Hello crafty friends! Can you believe it's the last day of July already?! I surely don't. Today I have a 12x12'' layout to share with you. And it's messy, eclectic and fun and the cool thing is: I used a lot of leftover embellishments from a lot of kits. As you can see, I also used some stamps and acrylic paint. It was so much fun to create this layout. It was a real freestyle project, with no concept and idea beforehand. I just started by playing around with a little paint. Then I put together all the scraps I still had. I love the black and white "Little Black Dress" kit, because you can mix and match it with everything. I combined two papers from this kit with a leftover paper by Pink Paislee and used some vellum from Crate Paper. Then I attached them to white cardstock. I paired my photo with a pocket card from Pretty Little Studio's "Color me Happy". The balloons are also from this collection, the other one is by Pebbles. I used a photo of my son on the slide, so the layout needed to be colorful and fun with lots of cute details. And how adorable is that clip? I used some leftover die-cuts from the Rosie's Studio Kit which you can find here. All the white embellishments are from the "Little Black Dress" Kit. The clouds, sun and rainbow are by Pretty Little Studio. The glasses, florals and the cat are by Pebbles. The stamp I used is by Flora & Fauna and unfortunately not available in the shop anymore. But I can recommend you this stamp kit right here. I love how the stamps resemble the handwritten paper on the right. And I personally think that stamps are must when working with mixed media backgrounds. They add a cool effect and make the layout much more interesting. It's all in the details, right? If you feel inspired and want to create with a little ink or paint, get started! It's so much fun! And if you need some paint supplies, you can click here. Thanks for stopping by today and happy crafting!

Hello everyone. Nicole here! Have you seen the Sunshine Clique Sampler Kit? I just love it!!! It's so sunny and happy...and pretty! The patterns are adorable and the colors are so soft. The size of this layout is 8"x4". I love this size. For the background, I used a few of the tags from the kit to create a variety of circles in the background. The chipboard embellishments are from my stash. As you can see, I used a lot of layers on this small layout to add depth and dimension to my layout. And of course, I had to include a little bit of journaling at the bottom. Otherwise, the layout will feel incomplete...to me at least. Thank you so much for stopping by. If you haven't had the chance to check this kit out, check it out today. It's a really cute kit!
Hi friends! Dana here today sharing a scrapbook layout that I created after listening to the song "Isolation" by John Lennon. Although this song was released 50 years ago it is still valid today, maybe even more so with the current COVID-19 Pandemic. I used the Over the Rainbow and Color Me Happy Kits for this page. The Over the Rainbow Kit has sold out, but you can still buy the extra paper pack here. I have depicted a girl and a boy alone inside separate black and white boxes along the top of the page. I used Pretty Little Studio die-cuts rather than photos here to help represent all people in a less personalized way. While some people, like myself, are enjoying the imposed isolation as a time to destress and recharge, I know that is not the case for many. It is hard to see my children struggle to understand and cope with the current situation. I created my own rainbow colored background and garden scene from cut up patterned papers included in both of the kits. This mix of products really work will together. To add more dimension to the design, I embellished the flowers with buttons and dots. I included the song lyrics that resonated with me the most and wrote them on the rainbow: "We're afraid to be alone. We're afraid of everyone. Afraid of the sun."
