Hello Clique Fans!  Erica here with you today to share a layout I created using the February 2018 Atacama kits!  We are currently sold out of subscriptions but we do have some great products from this kit and collection available in theClique Kits shop!  For this layout I used a sketch for inspiration and I followed it pretty closely!  

I started by picking the papers I wanted to use to go along with my photo.  I decided to use black white and pink color combo!  I took advantage of the boarder stripes that come on the 12x12 papers!

I also pulled a black and white polka dot paper from my stash to use on my layout!  The photo I am using is of our daughter Alyssa so I thought this color combo was perfect!  I pulled out my favorite stamp set from Precious Remembrance shop called Happy Art to add a messy boarder around my photo!  Some of this does get covered up but I love how it looks!

I was able to pull in some of my items from my January kit as well and use in this layout!  I do this a lot with my kits and it help to get all my products used up and it does stretch the life of my kits!  The Vicki Boutin frame pack and ephemera packs had some black and white florals as well as some black and white ones!  They were perfect for this layout!  I like to cut them in half and tuck them behind my layers.  You can find these frame  & ephemera packs HERE in the Clique Kits shop!  The one think I love about these packs is they are so full and colorful!  They can go with so many collections! 

Using fun texture stamps is a great way to get a mixed media look without getting messy!  We have a new Kesi Art Stamp set in the shop that would be perfect if you are just getting started with mixed media or if you love mixed media look but do not want to get messy!  You can check it out HERE!  Here is a look at my completed layout!

Hello Friends! Maryám here with you today to share a layout using our January Kits. I mixed both kits but almost all of the embellishments are from the Traveler’s Notebook Kit.

I’m going to tell you the truth, I had no idea what to do for this assignment. I wanted to use the Vicky Boutin stuff and I had a lot of ideas in my mind but they weren’t good enough for me. I took a break and then when I came back to my desk I decided that I wanted to play with some mix media stuff. I used some of the memory dex cards as stencils and I also used my Prima Watercolors. I created a background but I didn’t like the result. Then, like a week after, my mind had new ideas and finally, I created a design that I liked. 

For this layout I’m using some circles that I punched from the background I made as the main element of the design. I also added some sequins and a few embellishments but nothing too big because I wanted to keep my photo and the journaling as the main focus of the layout. In the end, I stamped with the roller stamp some cute phrases that I liked.

Happy Monday! Do you ever experiment with different sizes of layouts to go in your albums? I know that I am not always a 12x12 girl myself. I love to add different sizes, pocket pages, and even interactive elements to my pages to increase the interest and keep things fresh. Today, I'm creating an 8.5x11 layout and I am grabbing one of my favorite go-to tools: my hexagon punch! 

I started with all of the beautiful paper and ephemera from the main kit. There were so many useable patterned and shapes to choose from that I just grabbed a little of everything. I used my hexagon punch to create a whole bunch of punched shapes and then laid them out on my page. 

One of my favorite little tips for a layout like this is to choose a couple of places to reverse your punch. Instead of laying the punched out shape on top of the layout, I used my punch to removed a piece of the background paper, added a little dimension foam, and placed the patterned paper behind it. Not only does this create some extra interest and dimension, but its a great home for some ephemera--in this case--flair badges. 

Then, it was just a matter of adding some layers behind my photo and my title which I grabbed from my personal stash of Good Vibes goodies. This was a simple layout but I just love the result. Here is the video that goes along with it if you are interested in checking that out.

So today I am sharing with you my January album ’s cover featuring the Cocoa Vanilla Studio-Bohemian Dream collection from January 2018 Main Kit.

I have always wanted to try the patchwork technique with paper but I have never done. I would have liked to use the cutter machine more often in 2017, but I didn’t do it. I decided to change in 2018. So for today’s project I created a patchwork background. I used Beautiful Mess paper by Cocoa Vanilla Studio, I cut out some 1x1,5 inch pieces and glued them onto the white cardstock. I also added zigzag machine stitching. The result is just amazing.

2018 year’s color is lilac and this is the reason why I chose this cute lilac bird for the cover decoration. I also used my cutting machine and I edited the word ‘January’ with the Silhouette Cameo program. I cut it out from the same paper which I used for the cover and I also used white cardstock at the back. Some splashes were the finishing touches to complete the cover.

For the back side of my January album I used the same patchwork technique.

