Erica here today to share a couple cards I created using the fabulous Clique Kits Diagonal Stripe Square Die Cut. This cut can be found in out Digital Store and is only $0.99! If you have not visited the Digital Store in a while you will find some new cuts added to the shop! I was getting to the very end of my kit and only had a few scraps left to work with so I decided to create a couple more cards and use this fabulous die cut with both of the cards! The first card I cut the die cut using white card stock and adhered it to a white card base! I added a the few strips of pattern paper I had left from the July Kit and popped them up with some pop dots. I cut out a circle for my sentiment and stamped out Missing You from the Lawn Fawn Wish You Were Here stamp set. I popped that up as well and added some May Arts Jute to tie on one of the Allison Kreft Heat Charms. My second card features the same Diagonal Stripe Cut File and I pulled some cardstock from my stash to cut it out with my Cameo. The polka dot paper comes from the Clique into Summer kit and the sentiment is from Stampin Up. This one cut file can be used in so many different ways and it is nice that we can change the size to fit the project we are working on. For my first card I sized it at 4 x 5.25 and for my second card you can see it fits the card base perfectly at 4.25x 5.50. Our digital files can be re-sized and reshaped to fit your project. I hope you enjoyed my cards today featuring the Diagnal Stripe cut file! Here is another example of this awesome cut file used on a layout by one of the Clique Kits members Danielle. Thanks so much for stopping today! Our July Blog Share is approaching quickly so I hope you will join us here on the blog July 23rd! We have a great line up once again this month and a fabulous prize!

Clique Kits is THRILLED to have Scrappin' Madge with us today sharing a little "Something old, something new." Here she is to tell you all about it! Hey, Hey everybody it’s me Scrappin Madge! I am super excited to be with you all today! I have to start by saying “I Love Clique Kits!” I am not just trying to get extra points with the teacher; I am truly loving each and every Clique Kits Kit that has come out!! Now, that being said let’s dive right into my topic that you will see me create about! I love taking something old and creating something new! Or taking something old and combining it with something new!!! For my first project I took from my very large antique button jar two buttons and gave them new life!!! I also took some old vintage/antique wallpaper and cut several circles out and used them on my project! Here is my layout of my Sweet Daughter and her Cousin Kierra! It warms my heart that not only are they cousins, but they are good friends! They hang together, they cheer together and they have fun together!! Check out the close up of the buttons- Aren’t they perfect for this page??? Now can you see where the old wallpaper was placed? Which circles have wallpaper and which ones have pattern paper and flair? For my second project I combined a fun Old vintage badge and some old product that was in my stash to finish off this fun layout of my sweet Kylo! Here is a picture of the badge close up, it is awesome! I found this in my button jar when I was searching for the right buttons for my previous layout! I love how it is black with silver, it is the perfect size for this layout! You can also see the fun felt cherry piece that is from a couple years ago made by Pebbles! (Always check your stash for some of the older product. Mixing old with new is a fun way to bring the old new life.) This last picture of the layout shows how I layered the polaroid’s using pop dots to give dimension. One more quick project! I created these three little cards! Perfect for a gift bag or a smaller gift! I hope that I have inspired you to add something old and something new to your projects!! I can’t wait to share with you again!! Loves, Scrappin Madge WOW Madge! GREAT IDEAS here for mixing old and new together! Thanks for sharing! Hey Clique! Would you like to be the next author of one of these posts?
Click.Connect.Create. Do you love die cuts? There are many ways you can use or access die cuts. In my layout today I'll highlight some of the die cuts we have that go with the July 2014 Kit! So lets get started! Die cuts are not limited to cutting shapes / phrases / words, etc with a die cut machine (manual or electric). Die cuts are also found in coordinating products, like the Crate Paper Open road ephemera included in the July kit! On this layout I used not one but TWO ephemera shapes (the camera and Relax rectangle). Some of the die cuts I highlighted on my layout include: the exclusive digital die cuts (which will be available in the Clique Kits shop soon), Element Stickers, Ephemera and the awesome add on Echo Park Viewfinder and Ampersand manual die cut! I love this viewfinder die cut, it is reasonably priced for a steel diecut and it's a great element to add to my layouts! Don't you LOVE this word mash up die cut? How about that film strip? These are now available in our shop! Now here is the full layout! I also put a less important image at the edge of the film strip and actually cut it off, I wanted the images to look as they continue off the page. What are your favorite type of die cuts? Ones you can cut on your own on your choice of paper or those that coordinate with paper lines? Or are you like me and just in love with all sorts of die cuts!?! The July Kit die cuts are NOW available in the Digital Store! Scoop them up if you are not a subscriber!
