Mini Album Recuerdos | Isa

Hello everyone!!

It's Isa today on the blog and I am glad to be back here with a new project! For today's post I have created a mini album using the Buenos Dias Kit, which includes teh collection designed by Obed Marshall for American Crafts. You can find and purchase this kit here.

For the cover I used some cardboard that I covered with patterned papers from the Buenos Dias collection. I fell instantly in love with the flowers from the die cuts set so it was a must for me to use them in the cover. The size of this mini album is similar to a traveller's notebook insert. I added two mint rings that come in the kit that belong to the collection. The combination of colors in them is amazing.

On the inside pages I decided to use different designs in eash one. I have used the thickers to add some words, and also the sequins that are in the kit to add some shaker pages on the inside of the mini album. I have used even the cardstock that is part of the packaging of the die cuts because the gradient of colors is amazing.

I also added a pocket, and some waterfall structure to add different designs on the inside. I added some cards that were included in the die cuts set and some acrylic decorations, puffy stickers that are included in the kit and everything combines perfectly well.

I also added some sewing by making stripes of paper with one of the papers from the kit. I would say that this is my favourite page of the project because I love sewing in most of my scrapbooking projects.

I have tried to add a bit of everything combined with the essence of this wonderful collection. I hope you like this project and I am thrilled that very soon I will be here with new inspirations and great projects with Clique Kits!! See you soon and take care!

Let's go to the Challenge Daytona Layout - by Valeska

Hello Clique Friends!!
Valeska here today sharing a 12x12 layout made for our blog category "Let's go". The idea is to share with you something about a journey or road trip, and some curiosities about the place or event.
I chose a sweet memory from my son that was when he finished his first young triathlon competition in Daytona Beach in December 2020.
This competition is called Challenge Daytona and takes place once a year in the city of Daytona Beach, Florida. The great thing about it is that the competition takes place at the Daytona International Speedway circuit. Imagine the thrill of running on the track where cars go super fast ... it's amazing!

Now, let's talk a little bit about the project and how I created it.
I used only two patterned papers from the Best Kid Ever Limited Edition kit, I decided to mix only the Cocoa Vanilla Studio papers that you will find in the kit.
On a white cardstock, I made some mixed-media with blue and orange watercolor.
I cut one of the papers into large triangles, used the front and back of the paper, and sewed them on the white cardstock with orange thread to highlight.

I also decided to use Paige Taylor's cut file (BRAVE) and lined it with patterned papers from the paper card sheet. Besides that I sewed a few times on top of the cut file to give it even more volume and texture, so I glued it with 3D stickers.

Also you can find in the kit, enamel dots that goes perfectly with the color palete, and I love to use them in my projects. Some elements that I used in this layout I already had in my stash, like phrase stickers and some embellishments.

I placed the photo practically in the middle of the layout, and added layers of paper behind it and glued it with 3D stickers as well to gain more volume. I like to use this feature so that our eyes fall directly where it is highlighted.

March Sketch Challenge

Hey everyone! Suzanne here today to share my take on this month's sketch challenge. If you know me, you know that I am not a sketch person. However, this particular sketch seemed really appealing to me and my love for creating mixed-media backgrounds!

I've used the Phoenix Add-On Kit to create this fun page of my then 2yr old daughter. This little kit is actually packed with some really fun elements!

I will admit-the free and fun splattered background had me hooked at first sight! I love using mixed-media in my scrapbook layouts and it's usually the first thing that hits my paper as a jumping off point!

The ephemera pack contained these cute little cactus themed pieces and that little comfy chair behind the 2. They have nothing to do with the picture, but they were calling out to be put on this layout!

