I did a lot of fussy cutting on this one and had fun tucking a few pieces underneath the cut file to add some depth.

Unicorn Party Decorations + Bonus. Ksenia Nikolaeva

Hello friends!
Today I share with you this 3-D sculpture unicorn for the birthday party my daughter. And also you will find a small bonus at the end of this post :)

The head of the unicorn is made out of card stock and pattern paper by Paige Evans from amazing kit Heart eyes.

For the unicorn's mane I used a special cardstock with cut flowers. I decorated it with other paper, embellishments and sequins by Spiegelmom scraps.

Love these flowers ♥

And here's the promised bonus. This is a template for making this unicorn. Just print and cut, and then glue on the main paper and glue the numbers of all parts.

Happy Smile | A Mixed Media Scrapbook Layout

Hello Lovelies! Theresa here to share a most fun layout I created using the January Heart Eyes kit! I wanted to create a mixed media background and build up layers on top today, so take a look at what I created.

One of my favorite things about the Heart Eyes kit and the amazing Whimsical products included, are all the different color options in the kit. You can literally pull any color scheme from these beautiful papers and I always say go with your favorites. For my mixed media background I pulled pinks, yellows, and greens, which are the main colors I see in my photos.

I wanted to repeat the hexagons in my background, so I started with a hexagon stencil I had in my stash from The Crafter's Workshop/Balzer Designs. I pressed my Versamark ink pad down over the stencil and then heat embossed the design using American Crafts Zing! powder in clear. Then I used Dr. Martin's Bombay watercolor inks to apply my color. I used Yellow Ochre, Cherry Red, and Aqua.

When you heat emboss a design and then add watercolors, the design then resists the colors that you apply to your paper. For this layout I applied each color one by one, just dropping a tiny bit of color in different areas and spritzing water to the splotches so the colors would run across the page. I love this method so much! Watching the colors react to the water and leave the beautiful pattern behind is so satisfying!

Once my background was complete, I layered photos and ephemera on top of a cutout from the hexagon patterned paper. I also created my title from the foam words included in the kit, and added a bit of journaling at the bottom of my page. I also used a label from the kit to add my date above one of the photos.

My story for this layout is all about my daughter Natalie's first day of Kindergarten. The photos themselves tell the story of how excited and ready she was, and notice how tiny she looks getting on that bus! I had to much fun adding ephemera around the photos, including hearts (because of course!), butterflies, the watercolor palette, a wolf (which is her spirit animal), and a bird (which I include in almost every one of her layouts). Everything about this layout was so much fun to put together!

Sisters Adventures Layout | Maryám Pérez

Hello everyone! Maryám here with you today with a new project using the January 2019 Kits. For today's layout, I was inspired in this month's sketch. When I saw the sketch I knew I wanted to create something like that, so I took a couple of ideas (like the big title, the flowers, and some splashes) and used them in my page.

In order to make my layout, I cut the title with my Silhouette Cameo and backed it with some 6x6 papers from the Traveler's Notebook Kit and adhered it with some foam dots. To embellish my page I choose some flower die-cuts and also some rub-ons. In the end, I used my typewriter to add my journaling and put some enamel dots.

Jodie King | Thankful Hearts are the Happiest Hearts

Hi CK friends!

It's Jodie here with you today! Working with the January 2019 Heart Eyes kits that feature Paige Evans' Whimsical collection has really inspired me to try some techniques that Paige is known to use. Today the technique I'm trying is a rainbow themed spread.

I'm loving stitching on my projects so much at the moment and that's how I started off my background. I marked a point where the centre of my circular photo would sit, and then marked around the edge of my spread at 1" intervals. I drew a really light pencil line from the centre point to each mark around the edge and then stitched holes along those lines with my sewing machine (with no thread in it). I used an eraser to remove the pencil lines, and backstitched each line in embroidery thread to make up a 360 degree rainbow.

So yes the stitching took a while, but I put together a little pencil case with my layout, all my chosen threads and a needle and scissors and carted it around with me over a few days, and every time I had a few spare moments, like in my lunch break at work, or while my hubby was driving the car and I was in the passenger seat, I pulled it out and did a little bit more, and do you know what? It was completely finished before I knew it!

The next step was to add a little mixed media to my background with some watercolour splatters to match each colour of the rainbow. Each colour overlaps just a little bit and I love how they blend into each other.

I die cut a scalloped circle in white cardstock and my photo in a smaller regular circle. For some texture I chain stitched around the photo in white embroidery thread. The cluster to frame my photo stays true to the rainbow colours in that section of the spread, with blues at the top and greens to the lower left.

To finish up my spread I pulled a bunch of small pieces from the sticker book and rub on sheets in the kit. The phrase and stitching rub ons were placed directly onto my spread, and the butterflies were placed on some scrap white cardstock and fussy cut. Then it was easy peasy to place each little ephemera piece in its colour section.

