Hi Crafty Friends! Khristina here to share my first project with the Clique Kits Design Team. I am the new kid around here so I'm just getting my feet wet and figured sharing a spread in my traveler's notebook was a great way to break the ice.
When I got this kit, I immediately fell in love with all of the colors and the speech bubbles just spoke to me. So, I grabbed just a few supplies and put everything else away...this is often how I start a new kit because otherwise I get overwhelmed with wanting to play with every little thing all at once. Anyone else with me on that one?! Here's the spread I came up with in my daughter's traveler's notebook. Super bright and fun, right?!? In my daughter's traveler's notebook, each page is a letter from me to her talking about some part of her developing personality that I love. In this letter, I talk about how she is always eager for the random unexpected adventures like running thru the fountains in all of her clothes in a brand new city. My favorite part of this layout is that border on the top. I grabbed all of the different textures of speech bubbles including the ephemera, stickers, puffy shaker sticker, and even fussy cut speech bubbles from the patterned paper. Some of them are directly on the background, some are elevated off the page with foam adhesive, and a few overlap onto my patterned paper. I wanted it to look super fun and intentionally random (wait...is that even a thing?!) I finished off my layout with some subtle, simple mixed media which is my favorite kind of mixed media. I grabbed some Dylusions paint in vibrant turquoise and mixed it together with some cheap modeling paste. I used that with a stencil that I made myself on my silhouette out of a cut file of stars that I liked. Adding a little black mist splatters tied the whole look together and gave me a pop of color that I could add some of those puffy sparkly stars to and...done!
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope that you will also stop by my You Tube channel and check out the process video where I show a little more detail about how this all came together.
Happy Crafting!!

Aloha!!! Its Hannah with you today!! I am using the October Girl Tribe Traveler's Notebook Kit today. I am loving all the bright and bold colors this kit has to offer. This is by far my favorite Traveler's Notebook kit to date. There are some really fun pieces like the roll stamps and the Glitter Girl clips that really just brings it over the top. I am working in this month's Traveler's Notebook that came in the Traveler's Notebook Kit. I remember the cover paper from when I guest designed last March. It's so much fun!! This month I am going to be trying something new, I am going to build my pages outside my notebook on white card stock and then add them when I am finished with the spread. I am hoping to do some special things on my pages that building them separate or outside my TN will give me a bit more freedom, like hand stitching. Let's take a look at what I did for this spread!! I started out by taking a look at the 6x6 pad and choosing a few of my favorite papers. As soon as I seen the circle paper I knew I needed to punch out those circles and use it for my background. This is a great way to get more out of the smaller paper too. By punching the circles and adding them by hand to the white page you can decide how much white space you want and make a 6x6 paper useable for both sides of the TN. After I added the punched circles across the page I remade holes around all the circles to hand stitch. This process is always a labor of love. It takes time to make holes and go back and stitch. This time I did a basic back stitch, even though it takes a bit more time, it really looks cool . The time is well worth it. Also this type of work can be easily done while catching up on Youtube videos too. Win-Win in my book!! Here is a close up of some of my stitched circles. For my title I used the patterned paper with the alphabet on it in blocks. I really love this combo of circles with blocks and angles. The different sizes of blocks are really fun as the title too. To help the title stand out I added foam dimensional adhesive. By popping up a couple of the letters they don't all lay flat and get lost on the background. On some of the squares I also made faux stitching with a white jelly roll pen. This will help coordinate with all the hand stitching I did. I also had to turn a V into an A by using a paint pen in Aqua because there is only one letter of each. If you want to use these for a title you may want to keep that in mind. Changing the letter was easy but some letters are so much easier to adjust than others. By adding the tile stickers from the Shimelle sticker pack, helped keep my title cohesive and matching without much thought. I love when my kit as a variety so I don't have to go searching through tons of alphas to match the page I am making. The alpha tile sheet has tons of letters to make multiple titles. I also added another sticker from the booklet to add to the title. I love when titles are long and pieced together. Can I just say I am in love with the amount of stickers in this kit!! I definitely will not run out of stickers this month. I layered a couple of pieces of patterned paper behind my photo and I decided to use dimensional tape on the photo as well. I wanted to have a bit of a shadow under the photo, and hopefully show off a bit more of the hand stitched circles peeking out from under the photo. There are so many pieces in this kit to use as embellishments. I pulled some of the flower stickers, some of the Pretty Little Studio phrase stickers and one of the Pretty Little Studio Hello Heather die cut words. I added two clusters on either side of the photo, as well as a small cluster on the top page for interest. By keeping the clusters simple it adds a little extra color but still brings your eye to the main focus, the photo and the stitching. I used lots of the bright pink enamel dots all over my spread. I used then in the flowers, I used them near the title and on the dots too. They are so much fun. They are the perfect finishing touch to my spread. I am also using the Shimelle paper clip shapes to mark my page. I love how well it works with the colors on my page too. There is something satisfying about a color cohesive spread. Thank you for joining me today. Don't forget to check out the Clique Kits Holiday kits. There are tons of sneaks of the Card kit and before you know it we will be sharing the other Holiday kit as well. You want to preorder yours before they are gone. You can also use my code Hannah10 and get 10% off all your holiday kits and add ons. There are a limited amount of them both. Also stay tuned for lots of amazing ideas to use your card kit coming up in the next few weeks. I know I have lots of ideas brewing for mine. Check out the Clique Kits Youtube Channel Later today to watch me put this spread together. There will be a full process video up. Here is one last look at my spread for today. I hope this gives you some great new ideas for your upcoming October Girl Tribe Traveler's Notebook Clique Kit. I can't wait to share some more creative ideas next week!!