Here are the full song lyrics to "Isolation" by John Lennon: People say we got it made Don't they know we're so afraid Isolation We're afraid to be alone Everybody got to have a home Isolation Just a boy and a little girl Trying to change the whole wide world Isolation The world is just a little town Everybody trying to put us down Isolation I don't expect you, to understand After you caused so much pain But then again, you're not to blame You're just a human, a victim of the insane We're afraid of everyone Afraid of the sun Isolation The sun will never disappear But the world may not have many years Isolation Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you are safe and healthy. Hello Clique friends, Rachel here and today I have a sweet ice cream mini album to document a day out with my youngest at the beach. I have used the gorgeous collection by Fancy Pants Designs A Cherry on Top. I have used a card ice cream from the Silhouette Design Store but turned it into a mini album by cutting three in white cardstock and then used my sewing machine to sewing together, I used the waffle looking paper to cut the cones so it looked life like but had fun with the ice cream scoops using different patterns and colours in paper choice. The floral papers of Cherry on Top collection are just gorgeous so I chose two to create my cover. I used the puffy sticker words from the Bloom Street collection by Paige evans, I finished off adding a pom pom, enamel heart and tassel. I have a thing for baby feet and these sandy toes are my youngest (number four). Again I chose different papers to create the ice cream scoops but kept the cone consistent. I used the die cuts from the collection (Fancy Pants Designs have always been generous with their die cut ephemera packs) to start decorating. These type of mini albums are a fab way to scrap the 'not so great photos' visually button document precious memories which is why I also ensure I add some journalling because it's not just about 'pretty' its also about memory keeping. Thank you for stopping by today and I hope this has inspired you to memory keep a summer moment. Product used:

Nicole here and today I'm super excited to share a layout inspired by someone from our Clique International group on Facebook! My challenge today was to create a layout inspired by one of our very own followers and I'm using this layout that was posted during INSD by Jennifer Cain (pictured left)!! What drew me Jennifer's layout was the use of lines and her choice of colors. Each very bold and defined her layout beautifully. I chose to follow her layout very close, as I wanted to carry those strong lines thru my project. When adding the lines, I used the branding strips from 12x12 papers and it was a great way to bring in other patterns from papers that I did not have from this collection. Here are a few other close ups from my project: ....and lets have one more look at Jennifer's project! A huge thanks to Jennifer for letting me "scrap lift" her design and layout today! You're layout is beautiful and I can wait to see what more you share with us!! Aloha everybody! I could not be any more excited to share a collaboration that has been in the works for literally months. Last fall Wendy La Croix of Bad Girls Couture and I introduced The Clique to a basic art journal kit and we had a blast bringing talent together to do a holiday blog hop to inspire our followers with art journal pages, junk journal style scrapbooking, and more ideas using Haute Mess media and paint on all kinds of projects for the holidays. This time, we have been working together to bring you an unbelievably special and one of a kind MINI art journal handmade from a dainty shabby chic vintage fabric. Wendy designed our exclusive mini art journal with the same high quality features she puts into all of her regular size journals, but scaled it down to a size that fits in your purse and is perfect for completing a chunky little book. We are so lucky to have Wendy La Croix, the owner of Bad Girls Couture, as our next Guest Educator/Designer! You can find Wendy on Facebook or on Instagram also! Of course Clique International curated a perfectly coordinated mixed media kit to go with this journal, and together we present the Bliss Kit...an extremely generous loaded Mini art journal and mixed media and scrapbooking kit exclusively found in the Clique International shop while supplies last. There is a very limited number of these and we don't want anyone to miss out so please, please, please head over and order yours. When they are gone, they are gone! We will share a complete listing of everything in the kit, but first we have to introduce you to Wendy, a phenomenal artist, interior designer, mother, and friend: Hi everyone! My name is Wendy and I am a native Southern Californian. I’m pretty sure I was born to be an Artist. Whether I am designing residential interiors or playing with my mixed media art supplies, I have always been involved in the arts. From the time I could speak I have been creating something artistic whether it be with paint, papers, fabrics, beads, etc. I can’t think of anything I would rather do, but when I am not creating or designing, I absolutely love spending time with my family. I have three beautiful children and a gorgeous newborn granddaughter. I also love to spend time in my garden and I love digging into a really good book. I also spend a lot of time creating art journals and paint for my company Bad Girls Couture. My dream has always been to provide goodness and inspiration in this world. We are all in this together…let’s make the best of it and have fun creating!
Stay tuned for inspiration from Guest Educator Wendy on the blog and in the Clique Facebook Group using the amazing Bliss Mini Art Journal Kit. Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today!
Hello everyone!! It's Isa today on the blog and I am here today with a new layout inspired by...my love for copta books! Since I discovered them and mastered how to make them I haven't stopped making them! I feel soooooooo relaxed when I make them! You cannot imagine that! It's like my creative yoga. That is why I felt inspired by the picture of the layout to create it. It is a picture that a good friend of mine took after a whole day teaching coptic binding in her scrapbooking store in Barcelona. For this layout I have used the wonderful collection Imagine by Wilma Rodriguez for Mintopia Studio. You can find all the products of this collection and more from this brand here. I have used ripped stripes of paper from the collection which I sewed with my sewing machine. I also did some fussy cutting for the flowers that I have used to decorate the project. For decorating the picture I have used a dolly and some die cuts from the Imagine collection. For the title I have used the puffy alphabet that comes with the Imagine collection. To add some finishing touches to the layout I have added some puffy stickers to decorate and also I have glued some sequins from the Imagine collection itself. They add some elegance and shiny to the project, although I have to confess that it was hard to glue them, LOL!
