Good morning everyone! I hope you had a great Thanksgiving and a good weekend to rest! I had a blast with my family. We even got to have some down time! This layout has caught some of our down time too lol. My youngest got stuffed and passed out in the couch in what we call a turkey coma lol. And of course I had to get some pictures and she just looks so content. I also loved the mood board this month and thought I would draw some inspiration from it as well. It all just looked so warm and cozy and the colors were beautiful. I didn't use everything but I definitely drew inspiration from it. So I am going to share the mood board below just in case you haven't seen it and hope that it inspires you too! I started with the cut file first and foremost with this layout. I had found it in the Clique kits shop and knew I wanted to use it and I knew I wanted it to be big. While that was cutting out I had to decide on the colors for this layout and having the mood board helped with that. Once I had chosen the papers I wanted to use, I knew there was going to be a lot of fussy cutting, and there was! But it was worth it to me! Once the cut file was done and before I backed it I pulled out my distressed oxide in speckled egg, smudged it on a piece of plastic and watered it down. Then painted the white cut file with it, then backed the cut file. I knew I wasn't going to have a ton on this layout, so I decided to pop my cut file up so I could add some dimension and be able to slide the fussy cut flowers underneath here and there. At this point I hadn't stuck anything down, So, I moved to my photo and adding some layers behind that. I didn't want to add to many layers but I wanted to draw attention to it so I decided to add a few tags. Once I had the layers done, I played with where I wanted everything sitting on my layout and after that was decided it was down to tucking those cute little flowers in here and there all over! I did decided to slid the picture of my daughter inder the edge of the hello fall cut file so that it was a continuous running line between the cut file and the photo.
I really loved tucking all those pretty flowers behind the cut file and around the photo, these papers are just to beautiful! And I love the feel of comfiness and fall without being too fally. I hope you enjoyed this layout and I hope you get the chance to play with these kits. There are a lot of other papers in these kits, along with tons of fun embellishments that are more in the fall colors, but I decided to go a little different route with it. Make sure to go check out the shop and see all the new pretties that have come and make sure to check out the pre-order section too!

Hi friends! Dana here today sharing my December Daily album and foundation pages that I put together using the covers from a Little Golden Book and the gorgeous This is Magic Seasonal Kit featuring stunning products from Les Papiers de Pandore. I used a journaling spot from one of the cut apart patterned papers from the kit to record the year. I embellished it with one of the sticker labels. I used the We R Memory Keepers Mini Cinch Bundle Book Binding Kit to secure the covers and pages of this album together. This was my first time using the Cinch and I didn't have any problems. (Heidi Swapp created an instructions video for Scrapbook.com that was extremely helpful if you are also new to book binding.) I embellished the binding wires with colorful bulb embellishments from my stash and the silver wreaths from the kit. I lined the front and back covers of the album with patterned paper from the kit. I also created a metallic silver lined pocket from a chipboard file folder and the silver cardstock from the kit. There are plenty of designs to use for embellishments on the two cut apart patterned papers from the collection. The sticker labels are perfect for adding a pop of color to the page. I used a combination of white cardstock, patterned paper, acetate, and vellum to create the pages for this album. In total, I used 12 8.5x11 pieces of white cardstock, 5 12x12 pieces of patterned paper, and 5 pieces from the Mintopia Patterned Vellum and Acetate Pad. I used several colors of ink to layer stamped designs on the white cardstock pages to keep track of the days, which I will circle as I fill the album pages.
I'll be back at the end of December to share this finished album, so stop by again then! I just started creating Christmas projects and it's been a lot of fun...especially since I don't normally enjoy scrapbooking the holidays! I had the perfect photos to go with Vicki Boutin's Warm Wishes Christmas Collection and I couldn't wait to use them! I'm so excited to share it with you... Before I started this layout, I had to really think about the design. All I knew is that I wanted it to feel like a Christmas layout... and really capture the holiday. And, I really wanted to use a variety of Christmas ornaments. I cut some of the ornament die cuts in half so that I could spread them out and tuck them in, here and there... The smaller ornaments were cut from patterned paper. Once I was satisfied with the top half of the layout, I started filling in the white space at the bottom. This took some time because I wanted it to look perfect. I added the tag and some more die cuts along with a few ornaments I cut from patterned paper. Then, I added the ribbon and chipboard star. Can I just say, this layout makes me super excited for Christmas! My nephew is really going to enjoy Christmas this year!! If you love this collection as much as I do, grab it today. Hey y'all! Michelle here! You remember that fun shadow box repurpose project I shared with y'all last month with the promise that I would switch it up for y'all? Well as promised, I switched out the papers and embellishments for a more general fall theme and its perfect! I think I like this one even better! This time I used the Herbarium Studio Forty kit mostly and tossed in a few of the pink metal pumpkins by prima that came in the seasonal halloween themed kit. I used pop dots to the items placed on the background to raise them and give them some dimension. For the vase die cut in the front, I cut a piece of cardboard, folded it in an "L" shape then adhered it to the bottom of the frame and the back of the die cut so it makes it stand up on its own. The pink metal pumpkins were adhered down with some thick glue dots to keep them in place. I'm really loving playing around with the concept of changing out this little shadow box! I highly recommend you find a fun frame or shadow box to do something like this!
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you were inspired to make something beautiful today! Hello Clique friends! |