Happy Thursday! It has been a LONG time since I've shared a project on the blog. So I'm excited to be back! Today I have a project to share with you using the October Main Kit and Travelers Notebook Kit. Yes, I like to combine my kits to get the most use out of them. Plus, they usually have a similar feel and look so it's easy to use them together. I was on the Clique Kits Facebook page yesterday doing a LIVE video. If you checked it out, you know I asked if I should create a 12x12 layout or travelers notebook spread. Well most of you said 12 x 12 layout. So that is what I created. I love the grid paper ("Fall in Line") and decided to use this as my background. And I ADORE the "Seek Rainbows" paper from Shimelle Glitter Girl. While I started yesterday's live video, I found this picture laying on my desk that I printed a few months ago of me using a Snapchat filter. I knew this kit and collection would be PERFECT to scrap this photo. As shown above, I added swipes of color to my background ("Fall in Line") using Tim Holtz distress inks in: Picked Raspberry, Fossilized Amber, Mowed Lawn, Evergreen Bough, Seedless Preserves, and Dusty Concord. These colors matched the "Seek Rainbows" paper seen in the left photo. As you see above, I fussy cut pieces from the "Seeking Rainbows" paper. I followed the rainbow look on the paper on my page with the swipes of color, fussy cut pieces, ephemera, stickers, and other kit elements (puffy hearts, add on flair, etc). Because I was inspired by the "Seeking Rainbows" paper I was easily able to match up elements in each "row" of color. Pinks, yellow, green, blue, purple. Layering pieces on top of each other and matching textures. I also used my Wink of Stella glitter pen to add more shine (you can see it on the glasses frames above and the girls bow). Both the Travelers Notebook and Main kit have a lot of awesome elements that work together. I used the 6x6 paper pad from the TN kit to add some paper to my photo and the background, I used the ephemera and thickers to add to my color blocks, and I even used sequins from the August 2017 Kit! I am excited how my final layout turned out. How do you see yourself using the "Seeking Rainbows" paper? Will you fussy cut it or us it as a background? Let me know in the comments section below.
There are still subscriptions open starting with our October 2017 kits (both Main Kit & TN Kits). A great way to save each month on the kits. We do have some available a la carte in the shop, as well as some awesome coordinating products!! Thanks for joining me today! Have a great Thursday! Hi! It's Khristina and I am really excited to share my scrappy space with you today. I have a pretty large stash and it isn't the most aesthetically pleasing...but...it is all mine and it works for me (and that's real life right?! kinda messy and chaotic)! Everything has a home and that helps me to be creative and productive. My crafty room is an office that sits off of our living room and it isn't very big. I use a lot of IKEA furniture to try and maximize the space with storage bins and boxes the best way that I can. I also have three RASKOG carts in the room that store a whole lot of stuff. One is dedicated completed to mixed media and the other two have a mixture of pocket page cards, 6x6 paper pads, and assorted other goodies. I also have several different art pictures and pieces of artwork from my kids that hang in my room and that is one of my favorite parts. I am always on the lookout for unique pieces (especially travel themed ones!) I keep a lot of little goodies and containers right on my desk because I love to have everything within easy reach. I have boxes and bins for everything including new collections, stamp sets, washi tape, and stickers. Absolutely everything has a dedicated home. Even that bright orange essay by son wrote about how I am virtuous....pretty cool, right?! My room always looks kind of chaotic, there is usually at least two or three projects going at a time, and there is always a LOT of new product coming in. But...it is my little happy place and I love it!