I also used the Thankful cut file from the Clique Kits store for my title, cut it in white cardstock and heat embossed it twice with gold embossing powder. You might notice that this piece is missing some squiggly bits on each end. I really love them but if I had left them on this piece would have been too big for my page. So I used the eraser tool in Silhouette Studio to erase those parts before I sent the file to cut.

Hi there everybody, today I want to share another layout with you using one of the awesome cut files from the shop. I decided to work with the January Kit Cut File|Background|Heart Eyes. I also worked with papers from the Heart Eyes kit and created a page documenting a summer memory.

I used the cut file as a background and placed my picture and some embellishments on top of it. The striped paper adds a sense of sunshine to the page and I also added a few yellow color splashes.

I also fussy cut these big flowers, so it doesn't take much more. Of course I also added the date by stamping it three times.

I hope you like my layout. Have fun using your kit and check out the coordinating cut file.

Love you snow much | Rita Marker

Hello crafty friends! Rita here today with a new layout using the „I love you snow much“ Cut File.
This year I'm changing my Project Life Album from 12x12 to 9x12. It's way more handy and I needed a little change. I don't want to limit the album to pocket pages, but also incorporate some layouts here and there. So this is how the idea for this layout was born.

Just this weekend we had a lot of snow. It was the perfect occasion to snap a couple of photos. I wanted a mostly white photo. And I already knew which Cut File I wanted to use for this one. I cut my 12x12 cardstock to my needed size, printed my photo out and put it in the middle of my cardstock. The Cut File came on top. And this is when the „real“ work started: hand-stitching!

I really underestimated this one. It took me quite some time. But once I've started, I didn't want to stop. I watched a movie and stitched and it was really relaxing. You should definitely try it out! I used three different colors for each line, and I love the effect it has.

After the stitching part was finished, I fussycut some elements out off two Simple Stories „Freezin' Season“ papers (which were included in the „Hipster Holiday Kit“) and used some stickers from Crate Papers „Snow and Cocoa“ sticker sheet and snowflake stamps.

This was the first layout for CliqueKits without using acrylic paint or watercolors by the way. Something unusual for me! But I liked it. Sometimes you just have to try something new. I hope you feel inspired to use this Cut File for your snowy photos. Or even try some handstitching?! Whatever you will create, be sure to share with us, we would love to see!

All the Colours | Travellers Notebook | Rachel Lowe

Hi CK friends today I have a TN spread to share.
I have dedicated this TN to document my creative journey in 2019.
I loved this quote and thought it perfect to start this TN off.

The floral 12x12 cut file page from the January kit is stunning. I decided to use it as one of the TN pages by cutting it down and then adding the bright pink and yellow floral paper for the kit. I also added some green behind the leaves.

I cut this quote on my Silhouette Cameo. I then set about embellishing this page once my title was in place. I just love all the crafty die cuts in the ephemera pack for the January kit. I used the rows of stitching from the rub ons which were an add on for this kit. I finished off with a splatter of black paint.

The New Year is such a perfect time to reset and refresh, make those creative goals and document your passion and thats what this TN is all about. Thank you for stopping by and see you again soon.

Make Life Wonderful | Rachel Lowe

Hey all Rachel here and today I have a super girly layout to share. The floral ephemera pack in the January Heart Eyes kit are so beautiful and they were the inspiration for this layout. The photo of my daughter wearing a floral crown was perfect for this layout.

I have used a cut file to create my vase, but this could easily be hand cut and using a hand punch to create a pattern in the vase. I also cut some green leaves so I could add lots of layers of flowers and leaves.

I then set about creating a floral bunch using the die cuts, layering and mixing up sizes and colours.

I also added some gold foam leaves from the alpha pack in the kit. I added a bow roundly vase.

I used the Maggie Holmes Willow Lane alphas from the December kit to create my title (they are in the Clique shop too) the colours and different pattens perfect to fill some of my white space.

I chose a solid colour paper to mat my photo an foam taped slightly over the vase and florals. And there you have it, a simple layout but visually is beautiful to look at. Thank you for stopping by and see you again soon.

Hello 2019 Layout | Maryám Pérez

Hello, Friends! Maryám here with you today to share my second project with the January 2019 kits. For today's project, I'm actually documenting a photo of me along with my thoughts for this new year.

For this layout, I wanted to keep a simple design but with a lot of colors so I decided to use the paper with colorful circles and I added hand stitching to some of them. I used a rectangular black and white photo and around it, I embellish with some flowers and stickers, all of them from the Whimsical Collection. Finally, I adhered a colorful strip of paper on the left side of my layout and on the bottom part, I added a label and some rub-ons.