I hope you liked this project and that scrapbook and your creations inspire you to document these wonderful creative moments. See you soon with new projects! Take care. Love, Isa Hello Everyone, it's Piroska here today with my latest layout for Clique International. It is best summertime here in Europe, we also enjoy our holiday right now. As it is highly recommended not to travel abroad, we have spent some time at one of our favourite places of Hungary, at the Lake Balaton. The Lake Balaton is the largest lake in Central Europe, and a favourite tourist destination. As Hungary doesn't have a coastline anymore, people like to call this lake the Hungarian Sea. The northern shore is surrounded by mountains, there are many wineyards there. The southern part is more flat, with some hills, and you can walk long into the water, so it is perfect for families with small kids. All water sports can be find here, there are also several sailing races here. And you can ride around the lake, such a tour means more than 200 km by bike. The water is silky and green, all colours of green. We just love to bath or swim in it, but also just to sit on the shore and looking at the water. It has so many different colours, it is amazing! It is turqouise when the weather is calm (csendes), bright green if a storm is coming (vihat előtt), and greyish green if it is stormy (mérges). For my layout I collected such photos from our last trip there, in 2 weeks there was all kind of weather!;-P I have used the Sweet Story 12x12 papers by Maggie Holmes /Crate Paper. For my background I used the B side of the Sprinkles paper, and I fussy cut some scallops from the A side of an other Sprinkles paper. I wanted to use 3 photos of the lake and 3 selfies, and having 6 3"x4" photos on a layout was new for me! I decided to do a grid design, having the six photos in 2 coloumns in the middle and on the right, and the title on the left side. ![]() I cut my letters from the Taffy paper using the alphabet dies of Lora Bailora. I also cut the lettersfrom foam so that the letters have some dimension on the layout. I also cut some floral elements from white cardstock and the Taffy paper using the Floral Bouquet Die of Lora Bailora and added them under the photos. I also added some cut outs from the Hey, Hello! icon ephemera pack of Pebbles. Finally I added some crystals to the layout. I hope I could inspire you to use more photos on a layout - and visit the Lake Balaton once! You'll like it ;-)
Nicole here! I have a clean and simple layout to share with you using some whimsical patterned paper from A.B. Studio. LOVE their papers. They are absolutely beautiful and I find their patterns to be unique! The patterns are so different from what you typically see on the market. Last August, Pete and I took Edward and his good friend Sydney to the fair. While we were there, we visited the Petting Farm. The kids loved this part of the night more than the rides! I stood back and watched them, happily feed the deer and other animals. It makes my heart happy to see children enjoy moments such as these instead of focusing their days playing video games etc. To begin, I matted a few photos using paper and then I ripped some of the patterns to give the layout dimension. I didn't want this layout to be all straight lines like most of my simple layouts. Once I had the papers mounted down to the base, I added the photos. I added a few chipboard embellishments, puffy dots, die cuts and puffy stickers from the My Favorite Story Add-on kit. Then, I splashed some Raven Coloration Spray by Art Anthology in a few areas to break up the green. To complete the layout, I used a few stamps to stamp the "I've got that hungry feeling" and "another wild food adventure". They were perfect for this layout and it helped tell my story in just a few sentences. Thank you so much for visiting today! What do you think about these patterns? Aren't they beautiful?! Hey everyone! Maryám here with you today to share a new layout. For today's project, I'm using the gorgeous My Favorite Story Collection from Pink Fresh Studio which came in my Design Team box a couple of months ago. One of my favorite things about this collection is the color palette. The pinks, yellows, and blues, are colors that I usually do not use together, but I challenged my self to go out of my comfort zone and try this new-to-me color palette for this proejct. To create my layout, I started by backing the Spring Floral Trio cut file from Pinkfresh Studio, which I cut out of white cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo. I used different pattern papers from the collection following the pink-yellow-blue color palette I mentioned earlier. To continue with the process, I was looking for a colored cardstock to use for my background, but I ended up choosing the B side of the Joyful Heart Paper. I really liked the peachy color of this paper but I wanted the flowers from the cut file to stand-out more so I went ahead, grabbed my jar of white gesso, and applied some of it with a plastic card to the background. After the gesso dried, I added some foam adhesive on the back of the trio of flowers and adhered them to the page. Next, I added some floral die-cuts to embellish the page along with some puffy stickers and little fabric bows. For my title, I went with the word cute, for which I used the Happy Day Thickers from the Hope Base Kit. And in the end, I added some iridescent sequins and gems to finish my design. That's it for today! I hope you enjoyed this post and inspired you to create something new. If you have any questions just leave a comment below, and I’ll be happy to help you.
Have an awesome day! |