Thanks for joining me today! Have a scrap happy day! -- Lacey ![]() Clique Kits is very excited to introduce our July Designer in the Spotlight, Allison Kreft! This talented designer and busy Mama created the lovely Capture Life Collection for Echo Park Paper which also has a black and white version! So clever! The color version of Capture Life is the featured paper line in our July Kit, A Mid- Summer Night's Dream. This month, we are getting to know Allison better AND she's sharing her own layouts created with the July Clique Kit. Allison, thank you so much for spending some of your valuable time with us and sharing some insight into your world! We truly appreciate your kindness. Now, lets get to know Allison Kreft! Q. As a designer, have your designs changed or evolved since becoming a mother? A. I wouldn't say that my designs have changed, but I have been designing more stuff for kids, like my last collection Hello World for Webster's Pages. I also just designed a baby photobook for Shutterfly that will be available on their website in the fall. Q. What things around you inspire you in your everyday life. A. I live in a urban city, and walk around a lot. It's fun to take note of the colors, typography and trends I see everyday. Q. What are you favorite photo apps on smart phones or favorite photo editing software (if you're allowed to say?) A. I love instagram, and use the Rhonna designs and Camera+ app. I've been using a lot of Greater than Gatsby actions for photoshop lately. Q. What would you say is your favorite time of day to create? A. After the kids go to sleep! I've actually pulled 2 all-nighters in the last 30 days. My creative juices really come out at night, and I can work without interruptions for long period of time. Q. What really gets your creative juices flowing? A. I'm a very hands-on person. Pinterest is a great place for inspiration, but I like seeing things in person. I recently went to New York, and that city always gets my creative juices flowing. Q. What inspired you to design Capture Life, both the color and black and white lines? A. I created Everyday Eclectic for Echo Park about 2 years ago. For that collection I had taken a bunch of photos at the boardwalk and used instagram filters on them. We wanted to do a follow up collection with the same techniques, but with the new trends. It was Echo Park's idea to have both a B&W and color. I love how it turned out. Q. What is your favorite feature or elements in your Capture Life line for Echo Park? A. The bokeh papers are my favorite. The white bokeh was a backdrop I created for a photo shoot for my kids. I loved it so much I decided to make it into a paper design. Q. What's your favorite scrapbooking tip or technique that you'd like to share? A. There are so many good ones, I've recently created my own ombre look by mixing ink directly on stamps. That was pretty fun. A big thank you to Allison Kreft again for being our Designer in the Spotlight! Be sure to follow her blog HERE to see all her designs, as she collaborates with other companies like Webster's Pages. It's been a pleasure not only having Allison share a little about herself this month but to also have her create with us!
Click.Connect.Create. -Gia, Jody, Erica & Lacey I can't believe we are already at Week 5 of Summer School! Week 5 is all about color! The pdf. file for subscribers and summer school students is also found on the Summer School page. Here on the blog I thought I would show my take on the challenge of the week! Here is the Color My {Summer} World Sketch that is found in the lesson: Anyone can play along with this sketch challenge! All you have to do is choose a harmonious color scheme using 1-4 colors interpreting this sketch any way you choose! (You do NOT have to choose the same colors in the sketch) The sketch also includes a paint swatch card as an element which is optional ! (These were included in the Clique into Summer kit but are available wherever house paints are sold :D) We would love to see subscribers play along, but Clique Kits products are NOT required to enter! Upload your project to instagram or to the Clique Kits Facebook page, #Cliquekits, #Cliqueintosummer during color week July 13-19th. Have fun! We have a prize for one lucky winner! Here is my challenge page from my summer album in 6 x 8 format. And here it is shown with the other side: Most people know that red, blue, and yellow are primary colors and form a harmonious triad, and the Good Day Sunshine Collection does most of the work for me. Even though they are primary hues, the colors used in this collection and on my layout are actually "shades." Golden yellow and the tertiary color blue-green mixed with a grey to make a muted shade of teal "change up" the traditional primary color scheme and add interest. It is easy to tell that this is a 4th of July spread, without sticking to traditional red white and blue. By allowing the red to be dominant, the emphasis is still 'patriotic' and energetic because red is a very vibrant color! Since it is a 'warm' color, it is perfect for complementing exciting things like parades and fireworks! How do you think about using color in your layouts?
