately, and with that comes the usual resolutions, setting goals, that kind of thing. I'm not a resolutions kind of person, but I do like to create art as mediation, and today I've created an art collage piece to think about the kind of energy I want to bring into this New Year! Come create with me, using the Alchemy Kit, you can follow along with my process below. Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope you've been inspired to think about your creative life going into the New Year. Sadly the Alchemy kit is sold out, but there is a new kit available on pre-order that would give a similar look and feel: Ice and Fire Kit Pre-order The stamp set is available here: Empowered Women Stamp Set

Hi Friends, Theresa here with an art journal layout to share with you! I was so excited to see the lovely Tehuana kit featuring Frida Kahlo, who is one of the most inspiring artists and I couldn't wait to make my own page with it. I hope you are inspired by this layout, and will have fun creating something for yourself - there is one caveat though. I've begun my page with an abandoned background, and I hope you will be inspired to go back to one of your abandoned layouts, if you have one, and pick up where you left off. Follow along with my process video below! Thank you so much for watching! You can purchase many of the products I've used in our shop through the following links: Clique Kits Tehuana Kit Stamp Set by Hapi Little Fox called Pieces of Me The Crafter's Workshop Stencil Hello my creative friends! Theresa here with a fall themed Art Journal Collage for you. I'm working with the beautiful Chromatics Rainbow Sherbet kit and particularly wanted to play with these beautiful orange, yellow, and red tones. You can see my full process video right here! Hey crafty friends! Rita here today with a new project. I made a Art/Junk Journal using all my leftover papers and die cuts, some paint, alcohol ink and stamps. It's the perfect project to use your stash so you can make room for all the new collections coming to the Clique International shop hehe Mostly I used the beautiful papers from the gorgeous „Freiburg“ Kit. You should really check it out. The papers are so unique, in very high quality and designed in Germany! I used the WRMK Book Binding Guide to bind the papers together to Travelers Notebook size (4,5 x 8,5''). I also tried out a new tool I recently purchased: the WRMK Foil Quill Freestyle Pen (normal size). I used it to add some quotes and scribbles. But let's take a look at some of the pages. Here you can see how I added some acrylic paint and die cuts from various Clique International kits. I included smaller sized vellum paper which was left after I'd cut the whole sheet for the cover of my journal. I added a quote with the Foil Quill Freestyle pen and there's still place for more journaling or photos. Here I used watercolors (also shimmering gold ones) to create a foundation page for more embellishments, words or photos. For this page I punched circles out of a mixed media paper I created beforehand. I glued the circles together on the right page and there's a stripe of punched paper on the left. The birds are fussycut out from a Alexandra Renke Paper. ![]() For this spread I glued in a paper on which I used Alcohol Ink. It was my first time and I experimented a little, but I'm really pleased with how it turned out. On this page I used gold rub-ons which where included in the "Habitat" Kit and a lot of diecuts. On the right page I tried to use a similar greenish watercolor to match the left page. I made a flip through video so you can see all the pages. I hope you feel inspired to use your stash, so you have room for new awesome goodies! :-) Hop over to the Clique Kits shop to check out all the new beautiful kits and products. Thanks so much for stopping by today and happy crafting!
Hi everybody! Happy Thanksgiving! Nicole here with a variety of art journal spreads I created using my gel plate, acrylic paint and Art Journal! I created these spreads during the month at different times. Whenever I felt the need to get messy, I grabbed a page and started playing! I recommend playing with paint whenever you're feeling stressed or overwhelmed with life. It really does help! When playing with gel plates, a tiny drop of acrylic paint goes a long way. Grab some paper and just play... Don't worry if the images aren't as clear...just play and add layers of colors and patterns or whatever you want to do! Use a brayer to help apply pressure over the art journal page. You can play with your stencils too... to create a fun background! Here are a variety of pages I created using paints and stencils and anything else I could find. :) If you're looking to try something new, try playing with gel plates! We have some available in the shop and I believe we have a few Gelli Printing Kits and art journals as well! Grab them while you can. ![]() For this page, I used the gel plate and pulled the green, pink and purple colors onto the journaling page. Then I used the Light and Fluffy Modeling Paste from The Crafter's Workshop over the 6x6 stencil to create the patterns. Once the paste was completely dry, I used a gel medium to glue down the embellishments. Super simple and fun to make! ![]() I used a blending tool to blend in the wheat stalks using a small drop of paint. The circle was created using light blue paint on the gel plate stamped on the page. The Gelli Printing Explore & Learn Kit is on sale in the shop! I used the Limited Kit, Bliss to create these fun mixed media pages. That lace trim is sooooo beautiful I didn't want to cut it... We still have a few acrylic paints from the Bliss Limited Edition as well. Are you ready to play with gel plates yet? Don't forget