Pieces of our Story | Storyline Chapters Planner

Hello crafty friends! Rita here today with a new project using the Heidi Swapp Storyline Chapters Planner which is available in the Clique International Shop. It's so much fun to work with and one of my current favorites for sure. The size is perfect - not too small and not too big. And the binders are so awesome and modern! For March I started a new notebook, the Planner! There are weekly spreads on each page, but I wanted to document a single day, because I made so many photos, so here's what I did:

You just need some patterned paper, some embellishment (not too thick!) or die cuts, some stamps, your photos of course and you're good to go! The paper I used is from the Paper Inky "Metropolis" Paper Pad. I cut the florals from the Altenew "Enjoy the Ride" Sampler Kit papers. I really love this Kit, because it's so unique and fun and so perfect for spring (and fussycutting! Yay!). If you follow me on Instagram or are a member of our FB group "The Clique", you've probably already seen this spread I made using this Kit:

But back to the current project. What I really love about the planner is that it's possible to switch it up and that's exactly what I'm going to do in the next couple of weeks: Weekly spreads, combined with "freestyle" spreads. Also I really like that the paper is perfect for stamping. I used stamps from my stash and added some journaling here and there. The photos were printed on a Canon Selphy (4 on one page!).

And here's the whole spread. You probably can't tell that it's a planner notebook at first sight.

On Repeat: Double Rainbow Layout | Dana Tatar

Hi friends! Dana here today sharing a scrapbook layout filled with happy rainbows for our new blog category On Repeat. Whether it is color, pattern, texture, or shape, the idea behind these posts is to find something that inspires you and use it in a repetitive way. I think it is pretty obvious that I chose to repeat rainbows! I used colorful cardstock and a My Favorite Things Happy Rainbow Die to create my own base patterned paper. I topped that with rainbow vellum, a shaker embellishment filled with rainbow shaker elements, and a photo of a double rainbow.

A double rainbow is considered a symbol of transformation and is a sign of good fortune. The first arc represents the material world, and the second arc signifies the spiritual realm. Double rainbows are also thought to be a sign of future success. Furthermore, anuenue means "rainbow" in Hawaiian and is a common theme in many Clique kits. If you're a fan of rainbows, you'll easily find what you need to make a similar layout in the Clique Shop.

I have a confession to make; cardstock scares me! I try all the time to use it as the base for my layouts, but the lack of a print really challenges my patterned paper loving brain. To finally cut in to my beautiful colored cardstock stash I decided to create my own patterned cardstock.

It took some time and a lot of work with my Cuttlebug (120 2.5 x 3 inch rectangles) to cut enough rainbows to fill a piece of cardstock, but I'm absolutely thrilled with the result and the fabulous texture! I saved all the extra rainbow pieces, so I can create 4 more 12x12 designs, plus create something fun with all the rainbow negatives.

Once my base cardstock was complete, I added another rainbow using the Pretty Little Studio Rainbow Connection Vellum from the Color Me Happy Clique Sampler Kit. I used the arcs as a guide for my title letters. This vellum sheet worked perfectly for a smooth journaling spot.

My Sister-in-Law captured this gorgeous double rainbow while vacationing in the Virgin Islands several years ago. I marked the end of each rainbow in the photo with Waffleflower Enamel Dots. Finally, I assembled a cardstock cloud shaker embellishment and filled it with Dress My Craft Rainbow Shaker Elements.

March Sketch Challenge| Nicole Kerr

Hello my crafty friends!
Nicole here and today I am sharing with you my interpretation for the March Sketch Challenge that we have going on until the end of the month! Team member Isa came up with this gorgeous mixed media style sketch and I knew I had to play along!

I love how Isa incorporated all of the layers AND the mixed media splatters! For my spread, I'm showing you how you can take this mixed media focused project and still use it even if you're not into the stencils, paints, etc! For my project, I'm using the papers and embellishments from the Sedona Kit. In this kit are gorgeous papers that have a lot of mixed media already done for you! I used this sheet ad just added a few black splatters and that was all the paint I added!

My layout is about a personal journey that I have been going thru and about being on a path to find myself and where I'm supposed to be in life. There were elements in the Sedona kit that worked great for documenting this! Even though there were cactus' and embellishments that talked about being "under the stars," these were easily transformable for documenting this! I focused on those pieces that said "be free," "flourish," "good times ahead," and "my happy place."

I also used loads of the foam thickers, leaves and flowers from the die cut packs and even the artificial flowers in the kit to add even more dimension around my photo.