I would love to hear from you and see you play along with the sketch challenge! Click. Connect Create. -Gia Jody here today and I'm super excited to share my latest process video with you! When I saw the Allison Kreft's Capture Life line, I just loved it! I love the colors and patterns, especially the teal and pink together. I also feel I can relate to Allison in a few ways. After all, she's a busy mama raising her family all while pursuing her career in design and being creative (sometimes into the late hours of night, which sounds all to familiar!) I think many of us can relate to her on that level! Being that I love this line right now, I am really crazy about our Midnight Summer's Dream kit! This week I've created a fun video for you, showing little 'ol me creating a layout from start to finish. You'll see how I move things around my layout as I'm putting it together and adding little details towards the end. Well, enough said by me, go grab your favorite beverage (and maybe a snack), sit back and enjoy! BOTLO (be on the look out) for a fun glassine bag pocket filled with the resin shapes, Chic Tags Wood Sequins (in the July Kit) and yellow squares which are negative shapes from die cutting the awesome Echo Park Viewfinder!! Thank you for watching today! Here are the Clique Kits products used to create today's layout:
July Kit ~ A Midnight Summer's Dream July Add-on ~ Echo Park Viewfinder Die (LOVE!!) July Add-on ~ Studio Calico Wood Veneer Enamel Dots (Awesome in person!) May Add-on ~ Lawn Fawn Stamp Wish You Were Here (fab all around stamp!) Another Clique Kits post is coming soon! ~ Jody Happy Thursday Clique Kits fans! Erica here with you today and I am so happy you have joined me today and I can not wait to share my layout with you! This week I am having so much fun with the July kit featuring Allison Kreft! Her Capture Life collection is full great pattern papers that are hip and fresh. The camera icons and bokeh add so much fun to this collection! I knew I wanted to use the Bokeh Teal paper as a background so I was excited to get started! Now I have said this many of times but in case this is your first time here at our blog I will say again, my scrap time is very limited! With 5 children ages 15-1 and 3 of them in sports I am one busy stay at home mom! I do create late at night most of the time but I still want things to be quick and simple for me! I am always pinning inspiration on pinterest or sketching my next layout in my notebook but when I saw the current sketch from Life.Paper.Scrapbook that our subbie Danielle posted I knew I had to use it with July Kit! Here is a look at the sketch. Sketches are my tools to help me get my creative juices flowing and to create a nice layout in a small amount of time! I love this sketch and i used the 6 blocks as tiny layouts and just had fun with each block! I also pulled out the Pinkfresh Studio exclusive kit that I just received to add a few of the fun elements and stamps from this kit! It is no secret that the Clique Kits girls love all things Pinkfresh Studio! Here is my completed layout! I also used some of the July add-on items in my layout! The Studio Calico wood enamel dots are beautiful and I think go great with this collection. You will also see I used the Echo Park View Finder Die as my circle elements in the corners. I used some vellum cardstock to die cut them and I love the look! These two add-on items are still available in the Clique Kits shop right now under July School Store! I hope you enjoyed my layout using the current sketch from Life.Paper.Scrapbook! If you have never visited their site please take a moment and do so. Our fabulous Clique Kits member Danielle is on the Design Team over there and she does amazing work with the sketches and challenges! I would love to see you create something using this sketch and our July Clique Kit! You can share with us on Facebook or upload to our Flickr Gallery! If you are a subscriber you can also pin your layout to the Clique Kits group board! I hope you all enjoy your day and get some time to be creative!
We are so excited to introduce Scrappin' Madge as this month's Substitute Teacher! She has been scrapbooking for 20 years and LOVES being in the Clique! We think she is pretty awesome too! I am a fun loving sassy redhead who loves to create. I am married to my high school sweetheart and have been for 18.5 years. I have two beautiful daughters and three cute doggies. I have been scrapbooking/crafting for 20 years. I enjoy keeping up on the latest and greatest trends in the Crafting industry. My style is eclectic. I really like to create a little of everything from Scrapbook layouts to cards to mixed media to 3-D projects. As a designer I am very self-motivated and meet strict deadlines. It is important to me that my work is unique and fun, and also inspiring to others in the crafting community. I love to continue educating myself; I am currently taking a mixed media class that is a year class. Teaching with different paints and mediums. I am an independent consultant for Close To My Heart and I love it. I also LOVE LOVE to use Clique Kits! They are simply amazing, making crafting one step easier!--Loves-Scrappin Madge Here is a video sharing a recent project with you. Enjoy! We can't wait to hear more from Madge next week! In the mean time, check out her blog and You Tube channel! See you then!
--The Clique Kits gals I'm back today with another Flipagram! I love being able to share my process on how I put something together. Though today's project is quite simple. I can't wait to use it on a future layout. I created a simple watercolor card using the technique Gia highlight in Summer School: Plunge Into Watercolors. If you are registered for summer class or are a Clique Kits subscriber you have access to this lesson under the "Summer School" tab on our website. Simple 3x4 card I can use on my next project! I used the watercolor wash technique for the background, add some embellishments from the July kit and stamped with versamark and finished with clear embossing powder the clouds in the corner.
Thanks for joining me today! Have a scrap happy day! Lacey G