to wear an apron before you start or you'll end up with paint on your favorite hoodie...just saying! Thanks so much for visiting today! These are the stencils I used on these journal pages in case you wanted to know. TCW865S Asian Floral TCW912S Wheat Stalks TCW882S Fantasy Tile TCW925S Nature's Circuitry TCW861S Happy Dandelions TCW923S Celestial Sun Hello scrappy friends! Nicole here and today I'm sharing two spreads in my art journal that feature the composition book and mist available in the Dina Wakley Explore & Learn Series Kit available in the shop! This kit includes one of Dina's composition books with prints of her artwork, a white Gloss Spray and her Scribble Sticks! My first spread (left) uses a silhouette from the book along with scribble sticks and a few of the dylusions acrylic paints. I also used some markers from my stash to add highlights of purple, black and pink to the figure. Once dry, I added loose writings to the left of the page us phrases like "be happy," "be trustworthy," "be open," "be creative." etc. Just a few as a reminder of who I want to be as a person. The second page (right) uses the heavier weight paper in the composition book and I used it to add in an insert to my journal. For this page, I used a stencil and Vicki Boutin Molding Paste that are available in the Explore & Learn Series: Basic Textures kit. The floral image was a cut out from a magazine that I have and I added highlights with markers after it was adhered to the page. This helps add more dimension and it takes away from the natural look, which is what I was going for. It helps the image feel more cohesive with Dina's art work. Here are a few other close ups of my pages. You'll see that I ended up creating a pocket behind the left page (by gluing two pages together) and added one of Dina's tags from her composition book. Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you've been inspired! I absolutely loved creating these gorgeous little Haute Mess Mini Art Journals for Clique Kits! I poured my heart and soul into their creation and I truly hope that you have as much fun creating in yours as I did! There is something so satisfying about the instant gratification you get when sitting down to create on a small page…I just love it! For the pages that I created I used Clique Kits amazing kit…how amazing is this kit girlies??!!!!! OMG…I am just going to say it…this is the BEST kit I have ever worked with…so much goodies and talk about pretty!!!??? Yassssss! I used the pretty little pink envelopes to create pockets on my pages and I used the chipboard sticker pieces for tabs. I also loved. Loved. Loved. the sheer envelopes in the kit. I took advantage of the sheerness and adhered patterned paper. This served two purposes…it added to the depth and made them even more pretty…and it helped to stabilize them, making them stronger and thicker to easier slide a note inside. It’s hard to see in the photos, but I added a glaze of the sheer white shimmer paint to all pages to give them so sparkle! And I added all those too.die.for. trims on the bottom of my pages to make all my pages extra special! I cannot wait to see what all of you create in your mini’s!
xoxo Wendy Aloha everybody! I could not be any more excited to share a collaboration that has been in the works for literally months. Last fall Wendy La Croix of Bad Girls Couture and I introduced The Clique to a basic art journal kit and we had a blast bringing talent together to do a holiday blog hop to inspire our followers with art journal pages, junk journal style scrapbooking, and more ideas using Haute Mess media and paint on all kinds of projects for the holidays. This time, we have been working together to bring you an unbelievably special and one of a kind MINI art journal handmade from a dainty shabby chic vintage fabric. Wendy designed our exclusive mini art journal with the same high quality features she puts into all of her regular size journals, but scaled it down to a size that fits in your purse and is perfect for completing a chunky little book. We are so lucky to have Wendy La Croix, the owner of Bad Girls Couture, as our next Guest Educator/Designer! You can find Wendy on Facebook or on Instagram also! Of course Clique International curated a perfectly coordinated mixed media kit to go with this journal, and together we present the Bliss Kit...an extremely generous loaded Mini art journal and mixed media and scrapbooking kit exclusively found in the Clique International shop while supplies last. There is a very limited number of these and we don't want anyone to miss out so please, please, please head over and order yours. When they are gone, they are gone! We will share a complete listing of everything in the kit, but first we have to introduce you to Wendy, a phenomenal artist, interior designer, mother, and friend: Hi everyone! My name is Wendy and I am a native Southern Californian. I’m pretty sure I was born to be an Artist. Whether I am designing residential interiors or playing with my mixed media art supplies, I have always been involved in the arts. From the time I could speak I have been creating something artistic whether it be with paint, papers, fabrics, beads, etc. I can’t think of anything I would rather do, but when I am not creating or designing, I absolutely love spending time with my family. I have three beautiful children and a gorgeous newborn granddaughter. I also love to spend time in my garden and I love digging into a really good book. I also spend a lot of time creating art journals and paint for my company Bad Girls Couture. My dream has always been to provide goodness and inspiration in this world. We are all in this together…let’s make the best of it and have fun creating!
