Welcome to sketch week CK friends! I love a good sketch and this one certainly is. I have stayed true to the sketch wanting to incorporate the fab free June rainbow cut file. And here is my take on the sketch and it is all about sweet summer! ![]() I started of by paper backing my rainbow and then machine stitching it. Before attaching to my page I lightly splattered my white base paper with black color shine. One I centred my rainbow I added my photo (of me admiring the view of my new sea side town recently located to). I then chose one of the gorgeous floral die cuts and attached with foam tape slightly over my matted photo. I then tucked under the flower die cut a sticker sentiment sticker from the kit. I finished this feature off by adding this gorgeous exclusive CK flair. Of course I had add one of the beautiful butterflies with some scattered sequins from the kit. ![]() I have added another CK cut file from the June kit but I cut the tropical floral bunch down so I had two of the flowers and leaves only. I paper backed them in yellow so they really stood out against the blues in the rainbow. I created my title using the sparkle alphas and added some journalling under it. I finished off by adding some more of the sequins and a light splattering of black color shine. And there you have it, one summer inspired layout made easy with the wonderful sketch and June Horizon Kit.
Thank you for stopping by today and having a look. I hope you are enjoying your June Horizon Kit as much as I am! Hello everyone! Today Ksenia here, and I want to share with you a layout with the second amazing June Sketch.I using the April Winter Park Kit and May Riga Kit. For the layout I used paper by Pinkfreshstudio. First cut out the frame, and then cut out the hearts. I used two kits of alphabets for the title.Hello Lovelies, Theresa here! Today I am sharing a layout I created using the June sketch as my inspiration. Have a look at the layout I made, and then I will share how I made it. This is the June sketch. Notice how I have mirrored the sketch, as the people in my photo are walking towards the right of the layout. My photo for this layout is from my daughter Natalie's fifth grade graduation from elementary school, so this is definitely a celebratory layout! I was inspired by the transparency in the June Horizons kit, so I layered it over white card stock. The key with transparencies is how to attach them to your layout, and in this layout I have used the We R Memory Keepers staple board. Our sketch called for layering the photo on top of other patterned papers, so I cut several pieces from the Horizons kit. Notice how I have pulled the navy, as that is one of the colors in Natalie's dress. I also cut some of the floral die cuts from Bella Blvd. to form tags. Those colorful papers and tags provide a great contrasting background for the glitter alphabet! I have kept my journaling very simple, only the who, what, when, and where written on a shipping tag. I also added just a few tiny puffy hearts from Pinkfresh Studio The Mix. The sketch called for a rainbow effect coming from the photo, and of course there are many different ways to achieve that. I chose these felt flowers to cascade across the layout. They are from Freckled Fawn and I had to have them when I saw them in the shop here! They are so fun and colorful, and I used every last one. One last little detail is the tag I added to the top right corner. This was another opportunity to attach the transparency to the page in a clever and pretty way. The word strips also make for nice journaling: Natalie and I always say I Love You More to each other so it seems very apropos to include that here! This was definitely a fun layout to create and I have loved sharing it with you today! Thank you for joining me! Have you been using your Horizons kit this month? We would love to see, be sure to post on Instagram and tag us! Hello everyone! Today Ksenia here, and I want to share with you a layout with the amazing June Sketch about some walk last summer.I using the April Winter Park Kit and May Riga Kit. Also I used one of the exclusive cut files. I cut out the file with a craft knife. The rainbow on my layout repeats the stripes on my dress.I am so loving the June Kit Horizon. To me it is all about summer and happiness! So today our focus is water colours. As my photo of my girl was all about summer fun in the ocean I decided to keep it simple and use a mix of blue/green and applied to my white base card stock in a way it looked like the ocean. I also added some splatter of the same blue/green water colour mix. I allowed it to dry naturally (if you try and fasten the process with a heat gun or similar your page will buckle and bend) so my page would remain flat and finished off my background with some light splatters of black. I used the main kit cut apart and used a 1 inch circle punch using the various colours and shapes. I wanted them to appear as if they were floating on my page, and to add pops of colour against my water colour background. I added a row of stitching to each to add texture. I did add the word 'Blessed' which was also from the main kit cut apart. I then cut my title from the June CK exclusive cut files Summer Sentiments, Tropical Vibes being perfect for my layout. I have cut it in white cardstock which stands out against my water colour background effect. The small flowers are actually cut from the packaging of the Bella BLVD Island Escape (I always check packaging for extras I can use!) which I then tucked under my title as in the diagram. I have used a 3x4 inch landscape photo matted on a 4x4 inch square of the Bella BLVD All People All Nations paper which I have added two rows of messy machine sewing. I finished this off adding the super gorgeous exclusive pineapple LOVE flair! I chose one of the gorgeous Bella BLVD Island Escape die cuts. I have added machine sewing to the palm leaves and some NUVO drops to the centre of the flowers.
And there you have it one fun summer layout! Thank you for stopping by today for a look and I will see you again soon. Hello everyone! Today I'm sharing a layout using the June Horizon TN kit and watercolors from my stash. The TN kit had a lot of typewriter images so I decided to do a layout about my typewriter. I decided to use the Crate Paper Oasis letter stamp with black archival ink to stamp lots of letters on the paper to make it look like they were falling and piling up. Once they were all stamped, I used some watercolors from my stash in the colors from the TN kit to color each letter. As I had done a bit of a non-standard rainbow with the watercolors, I kept that theme going with the remainder of the layout. I used the black and white striped paper in the TN kit to anchor the page and then used a lot of the die cuts from the two ephemera packs to bridge the stamped letters and the striped paper. As most of the embellishments were paper, I popped up quite a few of the die cuts with some craft foam to give the layout some dimension. Overall this page turned out to be pretty simple for me but I like the end result. Here is a picture of the final layout. I hope you have all enjoyed and are encouraged to play with watercolors yourself! Until next time!
Hello, lovelies, Theresa here with a lovely mixed media layout using watercolors today! Our product focus this week is a favorite of mine, and so I pulled some watercolors, a bit of water, and a giant brush to work with. Here is the layout I want to share with you. Watercolors can be so incredibly satisfying to work with, all it takes is a willingness to let them do what they want to do on the page. Let the outcome be the outcome. Here I used a wide brush to create strips of color starting a bit beyond the center of the page. At first I made the stroke with wet paint, and then a second time with a very dry brush to create the brush strokes. When that was dry, I adhered the butterflies in the June Horizons kit following that line. I had some beautiful photos of our daughters, Emberlynn and Natalie, from our recent trip to Savannah, GA. We were visiting the Children's Museum there, and this door invited us to see one of the spaces they rent out for events. The girls are so lovely there, framed by that gorgeous farm door! I created my title using some of the Jillibean Soup alphabets that are in the Market shop. They coordinate beautifully with the other elements of the Horizon kit! I created a very vertical title here, and used space in between the letters to add my journaling for the layout. I stamped a simple dotted line above each line using an old dotted line from my stash. Then I wrote a few sentences about how happy I am that these two will be friends for life. I love the light, airy feel the butterflies give to this layout! They were my favorite product in the Horizon kit, to be sure, so I made a point to use them first. I did take them apart - they were the loveliest layers of gold and acrylic and silver, but they came apart fairly easy and I was able to peel the adhesive off. To attach them to my page, I simply added the tiniest strip of pop dots to each one. I also added just the simplest of floral cluster on the right hand side of the layout, which is layered on top of a doily for a bit more texture. I also noted the who, where, and when underneath the photo. Here is another look at the layout. Thank you so much for joining me today! This was such a fun layout to create and share with you.
