Hello loves! It's Donna here sharing my last post for 2017. I am really anticipating the new year coming, lots of new things planned that I hope will come into fruition. So, anyways, here is my latest project and I used a combination of the January "Rhapsody" Main and Traveler's Notebook kits. I've love making TN spreads lately and I think I'd do this often in 2018. The ephemera packs in both kits are so full of beautiful little things I wanted to use them all up! Ha! I used papers scraps from my previous layout "Hey, beautiful" and one of the papers in the 6x6 paper pad as background and photo matting. Then I adhered the butterfly washi tape on the top and bottom of the spread. The stamp included in the TN kit is just too cute! I'm not really a stamper but I love this one so much I will definitely use it over and over again in future projects. And have you seen these adorable paper clips!? OMGosh this is such a cute idea! Below photo is a cluster/layer of different pieces from the ephemera packs in the Main and TN kit. Between these two kits, you'd be able to whip up lots of projects from scrapbook page to TN spreads to cards and even planner pages. I can't wait to whip up more projects using these kits. I hope you snagged yourself either the Main or TN kit. Or much better, both! These kits are worth every penny. Don't forget to Use code DONNA10 for a 10% discount off your total purchase.
That's all from me today. Thanks for dropping by! May God bless us all this coming New Year! Happy crafting,

Hello Hello! Happy Saturday! Saturday might be my favorite day of the week because at my house Saturday means my boys and I have the day off! I have an 81/2 X 11 layout to share with you today using only the Travelers Notebook kit! I think these kits are very versatile and could be used for so many things outside of travelers notebook.....including 81/2 X 11 layouts ( which I personally love to create! For this layout I decided to back a cut file with all the 6X6 papers I had in my kit and then I embellished using the clips and die cuts from Vicki Boutin. Since I popped my cut file up I had some space behind to slip a couple clips and create a few layers among the clouds. And have I mentioned how much I LOVE the birds! I think I only have one left...I could use 100 of them, they are so fun and were the perfect icon for this page! Here is a process video showing how my layout came togather!
Thank you for stopping in the Clique Kits blog today! Until next time... Have A Lovely Day! ![]() Hi everybody! Khristina here and I am SUPER excited about this January Rhapsody kit. Not only are the colors gorgeous but everything coordinates so well together between the main kit and the traveler's notebook kit that you are definitely going to want to use them together as one big kit. I am starting a new traveler's notebook insert today that is the second volume in my daughter's collection. Each of my kids have their own inserts that are full of letters from me to them about parts of their personalities, interesting things that are going on right now, and my general thoughts. For this insert, I wanted to start with something a little bit different that would make a big impact. I decided to supersize my photo to the full traveler's notebook spread size and use it as the entire background. I just printed by photo on an 8.5x11 piece of photo paper sized to fit the paper. ![]() The next step for me was to go through all of the embellishments from the ephemera packs (three...there are three in these kits you guys!) and pull out the elements that I wanted to use. I created one large cluster in the upper left corner that ran along the shoreline. Then, I added a label and sticker onto the bottom right corner of the spread using my tiny attacher to ensure it was secure. Lastly, I added a tiny bit of stamping with my Stazon ink since I was stamping directly on a photo. I then wrote out my letter to my daughter with a thin point Sharpie pen following the line of the sand. The embellishing on this one was pretty subtle but really added a fun and unique element to the beginning of this insert. I would love to see you try using a full-page photo in your traveler's notebook! Here is the video where I go into more detail about my design decisions as well as the story behind the importance of this photo in her notebook... Thanks so much for stopping by today! I cannot wait until these kits make it into your hands. I just know that you are going to adore them this month.
![]() Hello Hello! I'm so happy to be joining you today for the Locker Room post here at Clique Kits! Show of hands...Who gets a deer in the headlights look when they create the first one or two layouts with a brand new kit? And...who here is a boy mom like me and needs a way to make a more feminine kit work for our boys?? If you answered yes to either question..I've got some tips and tricks that I use to help you out! The Rhapsody kit initially looks like a pretty girly kit...but wait, don't dismiss it right away...let's look closer... there is some lovely royal blue and aqua shades, lots of cute birds and phrases...perfect for a story about a little boy and his dog....and if this is only your first or second layout with this kit..I say go with a limited color scheme...in my case I pulled all the blues and greens and greys from the kits along with some black and white pieces and made a pretty pile of goodies that weren't too overwhelming but still left me plenty to play with... I wanted to keep my layout clean so I borrowed a fun hidden journaling idea from a good scrappy friend and added some hidden journaling..... And some lovely gold splatters to set off my title were the perfect finishing touch.... Here is a process video that includes some more tips and how I created my layout start to finish.