Starting papers such as this is a fantastic jumping off point for dabbling in mixed media. If you scared to start, begin with this style of paper and don't be afraid to have some fun!

Do What Makes You Happy Mixed Media Layout

Hello everyone!! I don't spend much time on Pinterest these days, but when I do...man am I inspired! I could look at all the pretty images for hours. This month, I drew inspiration from a few different images. The colors are so beautiful and they are all so delightful!

I was really drawn towards the fuchsia. The color is sooo pretty! What do you think of these images? Aren't they beautiful!

To create the background I used the Fuchsia Stencil Butter and the Peruvian Lily Stencil to add some gorgeous flowers!

When applying the Stencil Butter through the stencil, it is a good idea to tape down the stencil using washi tape to prevent the stencil from slipping. If you chose not to tape down the edges, be sure to hold the stencil at the top and gently pull the butter through the stencil. I've done this technique a lot so I did not use anything to hold it down. :)

I inked the edges using the black ink to make the colors pop. I really like the contrast between the bright colors with the black.

Before I placed the embellishments down, I splashed some black gesso onto the flowers to grunge it up a bit.

I cut the flowers out from the A.B. Studio papers. LOVE their papers...seriously, they are so much fun to work with. I especially love their abstract designs.

and I'm very happy to share another project with you.

Do you ever created an easter tree?
That's my idea. Do not throw the egg shells away.
Just gently break in the center of the egg with a spoon and make a hole the size you want.
Wash well and boil to kill the bacteria.

Use a needle to make a hole in the top of the egg, thread it and glue a flower or bow to finish.
I made a tags to decorate the tree with the Basket of Love Kit.
I found beautiful branches in my garden to make the tree and a mason jar for the vase.
I made a bow to decorate too.
I like to reuse scrap packaging, and look how beautiful these ink pad packs are.
I put chocolates and decorated it.

Experiment: Love Your Smile | Piroska Czako-Radvanyi

Hello Everyone, it's Piroska here today with my latest post for Clique International. My task for this was to experiment, so I decided to play with my new Catherine Pooler ink pad, and try some of the things you can use this ink pad besides stamping.
I chose an older photo of my daughter - I can't believe how time flies! She was such a cute little girl 6 years ago! (I need to add the date stamp on this layout ;-P )

First I got out of the Lilac Avenue Kit, which is a new paper crafting collection from Teresa Collins in the Clique Chromatics series. It has beautiful purple colour and silver foil accents, and a silver glitter cardstock - it's just gorgeous! I really like the florals in the Lilac Floral paper, so I wanted to fussy cut some of them. I also decided to make a larger border on the left side of the layout, so I layered the lilac washi tape, the glitter cardstock and 2 patterned papers on each other.

I fussy cut some of the florals and started to make some leaves to complete them. For this I used a leaf stamp from Newton's Nook, you can find it in the Glorious Foliage kit and an older Altenew leaf stamp from my stash. I stamped the images with the Drive-In ink pad of Catherine Pooler, it has a beautiful purple-blue colour. This ink stays wet long enough, so I added different embossing powder on the stamped images and heat embossed them. I used clear, lilac and glittery embossing powders to get different types of leaves.

The Catherine Pooler ink pads are also great for faux-watercoloring the background. I stamped about 2-3 times on an acrylic block, added some water to it with a bigger brush and started to colour my background. I could have used some gesso before that, but I only wanted to make a light watercolored background, so I left it. I haven't used much water, so my white cardstock did not curled up much ;-)

I also used the butterfly washi tape from the Lilac Avenue Kit for decorating my layout - it has also silver foil, just beautiful! I fussy cut some butterflies and added them as a sticker on my layout. I also glued them on white cardstock and fussy cut them. This way I could bend their wings and add some dimension to the layout.

At least I added some purple sequins from the mini sequins. I really love how this layout turned out.
I hope I could inspire you to try these awesome and versatile Catherine Pooler ink pads! I already have some ordered, can't wait to get them! ;-)