Stay tuned for inspiration from Guest Educator Wendy on the blog and in the Clique Facebook Group using the amazing Bliss Mini Art Journal Kit. Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today!
Hello crafty friends! Rita here today with a fun step-by-step tutorial to make a summery art journal page. I used my new Media Journal (Blue Edition) by Dina Wakley, but you can use any art journal you already have or like. There are even some in the Clique International Shop: Vicki Boutin Junque Journal Starter Kit Bad Ass Art Journal Kit | Bad Girls Couture For this project I used acrylic paints and stencils. Here you can find the stencil I used: Basic Texture Kit Here are the acrylic paints: Dylusions - Last but not least I used the Mermaid Kit and the Yellow Roses paper by Pebbles. I started with lots of paint as you can see. LOL Beforehand I just knew I wanted to make a summery spread and using a photo of a recent trip to Lake Constance. So this is where the experiment started. I used an Indigo color, but it was too dark, then I added pink, some yellow, white. This is the cool thing about Art Journaling, everything goes and often if not always you just go with the flow. I let it rest for a while so it could dry. But when I came back later I wasn't fully satisfied. And that's ok. I would paint it over. No big deal! But before that I used a stencil (from the Maggie Holmes "Sunny Days" collection, which you can find here) and some structure gell gloss. You can also use the Molding paste in the "Basic Texture kit". After drying the gell gloss became transparent but there was enough texture, so I painted it over, because it was too dark and bluish for me. I like that the blue paint is still shimmering through a little. Also the right side is a denim page. It was a little flimsy, but easy to work with. I added some mint and yellow. It looks totally different to how I started out, definitely brighter, and I liked it much better. I usually work on Art Journal pages for days. I add something, then let it dry. Sometimes I paint something over like in this case. Sometimes I have a new idea or find a new embellishment. It's a work in progress and a real nice opportunity to let your creative juices flowing. Afterwards it was time to embellish and use some stamps. I used mini stamps by "Flora and Fauna". Unfortunately they are already sold out in the shop, but you can find some Flora and Fauna products here: Stamp-tember Kit | Flora and Fauna More Stamp-tember Kit | Flora and Fauna They are high-quality and easy to use. The most important thing when stamping on paint is to use waterproof ink pads. You can find them here: Obsidian Pigment Ink Pad | Altenew Archival Mini Ink Pad Kit 1 Archival Mini Ink Pad Kit 2 As you can see, I used a lot of die cuts from the "Mermaid Hair" Kit, but also some fussycut flowers. For my title I used an older Alpha Stamp from my stash, but I also like handwriting or adding some florals with a waterproof pen. Here I was satisfied with the black stamping and all the little details. Let's look at the full spread. I hope you like it as much as I do. I hope you feel inspired to try this technique for documenting or just meditating. It's so much fun! Thanks for stopping by today and happy crafting!
Hello everyone. Nicole here! Today I have a fun art journal spread to share with you. I created this spread one morning...I was feeling like I was in a funk with everything going on in the world... I just felt sad and unmotivated... I wanted to scrapbook something, but then I didn't... so I grabbed some paint and a chipboard art journal page and just let my hands do the work. I had no idea where I was going with the page... I just selected colors that made my heart feel lighter. We have a few Art Journals in the shop available for purchase and Gia has marked down the price so if you're thinking about giving art journaling a try, grab it now! They are beautiful and they look gorgeous on my shelf. Click here to purchase yours today! I used the Vintage Vibe Ephemera Pack from the shop too! I fell in love with the butterfly napkin... I carefully cut the butterflies out and adhered them to the art journal spread using matte gel. To begin, I simply colored the entire page with different colors of acrylic paint. WE have a variety of beautiful colors in the shop. Check them out here. Once the paint was completely dry, I covered some of the colors using white acrylic paint to tone it down some. Then I used Metallic Silver Modeling Paste and a stencil to add the birds and flowers. I love the metallic modeling paste. It is beautiful!! Once the modeling paste was completely dry, I added the flowers and writing using rubber stamps by Paper Artsy and then I splashed some Raven Coloration Spray here and there. To complete the spread, I added some cork heart embellishments, gems and a button. I am very please with how this turned out and it definitely brightened my mood! Thanks for stopping by today! I hope I inspired you to try art journaling!