Thank you so much for popping in to say hello! Have A Lovely Day! Aloha!! It's Hannah with you today, and we are going to get a little bit messy. But only a little I promise. I am also going to be using the Traveler's Notebook January Rhapsody Kit. This kit is so amazing, and really bright and bold for ringing into the New Year. Let's take a look at what I created, and let's start playing in our Traveler's Notebook. I was inspired by the water color flowers in the Cocoa Vanilla embellishment pack, the ones in the main kit. They are a washed out type of flower with lots of little dots for the inside of the flower. I knew I didn't really want to copy the flowers but I wanted them to be similar, I made watercolor dots all over my Traveler's Notebook paper. I made some big and some smaller, and blended in different colors. I stuck with mostly purples and a teal color I made from combining a blue and green watercolor from my Prima watercolor palette. These watercolors are so vibrated and concentrated especially for their price point. You don't feel like you are giving up quality. You can get them individually which is awesome because you can mix the colors you like in your pan. Be sure to check out the store and see what colors appeal to you. Watercolor is a fun way to add a touch of color and media to your page without much effort. Use a round brush and add a blob of watercolor to make each dot. I added little tiny dots to each of the watercolor dots. I used a fine line bottle with acrylic paint that was thinned with airbrush medium. This allows the paint to flow thin and it lets me use the paint to doodle and draw. I get a lot more control with the fine line bottle. This is my newest favorite tool. I made sure to layer some the black and white and similar colored Vicki Boutin die cuts over top some of the watercolor dot areas. Using similar colors with the black and white really helps all the colors of the spread to pop. I really love this dramatic look. I even doodled with the fine line bottle on the embellishment cluster. The pink glitter ribbon from Dear Lizzy helped tie in the cluster and tie in with the photo as well. I added these super cute birds around the spread from Vicki Boutin. They tuck in really easy into the layers behind my photo. This photo I used is from a set I took of my kiddos on the first day of school. I am wanting to have a small spread in this notebook where I highlight their favorites for the year. I also really like to pick embellishments and phrasing that is encouraging and words of affirmation for them. I really want my girls to know how beautiful they are and how amazing they will be in this world. This kit has so many phrases and pieces that help me do this. The 6x6 pad even has the cut apart sheet in a smaller size that fits the Traveler's Notebook size. I love the look of all the layers, from the cut apart to the glitter ribbon to the paint purple flower behind my paper and photo . By using the Vicki Boutin phrase stamp with black One Canoe Two Ink pad I could add a bit more doodling on the top and bottom of the spread. Matching my colors in the watercolor pan really helped tie the paper collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio with my spread. I like to might everything feel like it is suppose to be together. It sometimes is the little things that help do this, like matching colors, and taking elements that are similar feels like the went together. The cut apart piece, the Pretty Little Studio watercolor label and my watercolor dots. The black and white from the embellishment pack and the Simple Stories Sticker pack al look like they are the same collection. Here is a look at the full spread I made. Don't forget you don't need much mixed media to have a big effect on your layout or spread. Also using a pice from your kit as inspiration can really help tie things together and look cool as well. I hope you are excited to get your January Rhapsody Kits soon when they ship out. I know I can't wait to see you create with it.
Use my code Hannah10 and you can get 10% off your add ons. There is some really cute Crate Paper Valentine's day stuff too, I hope you check it out before it runs out. Until next time my friends, Stay inspired!! Good morning, friends! Khristina here and we have survived the holiday season over here. I hope that if you celebrate the holiday season that you also had a lovely time with family and friends. I am pulling out my January Rhapsody kits today to create a layout for my daughter about her first trip to the American Girl Megastore. I had quite a bit to say and it was sort of a more private story so that immediately makes me think that hidden journaling is the way to go! I knew that I wanted to recreate the pattern on her pajamas (and her doll's matching pajamas) so I found a hot air balloon cut file and got to work backing the sections with the papers that we received in the 6x6 paper pad within the TN kit this month. This is a perfect size for backing cut files because the size of the images is scaled much smaller. When I use a cut file like this, I typically keep the design of the rest of the page pretty simple because it creates such a unique and fun look all on its own. This led me to think about using simple thin matting layers for my photo as well as including a 3x4 journaling card from the cut apart sheet (nope, I don't always use those cares in project life spreads!) It also gave me a home to include my hidden journaling tag. I made sure to use the ribbon from the kit to create some little pull-tabs for that hidden journaling so that we could read the story if wanted later. I added just a couple of little pink rhinestone hearts the title to the bottom edge of the photo (this isn't this month's alphabet but it was in a previous Clique Kit. A touch of stamping with the roller date stamp also helped everything flow together. The final touches were those beautiful little dimensional butterflies. I adore how this layout turned out and the purples in this kit were just perfect for this photo! I would love to have you stop by and check out the process video where I talk a little more about how my design came together. Have a lovely day! I will be back again soon with another fun project using these gorgeous kits.