Hi there, Gia here bringing you my first Geek Lab post in quite a while. As a very simple scrapper, I don't usually try anything that involves more than scissors, paper, adhesive...but I am an old dog willing to learn a few new tricks! How about you? I have a disclaimer right off the bat- I do own a Silhouette Cameo, but it is not the latest one, and my software version is possibly quite out of date. I honestly was still using the very first cartridge only Cricut machine until I broke down and got this Cameo. I am having some issues with it due to the humidity and salty air in Maui and my blades get rusty and dull and the mechanisms of the machine also seem to be making noises they shouldn't be making. I have had to figure out how to work around these issues and keep my cuts on the fairly simple side. That doesn't mean they can't be effective in a layout! So if this tutorial is simple for you, I apologize in advance and understand if you scroll down just to take a peek at the final result! I was very excited to get to design a unicorn cut file for the October kit. If you ask any of my friends they will tell you I definitely loved unicorns before it was cool. LOL. So of course it was the first thing I wanted to use when I received my October Clique Kit. Even though the cut file is just one unicorn, I used this simple process to create a background of many unicorns that I wanted to back with the different fun patterns in the Shimelle Glitter Girl collection. We do provide several different options of file types for each cut file design, and if you have the newest machine and/or software you might select the Silhouette Studio file. For this purpose I am using a PNG file. And here are some close-ups. I had these Snap Chat selfies and the kit this month was perfect for them. The unicorn washi tape was one of many awesome add ons this month. I hope you liked this layout and see you again soon!
Happy Sunday! I usually post on Sundays, but to share a mood board or kit sneak peeks. Today is different and you will see me around on the blog a lot more often in the near future. To kick off your week, lets chat about a product that I put a lot of love into. Flair. These magical buttons pieces are sometimes designed by me, but they are also assembled by myself. Did you know that every month, we bring out a NEW design set in our shop. The October set I created was inspired by the Shimelle, Glitter Girl line, my love for coffee and essential working from home. I can't wait to use this on layouts or cards. The messy bun design was inspired by my ballerina's at the dance studio. Some of the girls actually wear bows at the back of their bun. It is simply adorable. The August flair was so fun to create! I love summer, warm weather, and relaxation. I love all these pieces, but the phrase "salty" is my favorite. This is a term I hear often around the dance studio. This flair could have several meanings to you... 1) Salty Ocean or 2) Being angry, agitated, or upset. "I'm Salty today", is something I hear our of a few dancers months. I think I need to make them buttons. We often time include exclusive flair in our main kit as well. Here are a few projects from our past design team that highlight that flair. How do you use flair? Do you like using it on cards or layouts? Do you struggle using flair? Here are some ways to use flair pieces:
What ideas do you have? Share with us in the comments section. Thanks for joining me today. Creating for Clique Kits is such a joy and I feel so lucky to be a designer of our exclusive products. The way the subscribers and our scrappy friends use the products inspire me each day. Keep sharing your projects (The Clique or Clique Kits facebook page).
Have a great Sunday Funday! Hello everyone and Happy Saturday! Today is the Homecoming dance here where I am from and my will be attending with his good friend! I am so excited for him to get ready and to see his date all dressed up and of coarse take a lot of photos! I have so many photos and one way I like to scrap them is buy using cutfiles! Clique Kits has a ton of cutfiles in the shop and some good freebies as well! I love to cut a bunch out at one time that way when I have some time to scrap I can grab one and start creating! My favorite thing to do is back the files with pattern papers! Today I am using a free cut file designed by Maraym Perez that you can find in The Clique Facebook Group! It is originally sized for a card front but I changed the size to fit my 12x12 page! I used a paper pack that I picked up from the Clique Kits shop! I love a good masculine collection and the High Five collection from WRMK is perfect and it is only $3.50 right now! Don't forget to use one of our Design Team member 10% off coupons at check out for even more savings! I love the blue color in this collection and the splashes of black! Once I had all the hearts backed with this awesome pattern paper I began embellishing my layout! I had pulled some things from my stash and also the 6x12 sticker sheet from the collection! I used the scraps from backing the hearts as my layers behind my photos! You dont need full sheets to add layers! Just little bits of papers peeking out can make a big impact! I love how the layout turned out and I love how easy it is to create an awesome background with this cutfile!! I would love to see how you use this cutfile in your projects!! We have a handful of there freebie cutfiles in The Clique Facebook group!! You can find them under the Files section in the group! Here is a look at my final layout! Make sure to check out the clearance section in the Clique Kits shop! Tons of great deals for great prices!! A lot of these products can be mixed in with new collections and kits to help stretch your kits out even longer! I will have a couple more posts coming your way before I take a small break for maternity leave! I have been busy cleaning my house out so I guess I am nesting! Last night I was in the office and cleaned for about 4 hours! Organizing and getting things ready to go for our subscribers for the next few months! I found a few more small embellishment mystery boxes and these are now up in the shop! You can grab one HERE in the CK shop! These boxes are $20.00 and this includes the shipping cost! Please use the code FREE9 at checkout to get the shipping charge removed! Thanks so much for stopping by today and I will see you again on the blog in a few days!
