Hello Clique friends! Some of you may know I live in Australia, Western Australia to be precise in a small regional beach town. We are blessed to be surrounded by some of the most beautiful beaches in the land. In these trying times I am even more grateful to be in a small town almost 3 hours from Perth city where covid has largely been kept at bay. And yes it is true Australians love the sun, sand and surf, throw in a good BBQ too!
Today I have a layout showing off one of our local beaches (at the end of my street actually) when my kids love to hang out, these photos are of my oldest girl. I have used the Sunset Beach kit featuring Prima Inc.
I also used the fab February sketch challenge which is open to everyone, all you need to do is post your layout on FB The Clique page to be in the running to win a store credit. Here is the sketch.
I used the beautiful Prima flowers instead of the paper pieces behind the photo. I added some cut file palm leaves to layer.
I used a beautiful piece of the Prima tule ribbon, to create the gathered look, I measured and then doubled the piece, I next added a row of machine stitching down the middle and lastly pulled the ends so it gathered. A simple technique from my sewing days but it really softens a layout.
I added the wooden ephemera pieces under my photo and fussy cut two surf boards from one of the papers. I added a line from the Australian National Anthem which sums up this beautiful land, 'our land is girt by sea'.
I am not a fan of journal blocks on a layout so I added my daughters name and date of the photos, printed in a pink so it blended in with my layout. I added Sun & Fun wooden title above my flowers. To finish off my layout I added some Prima enamel dots under some of the flowers.
This lovely kit perfect for any summer or beached theme layouts. The February sketch also helped this layout come together easily.
