Valeska here again on the blog sharing with you this very colorful and fun page with the beautiful Lets Get Crafty Limited Edition kit featuring the Simple Stories collection that is perfect for any occasion. When I wrote this post, this kit was sold out but you can choose any colorful kit at Clique International store to make your own version.

I chose a white background with 12x12 Bazzil Marshmallow cardstock to further highlight the colors of the papers and elements of the collection, and also a black and white photo. These are resources that help you not to leave your work with too much color information. 

I prepared the background of my white cardstock with Picked Rasberry distress oxide mixed with water and applied it with a plastic film, giving it a light touch on the paper. I got this stained effect of various shades of pink.

At the bottom of my page, I put fringes of the very colorful paper. I cut 2-inch strips of patterned paper, and with the help of scissors I cut small strips until I got the fringe. ​Then I glued one strip on top of the other, and on top of the strips I glued another strip zig zag stitched. 

I put my black and white photo in a frame with greenish paper, and around my photo I glued the die cut shapes. I used foam adhesive to give height to the elements, and thus get more dimension.

 So… How was your Christmas weekend? Mine was great. In Christmas Eve we have the tradition of making handmade bread and offer to family and closer friends and then we have our Christmas eve dinner with family.
We change gifts at midnight. Do you open yours when? At 12pm or only in Christmas day? 

This post is running late because this holiday season feels like I’m always in a run to get to the end of the race that never ends because now we all are in the way to next dinner – New Year dinner. This are two very long weeks. Ahaha

For today I create this Christmas junk journal made with this cute little vintage story book. I decided to keep the story pages and add some papers from last year season collections ( in case I used Vicki Boutin “Warm Wishes “ collection).

​All the decorations are from the "It´s a wonderful life" Kit which I already used in my p​revious post. I even reuse the paper bag of the die cuts. 

In this junk journal I’m keeping all the photos and small elements from last year Christmas and the ones from this year. That’s way I didn’t date it, only used in the front cover the Portuguese word “Natal” that means “Christmas”. 

Since I haven’t found the time to create a December Daily I will use this cute junk journal to keep the memories of this 2 Christmas. It’s not year organized but I really I can live with it because the most important are the memories that we document and keep so relax if you don´t have all your memories kept by day, month and year. Do what works for you.

This is why I love junk journals so much; this freedom of creation is just cool and relaxing.