As we say in Hawaii... Aloha Friday everyone! Also TGIF or FriYAY or whatever it is they like to say when the weekend finally arrives in your neck of the woods. I am back on the blog today with a quick post to share a couple of traveler's notebook layouts using the October Girl Tribe Traveler's Notebook Kit. One of my favorite things about this kit is the full packet of stickers from the Shimelle Glitter Girl collection that it contains! There are 8 sticker sheets included just in that one component of the kit. It contains an alphabet, washi tape strips, cardstock stickers -I mean its jam packed and even comes with a cute little folder to store them in. I am sure I will be using it far beyond this month! This is the first page of my May traveler's notebook. I do jump around a little bit in my traveler's notebook inserts. I try to assign one insert to each month of day to day pictures, but I don't necessarily scrap them in order or use only one kit per monthly insert. I also don't sweat it much if I never get to the last page of the insert before starting the next one. Are you someone who makes "rules" for yourself --or are you like me and just let yourself be free and go with the flow of the mojo? Somehow I completely forgot to mention my favorite add on of the month in the reveal newsletter....these individual Prima Watercolor paint refills. A while back we carried the full Prima watercolors sets, and mine was starting to run low in my favorite colors. I used these paints to just play around in creating the background of this page. Whatever color or color(s) you order, they are guaranteed to work with the October kit! It may be hard to read the journaling on this layout and I just have to tell you guys the cute story behind it. My 11 year old daughter knew that the birthday boy didn't really like sweets like cake, but she was determined to bake him something to celebrate his 50th birthday. When he told her, "I don't want a cake!" she replied, "I know, I'll make cupcakes." It was just so cute- her little genius moment thinking she really figured it out. (Newsflash Gigi...cupcakes ARE cake LOL.) Needless to say- he ate a cupcake.
And that's a wrap for today! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!--xGia Today is a bittersweet day here in the Clique Kits locker room! Today marks the end of the 2017 Spring-Summer Design Team term and we have had to say farewell to some lovely, talented, kind, amazing people we have enjoyed being inspired by this term. We wish Audrey, Evi, Nathalie, Enza, Candace, Stephanie, Melissa, and Sheryl the best in their future adventures. Even sadder still, we say goodbye for now to a close friend, dedicated team member and friend-our brilliant Design Team Leader Nicole Martel. I want to thank each and every one of these designers for the hard work they put in. I hope it was as fun for them as it was for us. We will miss them! Because she is so special to us we put together a little tribute for Nicole Martel. Here is an important announcement! In just a short while we'll be saying hello to a brand new baby Thompson! We are very excited for Erica and her family soon to be Plus One! When this miraculous event takes place we will be closing the warehouse for a short time. Don't worry, we will use this opportunity to continue taking orders with a HUGE sale event and shipping will resume before you can blink. Complete details will be shared as soon as Erica begins her maternity leave for baby #6. And now its time to say... bring on the new season and welcome this lean and mean 2017-18 Varsity Team for the next six months! We introduced this team on September 8th with a fun blog hop! In case you missed it, learn more about the team here. We are so blessed to have worked with an incredible graphic designer and illustrator Inna Moreva! With great pride we have watched her "get discovered" and we are proudly supporting her as she goes on in her career! Inna designed these adorable stamps for our friends at Pinkfresh studio. You can pick up this really cute stamp in the Clique Kits shop right now! We hope that we will be able to bring more of Inna's work to the Clique whenever she can fit us in! Congratulations to Maryam Perez! In other news our precious Maryam who started as the first ever (that I know of ) design team member who made the team at the tender age of 14 has been commissioned for her very own collection with Pretty Little Studios. Maryam will continue to be an integral part of the Clique this term and is the youngest member ever of the Clique Creative Team ! We are so excited to bring you Maryam's beautiful original illustrations and more this term. Join us in the Clique Facebook group on Saturday October 7th for another one of our online events. These "virtual" crops are a blast. We have a new challenge each hour and prizes prizes prizes! We know that nobody wants to talk about Christmas before Halloween but lets face it...what better way to celebrate our craft and knock out some priceless holiday cards all in one day! Our inspiration will come from the contents of this year's holiday kit Clique Cards Holiday Edition '17. It features the newest Simple Stories collection.
