Hello, lovelies! Donna here with a new scrapbook layout using the September "Farmhouse" Main kit. This kit is just beautiful, I so love it.

There's still a couple of kits left so hurry and go to the store to grab it!

Here is the layout I made for today. It's really simple but I love how it turned out

I cut the "thankful" cut file several times and adhered it together so i has depth even without foam tape. I used one of the papers in the kit to mat the stenciled/color splattered  white cardstock. I also cut a couple of strips of paper to create vertical edge borders.

Embellished the layout with a mixture of fussy cut and ephemera die cuts.

I love the combination of colors in this kit, super pretty

Hello everyone! It's Heather Doolittle with my very last project as part of the Clique Kits design team! This is a sad day, but this last project is one of my favorites that I've made while on the team and it's so appropriate for today: I truly am thankful for all of you supporting Clique Kits and ME while I've been on the team. 

I am crazy for all of the papers in this month's kit, so I wanted to make a cute card showing some of them off! I used a little metal leaf-shaped die to cut out several leaves from the patterned papers. I usually don't use green in my projects, but I think it is STUNNING on this card. I loosely laid out the leaves in a pattern and then adhered them in place. I machine stitched over some of the leaves to add some texture. For the sentiment, I used some of the diecuts included in the kit and then added the "for you" with some stickers from my stash. I finished off the card with some of the GORGEOUS sequins from the kit. I seriously could use those all of the time! They're so shiny and pretty! ;) 

I super love how this card turned out. Card making is really my first love, and it makes me so happy to get to share this last project with you. I hope you're inspired to use the Farmhouse kit on some amazing projects of your own!

Hello Friends, Rachel here again. I am a huge fan of Travellers Notebooks and I decided to make my own over to insert my TNs in. I have used my September Farmhouse kit which is so pretty and perfect for a Midori cover.

Travellers notebooks being a standard size makes it easy to cut the cover, the tricky bit making your holes for the elastic to go through. You need to make five small holes in total. two close together at the top and then another two at the bottom close together and then one more in the centre of these sets of holes.

I firstly made my tassel (of sorts), The gold leaf pin was perfect to add one of the small die cut tags, I added small holes to a round sentiment die cut and heart die cut and to finish off I added a gold heart puffy sticker.

I added the pretty floral bloom with foam tape adding some white nuvo jewel drops. I added a sentiment die cut from the kit and then to finish off I added a white punched butterfly ( with foam tape) and glued some of the sequins also included in the kit. Yes of course a splatter of black color shine!!

I have added two pockets, a larger one and then a smaller one whereI added another small decorative pockets wit a sentiment die cut. I embellished both pockets using inspirational quotes and some wooden butterflies left over from my August kit.

When choosing your front cover paper, if it is double sided make sure you want the color/pattern, I loved the black aztec print paper and it contrasted my pockets beautifully.

​I have added machine sewing to my pockets, adding it before I attached to my Midori cover.

I think I could become addicted to making these, they are simple, quick and it gives you a wonderful blank canvas to get creative in making your own Midori covers.

Hello Lovelies, Theresa here today sharing a layout I created following the September sketch! I love a great sketch for how easy it helps pull a layout together, and this month's sketch works beautifully with the September Farmhouse kit.

This is the layout I will be sharing with you today! I was loving the pinks and greens this month, and I have used the black and white as lovely neutrals as well.
​

One of my favorite things about using sketches is that you can re-imagine any of the elements in any way you wish. In this layout, for example, I made one of the background patterned papers my mixed media element instead of paper. I took my Prima Art Alchemy paints plus a really wide, dry paint brush, and painted simple strokes onto my background. 
​

Then, once my background was fully dry, I began adding the other papers and elements to complete the layout. I chose patterned papers that contrast against each other, so the black polka dot contrasts against the pink and white background, and another tiny bit of pink and white on top of that.
​

I have used some bits of ribbon from my stash as a little embellishment on the side, and it gave me an opportunity to include one of the little gold pin included in the kit!
​

I probably have my photos a bit larger than the sketch shows, so my title is going above the left photo. I have used one of the kraft tags, and also layered a few more word strips on top of that to incorporate a bit more color to the tag.
​

My photos for this layout are from my daughter's 11th birthday so I definitely wanted a feminine feel to this layout. The floral die cuts in this kit are perfect, so I have layered them over and under this photo. They repeat the pinks in the layout and also lead your eye down and around the page. Here is one more look at this fun, happy page.

Happy Sunday! Today I'm sharing a quick layout using this months' sketch. I stuck to the sketch pretty closely this week and it allowed me to put my layout together in no time.

For the layers behind the photo, I did not measure the paper but rather just eyeballed the size I wanted. To add a little interest to the layers so they were not all square, I trimmed along the the lines of the wood panels in the woodgrain paper in the kit.

I also decided to use a tag in place of the second horizontal photo which allowed for a great place to put my title.

