We are so excited to be teaming up with Tombow this week! Tombow sent us some fabulous Dual Brush Markers and adhesive to work with. All this week we will be sharing projects on our blog and social media. Also make sure to check out the Tombow blog and Instagram for even more inspiration from the Tombow Design Team!
Today we have Kayla and Theresa up on the blog sharing what they created using the December 2018 Clique Kit and products from Tombow. First up we have Kayla sharing a fabulous layout.
For this layout I used the Tombow Dual Brush Pens to create the background. To start, use a non-porous surface such as a craft mat or blending pallet. Scribble ink from the pens on the mat in any way you want. For this layout I used all the colors and did a very random arrangement on my mat. Next I spritzed the ink with some water to help it blend slightly. I then took a piece of white card stock and placed it on the mat to soak up the ink.
My first go saturated the paper a little more than I wanted and I still had a lot of ink left over on the mat so I took a second piece of card stock, laid it in the ink, and drug the paper just slightly across the mat to get the swipe effect of the ink on the background. I love the way this second attempt turned out as it was just the right amount of ink I was looking for. And the best part is this technique will get you different results every time! I also used the Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue to adhere the bakers twine behind my photo. This glue is super strong and great for adhering non-paper items to your projects. Lastly, I used the Tombow Mono Dots Adhesive to stick the craft foam to the back of my photo. This glue is great because it does not soak into the foam like a wet glue would creating a firm and permanent bond between the foam and photo. For full instructions on this layout, check out my process video on the Clique Kits YouTube channel.
e love how Kayla used the Tombow Dual Brush Markers to create this fun and colorful background! The Bright Markers are the perfect match with our December kit!
Next we have Theresa sharing her project using the Tombow products and Hipster Holiday Clique Kit!
Any time I receive new product I take it out of the packaging first and play around with the product, just to see what it can do. The Tombow Dual Brush markers are so colorful and it wasn’t long before I discovered that they react to water when used with mixed media paper!
So I created blended strips of color and punched them out with a circle punch to make my ornaments. I then layered those ornaments with pretty things from the Clique Kits Hipster Holiday kit to create this fun layout for our daughter. The Tombow Mono Liquid Glue was most definitely my friend while figuring out placement and design for these elements.
I loved adding little bits and bobs to each paper ornament on the page and love how strong the colors are from the markers!

Hello Lovelies and Merry December to you all! Are you documenting your holidays this month? Theresa here to share a layout with you in my personal December Traveler's Notebook, using the Hipster Holiday kit. This kit featured some delicious goodies from Crate Paper Merry Days, so I am looking for any opportunity to use that kit!
I am documenting daily in my notebook, as I do each year. One thing that helps me complete my December pages each year is creating foundation pages. Even in a traveler's notebook you can create these, before the month of December begins! I did this in my notebook this year, and this is how those pages looked.
I made my own notebook for this month and included a pocket page inside the first few pages. I took a larger page protector and cut it down, then sealed it with my Fuse tool. As I sewed my pages together, I simply included this one in the layers of patterned papers. I just had to use this lovely pattern from the Merry Days collection, and it sets the tone for the layout here. I placed the small cards inside my page protector and sealed around it, and then added some of the glitter snowflakes that were in the kit as well.
When you turn the page protector, there is a second die cut card inside, and I added a tag to the facing page. My idea here is to have a photo on the left side and journaling here in between the tag. I also added the darling lady with her special gift and a few word sentiments.
When I came to this place in my notebook, it was time for Day 04. We purchased a few new ornaments and the Happy Feet movies this year, so I decided to include a photo of those items and journal about how special they are to me. The left side was so simple to complete: I printed a photo that is slightly smaller than the patterned paper, adhered it, and added a chipboard word strip at the bottom.
For the right hand side, I added my number to the top of the page using some number stickers from my stash. I journaled my story, which is about how my Mom loved penguins before she died. She adored the movie Happy Feet and gave Nick and Natalie several penguin ornaments. Finding penguin ornaments this year was really awesome and now we have the movies to watch any time. This is a special way to remember loved ones and include them in our albums, even if they are no longer with us!
This is such a special project to complete every year, and I am so excited to include these amazing products to help tell these special stories. I especially love how simple it is to document the month in this notebook and just have fun with it.
Thank you so much for joining me today! I hope you are having a wonderful season of joy and merriment!
For my post today I have done a simple page for my December Daily. I have used Crate Paper, Merry Days papers and stickers, from the CK Holiday Hipster kit.
The words 'Believe' and 'Magic', are from the cut file 'Believe in the Magic of your Dreams', which can be found in the CK shop under shop digitals.
The paper peeking behind the photo, Playful Tree Paper, is my favourite for this year! It is a digital print from the CK shop. I have printed out and used, at least 4 pieces of it this year! Check out the 2 colour ways in the shop.
Hope you all can relax and enjoy the fun lead to Christmas!