The interesting part of the back cover is the “hey” die cut word from the Vicki Boutin- All the good Things pack. I used Altenew Golden Peach embossing powder from my stash and added a new look for it. I absolutely love the result. I used this word and created a little message for myself around it. 
​

Good Morning! I am so super excited to be here today jumping off the sharing for our new February kits. I read a few comments online talking about how the main kit and traveler's notebook kits were so different this month so I wanted to take that as an opportunity to create a layout using elements from both to show you how versatile (and super packed) these two kits are this month! 

For this layout, I knew that I wanted to use the small patterned paper squares from The Sweet Life that are in the traveler's notebook kit. I decided to create a fun border element with five little windows and use those bright patterned papers as the part that would show thru the windows. I added some sequin leftovers from last month (you know that you have some left!) as well as the mini die cut flowers. On each square, I also added a foam thicker word including the words run, go, jump, play, and live. Those letters came from the main kit! 

Once I had my border element created, the rest of the layout came together really quickly. I created a cluster of my three photos and used one of the adorable pom-pom frames from the main kit to highlight one of the photos of my daughter running with a look of pure joy on her face. I used some Tombow markers to add some detail around some random boxes in the background as well as a fun title and I was done! 

As different as these kits are, if you choose your elements intentionally, there are definite possibilities to mix these two kits in a fun and colorful way! Today we will be revealing our next kit...it is called Atacama (in case your geography is a little rusty, the Atacama desert is a stunning plateau in South America). We thought it was fitting to name this beautiful and FUN kit after a place very familiar to one of the designers we are featuring in this kit...our own Maryam Perez from Osorno, Chile. It also reminds me of the visit we made to one of the U.S. deserts Phoenix, Arizona for the Creativation Show where we found so many amazing collections and learned so much and will bring everything to you over the next six months!  Here is a picture of the real Atacama desert.

As always, Clique Kits has some surprising elements in this kit you won't find anywhere else. I found out this weekend that our DT member Sara Mishler (a.k.a Sara Scraps) has a teeny bit of a crush on llamas. I would die to be a fly on the wall to see her face when we reveal this kit. (Squeal!)

Hello, loves! Donna here with my last post this month using the January "Rhapsody" kit. 

I used one of this month's exclusive cut files (Shine bright) and I love how it turned out! I used foam tape to adhere the cut file to the background patterned paper. Then, I splattered a mix of spray mists, water-diluted paint and watercolors.

I kept the decoration/embellishment really simple since the word "shine" is already too big. I didn't want to overwhelm the overall look of the layout.

I just placed a simple cluster of ephemera, thread and die cuts on the top right part of the cut file. I also used a thin foam tape to add a bit of dimension

Then, I placed 3 photos and some ephemera, stickers, die cuts on the bottom part of the page. I added some doily and messy thread as well.

Love how the foam tape added a bit of height to the cut file and the clusters of embellishments. 
Then, I scattered some sequins and heart/star stickers to complete the layout.

Hello Hello! I don’t know about you, but certain tools in my stash collect dust. I know, shocking, right? Your appalled at my lack of usage on my tools, correct? .....yeah, I really didn’t think so.
So for my post today, I pulled one of those tools out and decided to find a new way to use it...a way to incorporate it into how a scrap and create now. The tool I chose was my Texture Boutique...an adorable little tool that sits on my shelf and collects dust ( see dust in photo below) It’s original purpose is to dry emboss card fronts or die cuts ....

.......but then I discovered something quite interesting. Dry embossing folders are the same width as my TN inserts AND they perfectly emboss a 6X6 paper...who knew? And with those revelations in hand, I dusted off my Texture Boutique and Away I went!

By embossing the strips and matching them up, I created a textured base for my insert spread. Dry embossing on a TN spread adds texture and interest without bulk. Pretty cool, right?

Happy Sunday! Khristina here checking in from Creativation. We are just finishing up an action-packed first day on the show floor and I can honestly say that my first experience here has been beyond anything I could imagine but also completely overwhelming in the best possible way. Let me just give you a little background. I am a complete introvert (surprised, maybe?!) and so I have stepped way out of my comfort zone here. This year, my One Little Word is DARE and coming to Creativation was my first big adventure in living out my OLW actively. 

It has been a big dare just for me to be here but even more so I have talked to hundreds of people today, got tips on a new type of stitch that I want to try directly from Paige Evans and even gotten a big hug from the amazing Missy Whidden. I have talked product, helped make buying decisions, and just enjoyed every second. I have dared to be a better version of myself and it has all been worth it! Now...on to what you really want to see....the good stuff.....Enjoy this peek into our first day at Creativation!