I like the way the final layout turned out. It's very simple but it was nice to get a layout done in no time.

Hey y'all! It's Heather Doolittle here with a layout that I created using this month's sketch! 

To begin, I rotated the sketch until I found a composition that I liked. I kind of shifted everything to the left just because I like how that looks on an 8.5x11 page. I layered several papers, trying to keep the proportions from the sketch in mind. I loved the tags in this month's kit, so I used one of those to peek out of the layering on the left side of the page. The diecuts in this kit are AMAZING... I used several pieces on this page. I think I want 10,000,000 of those beautiful flower cluster diecuts. I used that flower diecut in place of the little "banner" embellishment in the sketch. And of course I ended up using only one photo instead of two. I already had this one larger photo printed or I would have used two like the sketch shows! 

I rotated the title around just so it fit better with the design since I was using a smaller page and I didn't think a sideways title would work well with my layers. I must add too that I tried doing a doodled stitched border around the page, but I HATED it. I ended up trimming it off and matting the page on another piece of white cardstock. So much for that idea working! Sometimes things just don't look the way you think they will... and it's ok to change your mind!

The September Clique Kits sketch is fabulous! And here is my take using my Farmhouse Kit.

I followed the sketches main elements,  only adding a few variations such as another layer of lace hearts (a cut file from the Silhouette Design store) and some butterflies (white on white).

Instead of the tags I added a floral bloom and word sentiment die cut . I layered another floral bunch to the right of my photo.
​

I added a third floral bunch to the bottom of my two photos, using the numerous flowers and leaves the die cut pack.

I used the phrase sentiment stickers from the kit as my journalling . I used foam tape to adhere my die cut title to create a 3D effect. I finished my layout off with a splatter of black color shine.

I really enjoyed creating this layout, having a sketch is always a fab way to get your creativity going!  How gorgeous are the die cuts in the kit and I love the green as a contrast.

Hello Lovelies, it's Theresa here to share more ideas for our Product Focus. This week we are creating layered embellishments which are just awesome for using supplies and getting layouts completed. I am going to create four assymetrical embellishments using elements from the September Farmhouse kit, plus one layout.

To  begin with, I chose a photo of our son Addison that I had taken recently for back to school. Addison is our oldest, going into tenth grade this year, and the wood grain, green, and yellow in this kit suit his photo well. I laid down a layer of gesso and some paint splatters onto my page, just to break up the wood grain and lighten my layout a bit.
​

My photo is vertical, so I knew I wanted an assymetrical layout with photo on one side. I grabbed a few extra things from around my desk and started laying some elements around the page, and realized I could do several assymetrical layered embellishments inspired by this one layout.
​

We will come back to the layout, but let's create these embellishments first! These are the items I used to create these strips:

1. punches - I have used a shaped label and a starburst, but you could also use border punches.
2. doilies - this is a boy layout so I've used kraft doilies.
3. marketing strips and other narrow patterned paper strips all from the Farmhouse kit.
4. die cuts and chipboard embellishments included in the Farmhouse kit.
5. word strips and word art from the Farmhouse kit.
6. twine - I have used dark navy twine but you could use baker's twine, hemp, anything that adds texture.
7. miscellaneous ribbon - I have used one from my stash to add another bit of texture and dimension.

These are the four embellishment strips laid out for you to see. I created each one to be oriented in a different direction and the idea is for the strips to border on the edge of a photo or on the edge of your patterned paper. I love this idea because once they are all done I can create four different layouts!

Each strip began with the patterned paper or marketing strip from the papers in the kit. They are the home base for the embellishment cluster and everything else grew from there. For the cluster above, I added the punched starbursts underneath the strips, a leaf and banner die cut, and word art. The word art is adhered using pop dots to add dimension. I also wrapped a bit of twine around my fingers and adhered that underneath all the layers as well.
​

For the next cluster, I again began with the patterned papers and a doily. This one is a vertical orientation, so I added a die cut arrow, a leaf, and some word art. Using the doily on this one gives a great home base for the horizontal word art so it doesn't look out of place. Instead of using chipboard I used one of the flair buttons included in the kit! Again the twine adds more texture to the piece.
​

My third embellishment starts with patterned papers and a doily, and this time I have added a banner, the ribbon, and a chipboard piece. This one has a horizontal orientation and the photo could go above on the layout, or the cluster could go at the top of the page.
​

For my layout, I chose to use a vertical cluster. This one uses two strips of patterned paper and three shaped labels punched from the yellow patterned paper. I also added a leaf, heart, and banner from the die cuts, plus a chipboard embellishment. Notice the banner overlaps the photo a bit, and the arrow on the heart points inward toward the photo. Again twine peaking out from underneath it all adds more dimension and ties all these elements in with the background.

Of course my layout also need a title and journaling, which was so easy to add. I used the Pinkfresh Studio alphabet in the kit and repeated the vertical direction on this layout. Everything on this layout leads your eye upwards! Here is another look at the full layout.