Christmas is a special day in many of our Clique families, so we want to take a moment to wish you all peace and love this Christmas Day. Remember to cherish every moment with your loved ones if you are celebrating the birth of Jesus, and pause to reflect on another year passing and a new one soon to begin! Clique Kits will be checking emails and social media sporadically, and we appreciate your patience as we too take time off to be with our families. You may place orders at any time, and the warehouse will begin shipping again after the new year and with the January kits beginning on January 3, 2018. The warehouse will be(mostly) closed from December 25th-January 1stToday is a special event here at Clique Kits...we are formally announcing the latest addition to our Design Team. Please give a warm Clique welcome to Sara Mishler a.k.a Sara Scraps. Sara has been a subscriber for a couple of years and we have wanted her to be on the design team since the beginning of the term but had to wait for her to finish a prior commitment. We are thrilled that she is joining us now ! In her own words...Hello Hello! Here is a bit about me- I am 38 years old and mother of 2 boys ( ages 17 and 11) and 3 fur babies. I’m an autism mom and have been married for 19 years. I’ve been scrapbooking since 2001 and started my You Tube channel almost 2 years ago. In addition to homeschooling both of my boys, I care full time for both my MIL who has dementia and my terminally ill grandmother. Scrapbooking is my therapy and I create just to make me happy! Sara wanted to share a layout with you today using the beautiful January kit: Rhapsody. This is an opportunity to preview Sara's style and one of her amazing videos! Here it is! Pinterest Inspired!Sara saw this pin of a bohemian maxi dress and it inspired her to create a layout ! This pattern is more dense at the top and bottom of the dress and Sara imitated this look by using more white space through the middle of the page. Scattered floral embellishments, fussy cut vellum, and sequins appear to be floating down the page, just like in the dress. Brilliant! The title is a die cut from the full package of Vicki Boutin All the Good Things collection in the kit-love how it adds a pop of black. I also love how Sara tied in the tiny acrylic hearts with one of the rhinestone gem hearts to complete a triad. How sweet is that flair designed by Maryam Perez exclusively for this month's kit? I can't wait to personally welcome Sara to the Clique team in January when we attend Creativation in Phoenix together. We know that you will enjoy her presence in the Clique as much as we do!
Hello Cliquers! Donna here sharing my first project using the January kit, "Rhapsody". This month's Main Kit features products from different manufacturers but everything coordinates beautifully! ![]() I also used this Floral Crown cut file by Maryam Perez from June 2017. I think it fits the flowers and the vibe of the kit perfectly. I have a process video for my scrapbook layout but I'm not yet done with editing so will link you up once it's up. For now, here is my completed layout. This one should be considered pretty easy and fast IF I didn't make the Floral Crown cut file 5 layers. The cutting and tracing were the most time-consuming parts in making this scrapbook layout. But I like the look of the end result so I'll just consider the time when I'll make something like this again. I used one of the papers with cut apart journaling cards as backing. It's colorful and the patterns were not too busy at the same time. In the middle, I stacked layers of some doily, messy threads, journaling card, some ephemera and then the photos. I love all the mix of cardstock and vellum die cut florals the Bohemian Dreams embellishment pack The bow and heart rhinestones were so pretty as well. I simply adhered a couple here to embellish the title part of my layout. Then I used pink and black paint spray mists to create the splatters. I put some safety cover on the photo before I did this part. The scatters of sequins completed the layout. I hope you liked my project today!
There's still a couple of the January kit left in the store if you want to snag yourself one. It's so beautiful you wouldn't want to miss it. Use my the code DONNA10 for a discount, it's applicable in the whole store. Thank you for dropping by! Happy crafting, Happy Friday and holiday weekend. Today I'm going to share with you two Travelers Notebook spreads using the January 2018 kit. I love all the embellishments and stickers that are included in this kit and not to mention the stunning papers! The first spread I created I used a picture of myself that I took a little over a week ago. I basically could not see out of my right eye and had to wear my glasses for 2 weeks. Not my idea of fun, but when you can't see out of an eye, it's needed (including medicated eye drops). I love how this spread turned out though. I used all the incredible flowers in the ephemera pack included. And used it to frame out my picture. I really love how it gives dimension without adding bulk to my Travelers Notebook. My next spread is about my baby, my pup, Spock. A week ago we discovered he had eaten yarn (and LOTS of it). He had emergency surgery and spent 3 days at the vet. I was devastated. On top of it all we were putting on a production, so I felt so helpless that I couldn't help my pup. The picture I used on this spread is during recovery. His stomach is still stapled up. :( I kept the spread simple using limited amount of embellishments and highlighting the story. Thanks for joining me today! There is a limited amount of subscriptions open to start with the January 2018 kit. Have a lovely and safe holidays!
